Visible signs so far are bloat and acne 🤣

This!! My skin has been horrible since the day I found out🤣🤷🏼‍♀️

ThatSnugSwan · 31/01/2025 21:40

Thanks for this, I was a little concerned but glad it seems to be the norm

AMMxx · 01/02/2025 04:27

Hi all,

Wanted to introduce myself - I am 9+2 today with my first baby, conceived through IVF so it has been a long process and I still can’t quite believe we have made it this far! Had scans at 7w and 9w and both all fine luckily, now I am just waiting for the 12w scan as I feel I can relax a bit more if I make it that far.

Had no symptoms really other than boobs being a bit sore but recently I have started to feel a bit nauseous at times, and yesterday had lower back pain all day. Hoping this is as bad as the symptoms get 🤞

Hope you are all doing well!

That's brilliant! It's so hard to relax but hopefully that's given you some reassurance.

I had mine today too and measure 9+6 all looking fine

Thank you ❤️ it is so hard to relax but this takes us past all our loss milestones which means something! Planning to do the NIPT in 2 weeks, and hoping to relax a bit after that. :)

Great news your scan went well too!

MyGardenDaisies · 01/02/2025 09:10

@AMMxx congratulations! ❤️

I am 7+2 today counting from my early scan measurement dates, so have got back to where “left off”. ☺️
We have been telling family this past week and it has been lovely to share, for it to not be a secret. I must say the reactions with 1st baby were so much more emotional than with 2nd - I feel like everyone expected already haha

Herecomesbaby · 01/02/2025 09:49

For anyone worried about lots of discharge look up Leukorrhea, I had loads with my first. totally normal your cervix is creating it to protect baby xx

Herecomesbaby · 01/02/2025 09:52

Sorry should have said look up Leukorrhea in pregnancy otherwise it might tell you it's abnormal lol

Trinityhome · 01/02/2025 10:38

At what points are cramps concerning?

I feel like I have the cramps on an off everyday but I don’t remember this with my first.

AMMxx · 01/02/2025 14:20

@MyGardenDaisies thank you and congrats to you as well!
Do you know yet when you will tell others (eg friends, work etc)?

I am torn between wanting to tell everyone and being cautious because it might all go wrong still! So far only two of our friends know and they only know because they knew about the IVF. My mother lives in a different country and I’ll be there when I’m 12 weeks so will get a scan done and tell her then, she can have a scan picture as well which I know she will love. This is her first grandchild and that’s all she’s ever wanted so she will be super excited but that’s all the more reason why I can’t tell her too early - it would be too painful for her if anything happened to the baby so it’s better she only knows once we are past the highest risk period.

Probably telling other family members, friends and work at that time too though I have been tempted to tell work already just so they would cut me some slack as it’s been super busy 😅

Melusina123 · 01/02/2025 14:26

Last time both sets of parents knew at about 6 weeks (not our choice - it was necessary), and we didn't tell anyone else until after the 20wk scan. This time I think we'll be a bit more conventional about it and tell most people after the 12wk scan & if the NIPT comes back looking OK. My mum knows already because I needed to ask her advice on something. But nobody else.

KittyFantastica · 01/02/2025 17:37

We'll tell our mums after our 12 week scan and screening results have come back. Everyone else, we'll wait until 20 weeks if we make it that far. After losing our son at 19 weeks, we're not holding out a lot of hope.

No one is going to be happy for us after 3 losses, this is our fourth pregnancy in the space of one year. They're all going to be anxious and unsure what to say to us, so no point making it awkward for them until there's a chance we know it might work out.

MyGardenDaisies · 01/02/2025 18:04

@AMMxx we have told all of our family since the scan (7+2 by last period). And I told my line manager and HR too this week so I get the paid time off for appointments.
My friends knew we were trying , and one is pregnant too, so we discussed it around 6 weeks. :)

AMMxx · 01/02/2025 18:08

@Melusina123 thats a good point about the NIPT - makes sense to wait for the results first.

@KittyFantastica I am so sorry to hear about your losses, absolutely heartbreaking. Hopefully this is the one ❤️

@MyGardenDaisies that’s lovely that you have friends in the same boat! One of my friends (who knows about the pregnancy) is about 20 weeks and it’s her second, it’s invaluable being able to ask her stuff like “is XYZ normal / did you have this”.

Melusina123 · 02/02/2025 11:38

@KittyFantasticait's so unbelievably difficult. I can see why you want to keep things quiet. I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you that this is your rainbow.

How is everyone on this chilly Sunday? Any scans/appointments coming up this week? I have my booking appointment on Tuesday so that's our next milestone.

Strawb28 · 02/02/2025 14:45

@Melusina123 I have my first little private scan on Friday I'll be 6+4. Hoping to see a little flickering heartbeat! Still doesn't feel real at the moment lol

2025Bump · 02/02/2025 14:57

Flo says I'm 7+6 but I expect my dating scan in (March 4th ) will confirm. It's hard to calculate because I had a very odd cycle in December where I spotted for 10 days and then god a bfp on Jan 2nd. But I thought I ovulated around 22nd.

Anyways...Been so sleepy recently. I think that no matter how much sleep I get at night I start feeling sleepy around noon. Hardly any nausea but I'm mum more sensitive to cold and have a mild metallic taste in my mouth. My first pregnancy was the opposite, I had severe nausea all day, every day.

Sept25bub · 02/02/2025 15:42

Think the sickness has finally hit. Really felt like a hangover this morning. Wasn’t expecting to throw up bile like my old uni days. Eurgh.
and so much more hungry. All day.
My booking appt is 2.5 weeks away when I’ll be 9.5 weeks. I asked booking email if I would get a scan date in a letter. They said yes but I’ve not had it and worried I’ll have to wait until after booking appt and that might mean it’ll be later than 12 weeks. Or not. Just really want to have that date sorted.

Feeling pretty excited to be at 7 weeks and hoping some of the anxiety might wear off as it continues and get closer to appointment dates.

Did anyone bug their booking appt people for a date? Did it work

hope you’re all doing great!

LottyXO · 02/02/2025 18:00

Hi, hoping I can join this group as I’m 6wks 3days today and due 25th September 🙏🏼 Anyone else due that date?x

MyGardenDaisies · 02/02/2025 18:14

Anyone else going to ask for a scheduled C section?

I had an unplanned section with my first and really enjoyed it, so will ask to have it this time. I think NHS do them from 39
weeks.

FMc208 · 02/02/2025 19:35

I’ve got my scan this week! Equal parts anxious and reallllllly hoping for a nice strong heartbeat 🤞🏼 I’m pretty sure on dates too so I hope I’m measuring right.

@MyGardenDaisies Im leaning towards an elective, I had an emcs after a long failed induction with DD and although the recovery was brutal, once it was done it was done. I know people that are having prolapses and other complications a year or so down the line after a vaginal birth.

I do kind of want to experience a vaginal birth but I think I’m leaning more towards a section.

How are you getting on?

Ru19 · 04/02/2025 09:26

@MyGardenDaisies i have been thinking about asking for one.. it’s my first baby and not sure at what point it’s best to bring up with my midwife? I’m worried they’ll make it hard

KittyFantastica · 04/02/2025 09:31

It was a fraught and tearful half hour, but we had our 7 weeks scan yesterday. We have one beautiful little blob with a good heartbeat and measuring on time at 7 weeks exactly.

Due to my history, I asked if they could see anything unusual or tell us anything about what they see and she said my uterus has gone from retroverted to anteverted (which I didn't know it could do), and also that my cervix is only measuring 11mm! Most will be around 40mm at this point, so that's a significant point. We're going to try and contact the Tommy's consultant we spoke to previously and see what he recommends about it 🤞

We'll also wait til 20 weeks to tell the vast majority of people too. For me it's the only point at which I will fully relax.

So sorry to hear you had a loss at 19 weeks, I can't even imagine how devastating that would be. Really hope this is your very special rainbow baby 🍼🌈
