Hi everyone, just found out I'm pregnant today at 9dpo, I wanted to make a thread for people to join who will be due in September 2025!

Anyone booked an early scan? If so, when for?

I've booked for 8wks 1day since LMP. Sort of tempted to bring it forward a week...
I think with previous I might have even had one at the end of 6wks. Of course it was just a blob but it was a blob with a heartbeat and that's all I wanted to check.

FMc208 · 19/01/2025 15:03

@Wisher88 I said I was going to wait until 8 weeks but I found out at 3+3 so it feels like forever away! I’m probably going to book one for just over 7 weeks, that’s when I had one with DD and I’m the same as you, just want to see a heartbeat at this stage. When is your scan booked for?

Mooey89 · 19/01/2025 15:12

@Wisher88 ive booked one for next Sunday when I’ll be 6+5 🙈 I should definitely wait for 8 weeks but I’ve just been convinced ill lose it and need the reassurance that it’s in the right place and growing as expected.

KittyFantastica · 19/01/2025 15:36

EPU want me in for a scan 7 weeks exactly @Wisher88 as the consultant handling my high risk case this time wanted me on progesterone from day one. I'll probably get a development scan at 9 weeks too, which is what they did with my last pregnancy due to a previous MMC. Still feels aaaaages away, I'm 5 weeks today 😆

Just joining this thread!

Had my BFP at 10dpo and have had clear line progression since then. I am now 5w+1. This would be our first baby and we are both feeling very apprehensive about the idea of the pregnancy not sticking and I am finding it really difficult to get past this anxiety. I usually spot during the luteal phase of my cycle which has always caused me to suspect a hormone imbalance and issues with getting/staying pregnant. I had no spotting this cycle and no spotting since implantation but it just keeps playing in the back of my mind that this is going to cause a problem. Has anyone had similar and found it not to be a problem in maintaining a pregnancy?

Apart from being super anxious I am feeling not too bad - tender breasts, bloating, increased appetite and a bit of tiredness - although weirdly disappointed to have no nausea/sickness as I feel this would help reassure me that things are progressing.

Melusina123 · 19/01/2025 15:55

For those considering early scans, FWIW according to Tommy's if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks there's a 98% chance of the pregnancy continuing. So if you can hold out until 8+3 or something like that I think that's the best timing.

That said, I've had an early scan towards the end of 6 weeks due to part miscarriage. Another one in 2 weeks.

MyGardenDaisies · 19/01/2025 17:07

I have my scan booked for Sunday when I’ll be 7+2 and that was the same as with my toddler.

Lou98x · 19/01/2025 17:09

I also have an early scan booked for 7+5 (although ovulated later so more like 6+5). Did the same with DS1 and definitely wanted the same reassurance this time around.

Wisher88 · 19/01/2025 17:43

Hiya, the nausea/morning sickness doesn't typically appear until week 6/7.
I'm 5wk4ds and I've got sore boobs and keep falling asleep.

EmsyBlue · 19/01/2025 21:45

Looks like we are all in the same slightly anxious boat! Lovely to be here with you all. I think I will probably book an early/viability scan too. Super interesting about waiting until 8 weeks…if I can wait that long 😅

MyGardenDaisies · 20/01/2025 07:41

Hey! Happy Monday!
6+3 today, and scan week finally!!! Excited and anxious!

YKM2829 · 20/01/2025 10:08

Bfp Friday! Due 26th of September. Super excited and already have nausea and some other slight symptoms ❤️

Strawb28 · 20/01/2025 10:11

Hello everyone, I tested positive last Thursday at 10dpo and I'm exactly 4 weeks today going by my app and last period. This will be my second baby but just as anxious as the first because I had a chemical before having my LG. Anxiously waiting to I can have a scan. Went at 6 weeks with my LG due to some red spotting and thankfully seen her little heartbeat. I think in going to hold out to about 7 weeks this time all going well x

DJE24 · 20/01/2025 10:40

Morning all, according to Flo, I’m 7w4d today and I have my early viability scan booked in at 13:30. The nausea is horrid although thankfully haven’t actually been sick as of yet. My boobs have been SO sore but the last few days seems to have lessened, which of course is just making me worry!

I’ve been reading about travel sickness bands having helped some people, so I’m going to Boots today to buy some in the hope they ease things.

Strawb28 · 20/01/2025 11:17

@DJE24 best of luck in your scan!! I was so sick with my little girl and the travel bands definitely helped me a bit! X

BGxxx · 20/01/2025 11:19

@DJE24 hope your scan goes okay! Keep us updated xx

FMc208 · 20/01/2025 11:27

When did everyone’s sickness start? I had none with my DD so have no idea if I’m dodging it again or if I’ve got it to come! I’m 5 weeks tomorrow.

Melusina123 · 20/01/2025 12:41

@FMc208 bang on 6 weeks every time. But you may just not be prone to sickness, in which case, lucky you!

I'm 5 + 1 today (I think) and bit concerned that symptoms don't seem to be getting any stronger - if anything, they are lessening. My main symptoms have been insomnia and sore boobs. My boobs feel less sore than a few days ago, insomnia comes and goes. Heart rate is still elevated and still strong lines on the test.

It's my first pregnancy so not really sure what to expect - has anyone experienced strong tests but reducing symptoms? Should I be worried?

Hi! I'm 5+4 today, also first pregnancy, and I'm experiencing the same so hopefully it's normal.

Hoping I'm just adapting and that's the reason for the decreased insomnia and sore boobs..

Fluffydino21 · 20/01/2025 12:52

Sept25bub · 19/01/2025 12:49

Yes, I think I might, £75-85 seems worth it for reassurance! :)

I had no idea it was so cheap! Are there any downsides to getting these private scans?

For example, can it ever worry you unnecessarily if it's still quite early / they can't pick up a heartbeat?

It was definitely a temporary decline in symptoms for me. 6 + 1 today and the nausea has hit. Also having got strong food aversions. Boobs are really sore and I'm really veiny on my chest and shoulders. Relieved things seem to be progressing but I've definitely felt better 😅
Have a scan a week today so crossing fingers everything is going as expected.

I’m planning to go for an early scan at 8 weeks+ just to avoid any uncertainty with dates/heartbeat. Although I think any time after 7 weeks is fine if you’re sure on your dates

Strawb28 · 20/01/2025 13:47

@FMc208 my sickness with my LG started at 6 weeks and 1 day exactly. I remember because I went for a 6 week scan the day before and had been saying about very little symptoms and then it started lol

Fashionlover123 · 20/01/2025 15:15

had my scan today at exactly 7 weeks & saw babies heartbeat! Feeling relieved.
struggling every day with nausea from the second I open my eyes until I go to sleep! I’m in the trenches!

I didn’t get sickness until 9 weeks with DS (which didn’t go away until 25 weeks!) so really just depends!
