Hi everyone, just found out I'm pregnant today at 9dpo, I wanted to make a thread for people to join who will be due in September 2025!

@Ncl31 last time we didn’t really tell anyone until after the 20wk scan, except both sets of parents knew from about 6wks because we had to tell them for practical reasons. And I had a physio appointment at 5.5 so I had to tell the physio about it!

I guess I’m not really the kind of person who needs to share for support, and I felt so insecure in that pregnancy (and tbh this one), that I wasn’t ready to go public until we made it through the anatomy scan.

This time, we haven’t really discussed it yet, I guess we’ll see how we’re feeling.

In other news I now have a scan booked at EPAU for next Friday, so that’s the next milestone!

Itonlytakesone · 07/01/2025 11:43

@Ncl31
Iv told my mum and 3 friends (the ones that knew about my blighted ovum last year) they didn't blab last time and it's nice to be able to talk about it to someone

MyGardenDaisies · 07/01/2025 13:48

I’m having sore boobs today and did a few more tests and all are much much darker and appearing immediately now :)

Hoping to see 2-3 weeks on a digital on Thursday (I’ll be 4+6) as it will be 1 week after the 1-2 weeks pregnant result.

PlanBea · 07/01/2025 13:54

I'm 5w5d today and the symptoms have hit. Of course it's the day I'm spending the day interviewing candidates at work but I woke up overnight with cramps, then have been feeling nauseous all day 🤢 happy days!

EmTTC2 · 07/01/2025 14:20

Hi ladies. A wee update. I'm 16dpo now & 4+2. I'm finally booked in for an early scan on 23rd January. I'll be 6+4 by then if all goes well 🤞 hopefully get progesterone that day too. Was dry heaving this morning & my boobs are agony. Hopefully baby sticks 🙏🤞

Just got my booking appointment for 8+3 :)

thismotherhoodthing · 07/01/2025 15:47

last time I had hospital scans at 6 and 7 weeks due to bleeding, then I had booked an early private scan at 8 weeks but they wouldn't accept me as they said it needed to be at least two weeks between scans. So I had to move it to 10 weeks - that was a lovely one as baby was really wriggly and had grown so much. This time I have just booked a scan for 9 weeks as it's the only date and time me and my husband could make without our daughter with us. Not sure how I will last until then!

I've never had an early scan before. My first scan with my son wasn't until 12 weeks. Nervous, but excited!

Ncl31 · 07/01/2025 17:43

The clinic have booked me in for an early scan on 31st January. I’ll be 6+6 then. They’ve warned me they might want me back the following week as they might not see everything they want to.
ive never had an early scan, has anyone else?

SMD32 · 07/01/2025 18:00

@Ncl31 ooh I'm on 24th! I have in my first pregnancy and they saw the heartbeat and measurements lines up. But it was a very quick experience and we didn't get pictures or anything but I didn't need to go back as everything lined up.

VB101 · 07/01/2025 18:42

Good evening all, I hope you don't mind me joking the chat.

I'm 4+5 in to my first pregnancy and as a teacher, stood no chance of not telling work early doors! My head has been really support though and I now start at 10am instead of 8 to give me more time in the mornings to pull myself together and to lie in a bit later. I've just told the students that I've been unwell over Christmas and taking it easy to help me recover which they've all believed so far - I wondering how long it will be before they rumble me as I don't intend to tell them until they notice!

I'm so tempted to book an early scan as the wait to 12 weeks just seems unbearable - how does anyone do it?! I'm also 38 so very conscious that my age could be a negative factor.

alwaystired42 · 07/01/2025 19:16

Nervously joining, got positive pregnancy tests from around 10dpo and the lines are improving, took a CB digital this morning on SMU as I couldn’t find the test when I woke up 😬 and it’s showing 1-2 weeks. I’d be due on today but there is no signs yet. 14DPO today.

This will be baby no3 for us, with a 6yo and 3yo (let the chaos begin 😂)

Im not relaxed at all when it comes to pregnancy, already trying to plan an early reassurance scan although I wish I could just enjoy it as it will be my last baby. Early pregnancy is the worst for my anxiety, wish I could wake up tomorrow at 20weeks so I’d be feeling movements to reassure me.

Hope everyone else is feeling good! Xx

Had blood tests done today (5weeks1 day) and my HCG is 3303! I don't know too much about the levels, but a quick scan on google has offered lots of reassurance for once! Feeling more positive

MyGardenDaisies · 07/01/2025 21:02

@VB101 I really recommend an early scan! I had one at 7+4 with my little one and have booked a scan with this baby at 8 weeks too.

it was just so magical to see the heartbeat and reassuring, and makes it so much more real to “meet” the new family member !

thismotherhoodthing · 07/01/2025 21:03

@rainbow324 did you have bloods done at your GP? I'm hearing about lots of people getting bloods done but it's not something I've ever been offered or thought to ask for

Yes via GP, but for something unrelated to pregnancy. I just mentioned I had recently found out I was pregnant and they added this one in. I don't believe they do precautionary tests, just if required 😊

Rachae · 07/01/2025 21:32

Great news @rainbow324 !

2U2 · 07/01/2025 21:36

With my son I had three NHS scans but also three private (early reassurance at 9 weeks which was amazing as we got a 4d one, the gender one and another 4D in the third trimester). This time I don't think we'll do the early reassurance. I'm not sure why I feel so much calmer this time, may be because my body has done it before or weirdly because I've already got my son. First pregnancy I was checking for blood everytime I went to the loo and overanalysing every symptom 🙁

Can I also recommend "is this normal" which is a pregnancy podcast, I've started listening again this morning.

TTCJJB · 05/01/2025 21:23

Hello everyone! I'm hoping I can stick around too, I'm 4+2 and this would be my second child.

I haven't looked back through the other posts yet, is there a watsapp chat up and running yet?

I don't think so. I'd love to join one as I'm still in a group from my first pregnancy.

I'm happy to set one up if someone messages me their number (I need a contact to be able to join) and I'll share the link ☺️

thismotherhoodthing · 07/01/2025 21:50

@rainbow324 ah that was good timing then!

Yes I'd be happy to join a what's app- is there a way to send number privately?

camelinastorm · 07/01/2025 23:47

@alwaystired42 ohh congratulations, I'm totally with you on the not able to relax , waiting 12 weeks for a scan or even a blood test is mental.
I have booked and early scan in for Friday

Thanks for the podcast recommendation, I’m going to start to listen to it.

Itonlytakesone · 08/01/2025 08:03

@2U2

I'd love to join a WhatsApp. I was in one last year but I had to leave it when my pregnancy failed 😞

MyGardenDaisies · 08/01/2025 08:05

Yes, a thumbs up for the podcast. If you like YouTube, Fleur De Force did pregnancy vlogs week by week too.
There is also a pregnancy day by day book which I read cover to cover in my first pregnancy and found all the science very interesting.

I am 4+5 today, time seems to be going very quickly which I am glad about, buzzing for my scan in 3 weeks and a day!
