I'm dipping out of this mumsnet thread as it's hard to keep up with the messages.. hopefully see you all on the Whatsapp chat that is up and running! Xx

Hi ladies, I tested positive today and am still in shock. AF isn’t due until Sunday so I think I will wait until Sunday and test again with a test from a new box to be sure. I am excited and scared! This would be our second baby but my first pregnancy ended with an early loss so I think I’m going to be anxious for a while. I conceived 2nd cycle with all of my pregnancies and I still am in disbelief!

Wishing all of you sticky babies! 🤞🏼

Eliffant · 10/01/2025 16:24

I've been given a booking appointment but it's on a day I have training at work, so I rang the number on the appointment letter, only to be told (after 15 minutes on hold) that they don't deal with midwife appointments. They gave me the number to ring, but when I rang I was told that that was also the wrong number but they gave me a 3rd number to ring. Rang that number and was on hold for half an hour before I gave up. At this rate I'll have had the baby before I manage to get a booking appointment sorted! 😐

@Mals2022 yes it's looking like we are pretty much the exact same due date aren't we ! So glad I have booked the earlier scan as another 3 weeks was feeling like too long. I have paid the deposit for the one at 9 weeks too so all being well I'll have another one then. Wasn't planning on doing two but hey.

You'll have to let me know how you get on and I'll do the same

Oh yeah 3 weeks is definitely too long! Yes please do and I'll do the same😊

Anyone else just wishing time away 🙈 Im a nervous wreck since I had an early miscarriage in August. 10 or 11 dpo today lines are progressing so well on tests but Im just wishing time away till Im past when my period is late. My own fault for testing so early I know 🙈 Im absolutely so happy but Im also equally terrified about another loss. Every twinge or feeling I get Im overthinking

I'm wishing time away as well. It feels like every day lasts a week and I just want to get to the second trimester and have all the scans done and everything be fine. Just feel like I'm wishing my life away trying to get through this trimester.

My hospital is also SO BAD about this. Rescheduling antenatal appointments inevitably involves being bounced from the antenatal booking line to the central bookings line until someone picks up on antenatal! 🙄 Hopefully you manage to get it sorted out.

PlanBea · 10/01/2025 18:45

@MoreCoffeePlzz thanks! The early pregnancy unit don't need to see me again, now I know it's in the right place I might wait until after the 12 week scan for a scan between then and 20 weeks.

@Itonlytakesone thanks! They were super reassuring. It is such a relief to know everything is progressing (though worrying that my due date is now DS' first day of school! 🥴)

PlanBea · 10/01/2025 18:50

@Eliffant could you call your GP? They were the one who gave me the right number for my midwives. Or if you're comfortable saying what hospital you're at someone here might know more?

camelinastorm · 10/01/2025 19:28

Had my scan today sadly they couldn't see a fetal pole and I was measuring a week behind so sad, I have had bloods taken and they will see me again on Sunday and for a scan next week 😔

Oh no, how many weeks should you be? I'm so sorry it wasn't the reassurance you hoped. It's not definitely bad news though, almost a year to the day my friend had a scan at 6 weeks and they couldn't see a fetal pole, and she still went on to have the baby! Fingers crossed.

camelinastorm · 10/01/2025 19:47

@Fashionlover123 no as it was IVF it's pretty accurate
@Lemonolive09 hopefully this will be the same but they were not very reassuring
Fingers crossed it catches up and we get a positive bloods and scan next week sad thing is I've had progression in tests so assumed all was ok

They were the exact same with her, quite negative about it and said it's unknown viability etc then she had another scan in two weeks and it was all good. Really hope it's the same for you, how are you feeling physically?

Lemonolive09 · 10/01/2025 20:20

That's great news @PlanBea how many weeks were you expecting/what was the difference?
Welcome to the newbies, I've lost track of the thread a little so sorry to anyone if I've not replied! Thanks for all the advice the other day about maternity pay.
Who do I pm to join the WhatsApp?
I'm feeling nauseous - 6 weeks today, not like I'm actually going to be sick but I feel like I've been reading in the car! which I'm pleased about but obviously isn't pleasant!
I'm thinking I'll call and ask for a scan at 7.5 weeks, so about a week and a half away, or if I can wait for 8 weeks which will be more reassuring for me.

Last baby I had we moved when I was about 20 weeks and when I asked the GP about midwives they just said it was nothing to do with them! I'll ring again on Monday, and I found a 4th number online so I'll get it sorted eventually. Where I used to live I just rang my GP and they sorted over the phone in 5 minutes!

Although if anyone knows the best number for East Riding community midwives I'd be grateful!

@Lemonolive09 I feel fine sore boobs tired but generally great no spotting no cramps this is why we were so shocked with today

thismotherhoodthing · 10/01/2025 20:58

I think I might be out girls. Symptoms started disappearing yesterday and had some bleeding tonight. Just got a feeling.

thismotherhoodthing · 10/01/2025 21:03

I'm have moved areas since my last pregnancy and I don't even know what the opening times are for the EPAU at my new hospital. Does anyone know if they are usually only open Monday-Friday or if they open on a weekend too?

Wisher88 · 10/01/2025 23:38

Good evening everyone
Had my BFP on Tuesday. Have a DD from second pregnancy. End of 2021 I had a chemical so absolutely desperate to get passed 8 weeks and have a private scan.

Lots of things to keep me busy but I find myself just obsessing over the pregnancy and unable to concentrate on anything else so just end up wasting hours of my day.

I didn't test for ovulation, just went based on fertile discharge, and we were on the fence about trying in Dec, but ended up DTD on day 15&16.

I believe I probably ovulated around day 17 which would make me roughly 13dpo.

My tests have all been pretty faint, although seem to be getting slightly darker. I'm sure with DD they were much darker around this time.

I feel envious of people who don't find out til about week 8 or 9, as these first few weeks are so hard.

I agree. I thought finding out in January would be a blessing because I could just hide away but the days and weeks ahead feel so long and it's hard to keep myself busy

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve started bleeding. Is it light or heavy?
i know my EPU is open at weekends so it’ll be worth a try. Can you just pop in or do you need an appointment?

I'm 5w 6d today and have been pretty anxious the last few days. Made the mistake of taking another pregnancy test yesterday just for some reassurance, it wasn't FMU but wasn't that dark of a line.
I'm just terrified of having another MMC - I'm on progesterone so probably wouldn't know if I was to miscarry. I've a scan on the 23rd so just holding out until then.
It's just such an anxious time I'm wishing the days away like a lot of you.

Love to all going through stress and uncertainty 💕

I too am wishing the days away and feel so guilty for it because I already have a little boy 😔
