@TheBeesKnee sorry to hear about your fall, how frightening! Hope you've been taking it easy today and managed to get some rest.

My first was born via semi-planned c-section (induction didn't work so they stopped, I had a rest and cs the next day). It was obviously tricky to get in and out of bed but honestly it wasn't that bad. I think I fared better having not experienced any sort of labour so I wasn't as tired as others may have been. Just had paracetamol and ibuprofen- no other meds needed.

Had my 2nd glucose test today and just now waiting for the next and hopefully final scan tomorrow to determine next steps.

Not having a plan for induction or csection is uncharted territory for me so I'm panicking a little but also excited for the prospect that he might come at any time now! As long as he remains over the 10th centile and I don't have GD 🤞

LozC0411 · 28/04/2025 14:28

Iv been on the monitor for 45 mins and I have been having regular tightenings so I’m having a sweep to see if that can get things moving before they insert the pessary🤞

Dullblue1234 · 28/04/2025 15:23

I would take csect recovery over PGP any day 😂
Counting down the days til my elective and can't wait to be rid of the pregnancy aches and pains 🤭

Rainbowsunshine81 · 28/04/2025 15:58

@Toothfairy0113 definitely not, it's horrible when it happens. Straight under the tap for ages til you can't feel your hand anymore 😬

BrightGoose · 28/04/2025 16:14

@Dullblue1234 what kind of symptoms are you having ? How far along are you ?

my consultant appointment didn’t go as I wanted I can’t be induced but they will give me a sweep at 38 weeks and support a trail of labour if I go into labour naturally so I’m ok with that. She’s also increased my OC bloods to weekly as they have risen but still ok

SnakebitesandSambucas · 28/04/2025 17:04

@LozC0411 I know from Mumsnet and other woman I have spoken too. That they ask for the epidural or pain relief before they start an induction or drip? Hopefully the pesseries work for you. I couldn't stand all the waiting about personally and the examinations 😷. But that's my stuff. I'm just utterly miserable as I'm having to go back to the MAU again tomorrow. Can't even stomach water 🤢. Fed up of cannulas and IV drips my poor veins.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 28/04/2025 17:05

@Dullblue1234 yes the pressure suddenly lifting it's like magic. Kinda like that with HG. The placenta gets snipped of ans I feel like a new woman!

Yes exactly!
I'm still medicated for HG too 🫣
Can't wait for tomorrow, when all these pregnancy problems morph into post partum problems 😂😂

39 today, elective tomorrow!

I genuinely feel like my hips will snap when I roll over in bed, if I've sat down too long I struggle to get up and walk, the list goes on! 🫣

BodeAkuna · 29/04/2025 08:20

Hello everyone, I’ve not been on for a while and enjoyed catching up on all your news! I wish I was having this baby today. Sick of being pregnant. I notice reduced movements and then he starts kicking again - I want him safe and here!!

Poster57 · 29/04/2025 14:20

Hi @LozC0411 hope you’re getting on ok. Thinking of you

SnakebitesandSambucas · 29/04/2025 17:01

@BodeAkuna I know it's so frustrating and scary at same time. @LozC0411 hope you are doing well. @Dullblue1234 how are you?

SnakebitesandSambucas · 29/04/2025 17:03

I'm back in my HG meds have failed completely. Haven't eaten and held down water for nearly 4 days. Have +4 ketones and protein in my urine at midwife check up. So I'm back here with a banana bag with an overnight stay. And we are having a heatwave!! Lucky I have a fan 😷🤢

AutumnalPuffin · 29/04/2025 17:53

Really sorry to hear that @SnakebitesandSambucas - thank goodness for a fan! Hope the hospital can sort something out for you!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 29/04/2025 18:51

@SnakebitesandSambucas Hope you're ok ❤️ xx

Oh god how awful. Will they try to get baby out any earlier given all this?

Toothfairy0113 · 29/04/2025 21:27

@SnakebitesandSambucas hopefully they can get you sorted and feeling a bit better ❤️ Thank goodness for a fan!

@LozC0411 Hope you're getting on ok ❤️

Dullblue1234 · 30/04/2025 06:25

The meds are a godsend when they work, and life destroying when they don't. So sorry to hear you're going through it again x

SnakebitesandSambucas · 30/04/2025 08:01

2 bags later and wee still looks like lucozade. I'm just about holding down a cracker. 36 weeks today! So just holding onto to these last 2 weeks as the surgery is the 16th. Feeling miserable and crying though. My poor veins! Lost another 8kg as well. Baby is fine though growth wise just me!!

BrightGoose · 30/04/2025 15:17

I have been to the assessment unit today as had symptoms of uti, not sure there is a uti but what we did discover is baby is breech and I cannot have her turned due to previous sections. Feeling alittle deflated as this will defo affect my chances of a vbac

LozC0411 · 30/04/2025 17:07

Baby boy was born this morning via c section, for health reasons it was under GA however we are both perfectly fine and healthy🥰 Baby Arlo, he weighs a chunky 9lb2oz so the scans weren’t too far off🙈

BrightGoose · 30/04/2025 17:15

@LozC0411 congratulations 🩷 glad you are both well

LeBonBon · 30/04/2025 18:26

Congrats @LozC0411 🥰

Did they do a scan to make sure @BrightGoose? Sorry that it might affect your chances of a VBAC. Is there time for baby to turn on their own at all?

Turns out I don't have diabetes and baby has grown even more from 13th to 19.5th centile - he's just had a last minute natural growth spurt 💙

They said they'll leave me for now but have recommended delivery via induction by 40+6 because of my previous section. Have bought dates, raspberry leaf tea and am walking everywhere to get this baby out before then!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 30/04/2025 18:50

@LozC0411 congratulations to you ❤️ xx

SnakebitesandSambucas · 30/04/2025 18:51

Oh lovely @LozC0411 I had my little girl under GA was a bit spaced waking up but all turned good. So happy for you xxx
