Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

IcyLimeSwan · 28/11/2025 12:49

@CandyRain89 aww congratulations! Enjoy all the newborn snuggles

@CheeryPombear good luck for tomorrow! not long til you have little one in your arms ♥️

@UNICORN1589 thank you 😭 think I’ve just been an emotional wreck this last week! Underestimated that sending the dog on holiday would be the trigger for me having a complete meltdown 😂 mum has confirmed he is having a whale of a time as predicted! And thank you for the blanket advice we definitely will do this xx

JoyousMauveBear · 28/11/2025 13:49

Hi!, I’m late to the party. I am due to give birth via c section on the 3rd of December!, super nervous but also very excited!

Pinkstuffs · 28/11/2025 14:45

@CandyRain89 congrats! Getting a bit real now that some of the babies are being born!

MyLilacPoet · 30/11/2025 09:23

@CandyRain89 congratulations! :)

@CheeryPombear hope all is going well, best of luck!

MyLilacPoet · 30/11/2025 09:25

@JoyousMauveBear welcome! The 3rd is also my due date. :) My midwife says it’s a full moon next Friday so we’ll see how many babies start having ideas. ;)

Mama09876 · 30/11/2025 16:52

How is everyone? It’s looking like December babies for the rest of us 🤍
38+1 today and I’m shattered! I have no energy at all today. Baby is so low I can feel that heaviness below. Starting to get some more mucus so I’m guessing everything is softening.
Every day now I’m thinking will it be today?! I keep thinking I’ll go early but not sure why 😂 I was 40+4 with my 1st

emzlyz · 30/11/2025 19:25

36 weeks today. Bump has dropped and she's so low. The pressure is so strange. Got my midwife appointment on Tuesday and growth scan Thursday. Hoping to get my induction date Thursday 🤞 so ready to not be pregnant anymore

McNicola · 30/11/2025 20:10

Hope the remaining weeks are kind to all of you! Sitting here now with our rainbow baby asleep in my arms I can 100% say it's much easier with a newborn than it is being heavily pregnant so there is a light at the end of the tunnel 😊

CheeryPombear · 30/11/2025 20:14

A wee update. Induction started at 3am Friday night/Saturday morning. Its now 20:00 on Sunday and I'm only around 1cm dilated. I can't have any more induction meds as I'm contracting strongly and regularly and they don't want to over stimulate me. Guess baby doesn't want to come just yet.
On regular monitoring and will see if I'm still contracting in the morning...if I am it's just a waiting game. If not I get more meds.

McNicola · 30/11/2025 21:07

@CheeryPombear oh bless you! Fingers crossed for you baby pombear starts making an appearance very soon, are you having to stay in hospital?

Yes but I've been here since last Monday anyway due to the gallbladder complications. It feels like a 2nd home..I've spent more time here in the last 6 weeks than I have at home. Gallbladder has ruined my experience of pregnancy.
I'm also a high risk pregnancy so I don't think they would have let me home regardless. I'm very lucky the team here are amazing, we've had a few blips but it's a lack of resource and not a lack of compassion or care.

DogsandDungarees · 02/12/2025 06:02

After an induction and emergency C section baby was born 1st December 15:10 :)

CheeryPombear · 02/12/2025 17:25

We are ok ish - it was a very long labour. He got stuck and then the induction meds were upsetting him. I've been poorly for weeks and by the time we got to c section I was so dehydrated I got an arrythmia and they were concerned about my heart. My infection markers are around 10x higher than they should be!
Baby Pom is good, he's currently spending some time under lamps for jaundice but otherwise has passed all his health checks.

Sending love to you all xxx

Quick update. Baby Pom and I are good. He got jaundiced and lost nearly 10% body weight but he's gained 80g in one day on a strict feed regime and the doctors let us home today. I continue on antibiotics but they can't pinpoint an infection which sounds bad but actually means there's nothing specific and it could have just been labouring on top of everything else that made me so unwell.
I'm beyond happy. Baby Pom is our dream come true. I never ever thought I would ever get here or see this day. It's a miracle and words really cannot convey how I feel about the family who donated their embryos to us. What an amazing selfless thing to do. They have made our world complete and I really hope theirs is too.

Now to let the section heal and to spend some quality time with him and Daddy Pom ❤️

I hope you are both recovering well. An emergency c section is a huge shock to the body. I'm slowly feeling better and know it won't take long for you to recover. You're in my thoughts and prayers 🙏🏻 ❤️

Up and down, I'm getting my appetite back and the gallstones so far are causing minimal pain which means I've been able to eat proper food and some junk food...I'm sure my weight is going to pile back on 🤣

I'm struggling to get comfy especially in bed, I feel like I've been stitched to tight and can't lay flat but have been told it will come. I have a dry cough which drives me insane and really hurts my wound but again it will get there.

Other than that it's just weird being home and having little man with us. I keep staring at him. It's like I'm in a dream or a bubble. He's so perfect. He's so far a really good baby as well, hardly cries and his food intake is getting better. He gained another 20g from yesterday to today so midwives are happy.

It would be perfect if no c section limitations. I really didn't want one and it's actually quite upset me how my choice (I know deep down the right one for both of us) was taken away. The pregnancy itself was so rough and now this. But I'm going to be positive about it and not whine too much.
