Hi guys,

I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. I am a little anxious as I haven’t had any of the common symptoms of being pregnant i.e. morning sickness/nausea. I’ve just about had fatigue and my soreness of breasts are coming and going? Should I be worried or is this normal?

Hiya, congratulations on the pregnancy, i have been going theough the same, ive been tired alot and have had sore breasts that come and go x

Pretty normal for there not to be many symptoms in wk5, I wouldn't worry too much.

I remember the symptoms not kicking in consistently until about 6 weeks.
I've had the occasional mild wave of nausea in the morning and occasional sore breasts but comes and goes. I'm 4wks3ds.

I’ve just taken a test but not sure if this would be too faint? I’m 2 days late & last period was 8th December. Would this be too weak for 5 weeks? Xx

I'd similar faint lines with those strips but two tests with another brand confirmed it! Worth picking up another test....but that looks like a line to me!

Hi everyone, I've been lurking this week. I tested positive on Tuesday at 9DPO. I'm now 14DPO, two days late and unable to deny it any more.

Sadly, I've had two early losses and a second trimester lost of our son at 19 weeks in September. Lots of very, very conflicted feelings, but I found my last two due date groups so supportive and invaluable to be a part of.

I'm still very nervous, this is pregnancy number four and we've no living children. Requested to join the WhatsApp group and hopefully can go all the way to 37+ weeks this time 🤞

@KittyFantastica congratulations and welcome, I've lurked on some of the conception threads so have seen your story there - all my fingers and toes crossed for you that this is your 🌈 baby. Hopefully you'll also get lots of support from the hospital?

Welcome 🤗 🌈
Those are some very strong lines and it's reassuring you had a positive so early. Hopefully everything is going as it should be.

So sorry to hear about all of your losses 🫂
Did they work out why it was happening and given you anything to help this time round?

The first half of pregnancy can be so nerve wracking. I had an early loss with my first pregnancy. Then with DD we had our 20wk scan and two days later I had some bleeding. Luckily she was fine, but it's that feeling for me of when can I relax?
I don't think I really started to enjoy it emotionally until 30wks and by then I could barely walk 😁

KittyFantastica · 12/01/2025 15:19

Thank you @Melusina123 and @Wisher88

First pregnancy was an implantation issue, it just never really got off the ground. Second was a missed miscarriage, so unrelated and probably a foetal issue - I had scarily high HCG and it took 8 weeks for it to disappear from my system. Thurs pregnancy was absolutely perfect, and so was our little boy. No infections, health conditions, foetal abnormalities, or reasons within the pregnancy for it to happen. I went into premature labour and the NHS are not interested in finding out why or diagnosing anything.

They want to put it down to a cervical issue, but the symptoms and events don't fit. Personally, I believe it was a bladder retention issue from 16 weeks, which I flagged to three different services (community midwife, GP and triage) and all three ignored it and was misdiagnosed with a UTI. After I gave birth, nearly 2 litres of urine was able to empty from my bladder and I'd been having terrible bladder pain for weeks. Our bereavement midwife said bladder irritation and retention can cause contractions to start, and if the pressure isn't released, labour. I may need to self catheterise this time.

Basically, we have no guarantees . We just have to wait and hope the same thing doesn't happen.

Hi everyone
congratulations to all of you!!
I found out I was pregnant on Tuesday, unplanned and a big shock! My cycles are all over the place due to PCOS, but last period was 11/12, think I must have ovulated around Christmas time.
spending a lot of time checking for line progression and cannot shake the feeling that it’s going to end in a loss. 😔
previous two pregnancies were chemical.
really hoping this one sticks!
do these look too light? X

@KittyFantastica that's so sad and also so frustrating that they're not interested in finding out what happened I have such mixed feelings about NHS maternity services! Fingers crossed for this time.

I'm going to
Hold off joining the WhatsApp group for now until I've got passed my first early scan as I'm not convinced the pregnancy is viable yet

HereWeGoAgain21 · 12/01/2025 18:43

Hello everyone, period is not due until 16th so I won't join the WhatsApp until then and I've had a really strong line but I have a light line. Also boobs feeling sore and a feel sick already I'm getting twin feelings 🤣 third baby, super nervous as its a bit of a shock 🙈

I'm so sorry you weren't listened to! They're supposed to look into it and find out the reasons.

Hopefully this one is for keeps ♥️🌈

Is anyone else like really gassy? 😂 I don't remember this last time but I seem to have so much more wind 🤣

thismotherhoodthing · 12/01/2025 20:34

@Wisher88 yes unbelievably so, much worse than last time. So bloated and gassy

Melusina123 · 12/01/2025 21:13

@Wisher88 @thismotherhoodthing burps for me. 😂 So delightful.

KittyFantastica · 12/01/2025 21:44

@thismotherhoodthing It's a total post code lottery for a lot of things, but maternity care in general is so archaic compared to the rest of the world. It's horrifying.

Thank you @Wisher88 and congrats @HereWeGoAgain21!

Honestly I can't stop farting.
