@rivierliedje are you going to wait until birth to find out the gender? My mum really doesn't want to know, she wants me to keep it from her if we find out! I think I do want to find out but maybe not just yet.

@GlitteryPurpleMum I have to say it was really nice being in a dry country, every restaurant had a comprehensive mocktail menu so didn't miss the alcohol at all! Probably quite a good place to visit pregnant! Enjoy Cape Verde!

@GCS34 that's a lot of injections!! You trooper! So pleased to hear you NPIT came back positive and a girl. So exciting! I keep chickening out of getting the gender blood test. I don't know why! My scan on Thurs is in the afternoon, and I'll be finishing work for Christmas before I go so it'll hopefully be a nice start to holidays! I'll post an update once it's done. I'm a bit nervous but I've got symptoms still and never had any bleeding so trying to focus on all the signs being that things are progressing well.

And yes I think you're right about this being a normal feeling for first time mums. I think it's finally starting to sink in how much our lives are going to change! I'm the first in my close family and friends to have a little one so it's going to be quite an adjustment.

@CatmumTTC aww thanks yeah it’s been a journey and not over yet but worth every shot (literally!) oh wow a lovely way to end the Christmas period and break up! I think it’s natural to feel nervous. I am too and I don’t know if that will ever go away. My counsellor told me that hard facts in front of you, nothing is telling you they’re not okay. So we have to go with fact not emotion. I was like okay yeah sure 😂

and it quite literally is life changing. Even just knowing the gender is huge and changed both our lives today. Will you find out?

So my symptoms had disappeared but the nausea is here with a vengeance today! I thought I'd been OK as it's just been sickness rather than constant nausea so far but today was 🤢🤢 this is such a roller coaster!

Oh no!!! How long had they been absent for? I felt relatively normal Fri, Sat and Sun, thought either the worst or I’d made it out the other side. Then, like you, got hit double hard yesterday and today 🤢🤢 have you been sick or the nausea? I think nausea is often worse than being sick! How far are you now? X

17nic · 17/12/2024 21:32

Just Sunday/Monday. I'm 10+4 on LMP but the 2 private scans I've had I've been measuring a day ahead. Today has just been nausea - which feels worse than actually being sick 🙈 pregnancy is weird 😂 in a way I'm grateful for the symptoms though as my dating scan isn't until 3rd Jan!

Will you have another private over the next 2.5 weeks or you gonna wait it out? I think nausea is worse than sickness too. It’s horrible. But yea I know what you mean. When you have a ‘good’ day you find yourself wishing for symptoms.

Amazing to see the 12 week scans today, congrats ladies!! And the positive NIPT results! 😄
My 12 week scan is tomorrow at 10.30 (although according to early scan I would be 11+5) , I'm feeling OK , a bit anxious.
I've officially done 12 weeks without any symptoms, I don't feel pregnant and it's not so reassuring 😫 but I'm still positive as it was the same with my son, and my 8w scan was normal. No no reason to panic?!
I will also get the combined blood test results for Down/Edward/Plateau (I feel like I'm the only one who had it? It's part of the normal blood tests in my NHS trust) , which is another worry..

Good luck for your scan this morning!! I think your theory is one I should live by — no reason to think anything is wrong as no signs — but it’s SO hard not to stress still. I think having no symptoms isn’t always as lush as everyone says as I’m sure it comes with worries. But no doubt you’ll get different kinds as you move to T2.

ill also be only 11+6 on my scan Friday going off IVF dates. Going by last scan dates I’ll be 12+2. I think the scans generally are 10-14 but Jusy expect it to be 12 bang on don’t you? So your trust do the NIPT blood test as standard? That would have been nice and saved £400 😂🙈 will you find the gender with that too?

lataraw · 18/12/2024 08:14

there's a blood test component to the 12 week scan - almost everyone has this unless they are rejecting finding out about downs etc altogether (then it's just a dating scan). This is different to NIPT. For 12 week scan the final result they give you is a combination of the scan and the blood test

I'm 11w, second baby!

Ah yes @lataraw is right, it's not the NIPT , but combined with the scan, it gives you results for these same conditions..so no won't find out the gender with it. I don't think I'd wanna know this early actually, but will definitely get a private scan around 17weeks, mostly so my 4yr old can attend one (and to know if we're keeping all his boys' clothes...we are REALLY hope for another boy) 🥰 can't wait to tell him...if all well this morning!

According to my OV dates I should be 12+1 but I was 3 days behind at the early scan.. I'm on my way, and getting very anxious!! It's obviously a blessing not to have had endured nausea/morning sickness, but it does make you wonder sometimes if everything is going as it should. I did get a bit more symptoms T2 and 3, but honestly it was a very easy pregnancy, just a bit of heartburn and hip pain..

Hello! I thought I would finally join the thread! I'm expecting my first baby in July. We went for our 2nd private early scan last weekend (at 10 weeks) and baby had grown lots from our 7 week scan and was busy waving their arms and legs around😂Measured a week ahead at 11 weeks and our guestimated due date was moved slightly earlier. We have our 12 week scan on the 30th so very interested to find out our official due date and excited to see them again. Congratulations to everyone else due in July and sending my best wishes to those having a harder time 💕

Julilie93 · 18/12/2024 15:57

Had my 12 scan, all was perfectly well! Baby was moving nicely 😊
Measuring 12+1 (so exactly as my dates and not 8w scan dates which was behind, phew!).
I feel like the sonographer could have done better with the picture.. 🙈
@ALBXO we are due date twins, 1st July too!

Lovely seeing all the gorgeous babies on your scans.

Today, in what can only be described as a new low, I opened the seasonings cupboard and the smell was so overpowering I had to leg it the bathroom to throw up then fell asleep for an hour.

purplespink · 18/12/2024 22:04

@LifeonMarss oh you poor thing, how are you now?Sad

Has anyone else started to develop a bump? The top part of my stomach is definitely 'bumpy'

Julilie93 · 19/12/2024 06:59

I made a bauble (got it from Flying Tiger..took a pic of the scan and printed out) to announce it with! If it can give some ideas.. although I loved the Etsy cards as well!

I got 2 scan pics, feel like this one was a bit cuter..The other one the face looks really weird 🙈

Congratulations to everyone on your healthy 12 week babies! My scan is at 2pm, I will post as soon as I can assuming it is all ok. Feeling very nervous, not sure why! And I will join the whatsapp after I have told my family and daughter, might do it later as I'm not sure I can hang on any longer even though Christmas is so close haha

purplespink · 19/12/2024 09:28

Glad everyone's scan's went well. @MaSads good luck today, I'm sure all will be fine Smile

Has anyone had any back pain ? I'm nearly 10 weeks pregnant and the back pain I've had the past few days is getting worse, today it is very very sore to the point it's sore when I walk and sit, and trying to stand up is very sore.
