Hi everyone, just found out I'm pregnant today at 9dpo, I wanted to make a thread for people to join who will be due in September 2025!

I think I might be out girls. Symptoms started disappearing yesterday and had some bleeding tonight. Just got a feeling.

Oh no! I'm so sorry. Keep us updated if you want to, we're here. Sending luck and baby dust xx

Melusina123 · 11/01/2025 09:25

Solidarity to everyone just counting the days, I'm the same. My morale is very low at the moment, especially because I'm starting to feel a bit nauseous.

What do people find helped with nausea? I managed to get prescribed cyclizine then metoclopramide last time but neither of them did much and since I don't tend to vomit (just feel miserably nauseous alllll day) I'm not sure about something stronger.

@camelinastorm @thismotherhoodthing sorry to hear this, fingers crossed for you both.

Fashionlover123 · 11/01/2025 09:32

Completely 100% with you all on wishing the days away! I also thought January would be fine as no one sees anyone in January, there’s no social plans, but it is making the days between work super long x

Edited

I haven’t had nausea as such but last week I was sitting in the back seat of the car and felt a bit rubbish. I’d brought out a can of Tesco sugar free ginger beer so took a sip of that and I felt immediately better.

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear this, how are you today? Have you managed to get ahold of your EPAU?

Friedseasalt · 11/01/2025 10:10

I have had some really sore cramps yesterday & through the night, radiating down into my leg. However no bleeding at all so trying to stay positive, which is proving difficult! It’s such an anxious time and like many of you wishing the days away.

Melusina123 · 11/01/2025 10:15

@Mudonstairs I drank a lot of Bundaberg ginger beer in one of my previous pregnancies (it's the best because it has actual ginger in it) and managed to just put myself off ginger beer. 🥲 But maybe I'll try that again.

@Friedseasalt it could be ligaments stretching? I had some referred pain from my hip down my leg a couple of days ago which I thought was probably that. IME most bad things start with blood then cramps not vice versa so fx for you it's nothing.

MyGardenDaisies · 11/01/2025 10:32

Morning! 5+1 and the nausea has hit 🤢
also had bleeding gums last night and woke up so many times at night to pee and would not be able to fall back asleep.

Lao2471 · 11/01/2025 11:01

@Melusina123 I’ve found eating as soon as I wake up really helps keep it at bay…I’ve now got a stash of ginger thin biscuits from ikea right by my bed 🤣

thismotherhoodthing · 11/01/2025 11:03

@Ncl31 @Mals2022 @Melusina123
I called them this morning and they said to wear a pad and if I have any clots bigger than a 50p piece to go straight to A&E. Such a different response to the EPAU at my last hospital who got me straight in for a scan! The bleeding has stopped now but it was light red blood, not heavy but more than just spotting.

Melusina123 · 11/01/2025 11:06

@Lao2471 ginger biscuits are going straight in the next shopping order. 👍 Was thinking about trying to make some banana/ginger cake as banana apparently is high in B6.

@thismotherhoodthing fwiw I had bleeding from 6-8 weeks in my successful pregnancy, including bright red blood. But I am surprised they don't want to scan to exclude ectopic! EPAUs are so random in their policies...

thismotherhoodthing · 11/01/2025 11:53

@Melusina123 I did in my last pregnancy too, until about 20 weeks. It turned out I had a cervical ectropian. (I think that's the right spelling). I told them this on the phone but just said I would like to get checked to rule out any problems. Apparently not! I was worried about symptoms randomly disappearing as well but actually feeling rather sick again today - what a rollercoaster

Hen2000 · 11/01/2025 12:18

I have had good success with the anti sickness bands. I also get the all.day nausea. Eating something small before getting out of bed helped before, small snacks in the day, not letting myself get too hungry and sprite/lemonade.

I reworked out my due date as I didn't ovulate until day 24 and had a 36 day cycle. I believe I am 4 weeks today. Not too many symptoms yet mostly just heighten smell, everything smells really strong, little crampy and occasionally nauseous. This will hopefully be baby number 4 for us!

Melusina123 · 11/01/2025 12:30

@Hen2000 thanks, I've been wondering about the seabands, on the one hand I don't really believe in acupressure; on the other I'm willing to try anything!

@thismotherhoodthing I had a subchorionic haematoma which fortunately resolved itself by 12 wks. Are you before 6 weeks? Some EPAUs don't scan before 6 weeks unless absolute emergency?

thismotherhoodthing · 11/01/2025 13:13

@Melusina123 so glad it resolved for you. I remember them saying to me that mine could be a haemotoma but they did an exam and said it was an ectropian. I am 6+5 today, or possible 6+6 as my last period was a bit stop-start at the beginning. A bit more bleeding today, this time brown in colour. I had already booked an early scan this week so I will just try and get to that, I just don't have a good feeling really

Oh I must give bundaberg a try. I have never heard of it. I bet it tastes like heaven compared to the cheap Tesco one!

Melusina123 · 11/01/2025 15:10

@Mudonstairs yeah it's good stuff. 😂 Less sugar than some others too. Most of the bigger supermarkets have it these days. I end up drinking a lot of lucozade but I'm not sure it helps much.

@thismotherhoodthing I think a little bit of brown bleeding isn't necessarily a bad sign. I can't remember the exact stats but I did once find a stat that by far most early pregnancy bleeding actually does resolve rather than ending in miscarriage, so fingers crossed. But if you're 6+5 I'm VERY surprised they won't scan you! Weird.

Ranamo · 11/01/2025 16:10

Ranamo · 11/01/2025 16:13

thismotherhoodthing · 11/01/2025 16:52

@Melusina123 me too but I figure it's out of my hands so now I've tried EPAU im just going with it. Have had some brown and some light red. Fingers crossed it's just the same as last time

thismotherhoodthing · 11/01/2025 16:53

@Ranamo sorry sorry that has happened to you. Keeping everything crossed for you

ShrutiV · 11/01/2025 17:04

Hi guys,

I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. I am a little anxious as I haven’t had any of the common symptoms of being pregnant i.e. morning sickness/nausea. I’ve just about had fatigue and my soreness of breasts are coming and going? Should I be worried or is this normal?

RainbowSunshine21 · 11/01/2025 17:14

I’ve just taken a test but not sure if this would be too faint? I’m 2 days late & last period was 8th December. Would this be too weak for 5 weeks? Xx
