Oh I miss Badger Notes!

I've got a stupid little book that doesn't close because of my 101 scan results (all paper!!) 🤦‍♀️ At least they stopped sending my appointments by mail at about 32 weeks...

I've not had a very comfortable day today. Toddler off nursery so we've done our usual dance class and activities but I've really struggled with back and pelvis pains. Need to slow down a bit now!

Still got my repeat GTT on Monday and hopefully final scan on Tuesday. Doesn't feel real that it could happen at any time now!

I’ve had loads of extra scans too and I get a letter for every single one of them.. As well as NHS app reminders and texts😂😩 Why don’t you have the app if you don’t mind me asking? I asked if I could have a book and they told me absolutely not🥲

Rainbowsunshine81 · 25/04/2025 20:01

I've been out for a couple of hours today to buy few more bits. A friend of mine recommended the frida mom pads, so bought some of those and some the expert midwife bum balm and dribble rash cream.
I'm pooped from being out, definitely feeling more of that pressure really low down.
Pre op for my c section next week and then section the Wednesday after 😬 will also be having my 38 week appointment the day before.

BrightGoose · 25/04/2025 19:28

@LozC0411 definitely! I wish I had asked her to text me my results as she knows it doesn’t work and I want to know my numbers I do have the consultant on Monday so I will ask them and I know if they were too high I would be called in but I want to know !

Yes it’s good you haven’t been called in however you still should know the results asap regardless of what they are! And the badger app is just useless it seems to never work😩

How exciting! Not long now for you then🤗

@LozC0411 It's all of a sudden come round so quickly ❣️

@LozC0411 they don't use badger notes at all at my trust, all paperwork! They've finally set an email service up where you can see your appointment letters so the post has stopped...in 2025!!

With my first baby I had badger notes but moved trusts around 30 weeks and it was even worse 2 years ago for paperwork!

Dullblue1234 · 25/04/2025 21:23

I feel you on the secret section 😂
Mines on Wednesday and only a handful of people know. I was out this evening with friends and had to play dumb 🤭🤭

SnakebitesandSambucas · 25/04/2025 21:52

Hi all sorry for not updating sooner. The labour has stopped gave me some meds. My poor 🧠 I was weeping myself silly. I'm so stressed as I was getting myself into all the worst case scenarios. The head is soo low in my pelvis and my bump has dropped 😬😬😬.. now my oldest is in hospital so I'm darting between home, school, hospital and children's hospital. 🙈🙉🙊. Think I need a holiday! Haven't caught up yet on everyone's posts but I hope everyone is well

GraySweatpants · 25/04/2025 22:28

I feel your annoyance @TheBeesKnee! My MIL has been sending me messages everyday checking in even though we have a chat with them at least twice a week. She even asked during the chat yesterday if there’s an inkling baby’s gonna make an appearance this weekend. Like how am I supposed to know?? It’s not even my due date yet chill out!

AutumnalPuffin · 26/04/2025 01:51

@SnakebitesandSambucas Gosh, that sounds like a lot. I’m glad that the medication has worked to prevent giving birth early but the thought of having a child in hospital at this stage is just awful - really hope they recover quickly and well!

Herewegoagain8 · 26/04/2025 09:31

Hey, hope everyone’s ok today. I’m supposed to be going in to hospital tomorrow to be induced and am only at 1cm. Getting a bit worried I’ll be in there ages and away from my other two little ones for days. Anyone been induced and it’s gone quickly? I was induced with dd but already at 2cm so they only had to break my waters.

I can’t believe it’s happening tomorrow, all getting a bit real now.

BrightGoose · 26/04/2025 10:29

@Herewegoagain8 they might be able to break your waters at 1cm they did with me when I was induced it was a little uncomfortable but manageable

Dojo13 · 26/04/2025 10:46

microwoods · 25/04/2025 12:30

@Poster57hope all is going well with the induction x

@SnakebitesandSambucashope you are being well looked after x

@Dojo13how are you doing? Did you have your section yesterday?

I had my growth scan today at 37 weeks, all is well and he is on the 65th centile so growth is fine. They aren’t recommending induction (thankfully!) so I will just be left alone until baby arrives or until my next midwife appointment at 39 weeks ☀️

Baby boy is here 🩵 born 4.39pm on Thursday weighing 7lb6oz. All went well 🥰

We had our first night at home last night. He won’t sleep in his next to me crib so we are having to hold him constantly at the moment. Can’t deny I am not exhausted after two nights of no sleep 😅 but he is worth it. He has tongue tie so will see a specialist in a couple of weeks. I think I might buy an electric breast pump if anyone has any recommendations? My nipples are already very sore so I don’t think he’s latching correctly.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 26/04/2025 11:09

@Dojo13 😍😍😍😍☺️☺️☺️ so happy for you!!! Do you have any midwifes or breastfeeding peer support around you? The la la leche has a support line you can call. So pleased for you

BrightGoose · 26/04/2025 11:59

@Dojo13 congratulations, hopefully he will settle soon x

I remember the sore nipples I used nipple shields and cream which helped

microwoods · 26/04/2025 13:15

@Dojo13congratulations!

There are some lactation support workers on Instagram/tik tok that I followed that were really helpful! Also you should have an infant feeding support team (if not, you can contact a health visitor too, or ask your midwife for support).

I’m glad they picked up on the tongue tie so soon, can you push for it to be sorted sooner? I think the wait is quite normal on the NHS and I’ve heard of people paying privately, though I’m not sure how expensive that is.

They often say it shouldn’t be painful but IME I was sore for the first week or so despite DD not having a tongue tie and latching ok.

I bought the elvie hands-free pump (only one because they are so bloody expensive!) and it was convenient however I honestly always went back to my madela hand pump which is super affordable. Less convenient because it’s a hand pump but I felt like I had more control. The suction is strong though and can be a bit painful too so it helps to make sure you’re using the right flange size. I ordered a kit on Amazon this week which contained a few different flange sizes and a nipple measurement guide to let you know which one might work best for you (it was a Nursi Luna brand on Amazon) x

Rainbowsunshine81 · 26/04/2025 15:45

@Dojo13 Congratulations 🎉 ❤️ usually when they have a tongue tie can make it a little sore when latching on. Think there's the national breastfeeding helpline to call for advice and support. Hopefully won't be long to get the tongue tie snipped.

Jess2826 · 26/04/2025 16:05

@Dojo13 Congratulations! Lovely news!! 🍼💙🎉

LozC0411 · 26/04/2025 17:28

Had my 38 week appointment today and my midwife comes to the house for appointments which is nice🤗 She did all the usual checks like BP and baby’s heartbeat etc which were all fine. Baby’s in a good position which is always reassuring to know. As I’ve got my induction Monday she has offered to come and give me a sweep tomorrow, which I’m thinking about…

AutumnalPuffin · 26/04/2025 19:33

@Dojo13 Congratulations! Isn’t it wonderful having them here?

@LozC0411 I had a sweep with my first daughter as I was very keen to avoid an induction and it was very successful so I’d definitely consider it.

BrightGoose · 27/04/2025 11:59

Weird nesting behaviour 2- had to bleach all the kids white tops for school because they were annoying me 🤣

Dojo13 · 27/04/2025 13:17

Thanks everyone 🥰 the breastfeeding is going much better. The midwife was happy with his latch yesterday when she visited. Still a little sore sometimes but it’s manageable. I’m planning to combi feed by pumping and breastfeeding eventually so that’ll help as well as if he gets his tongue tie cut.

We’re very much enjoying the newborn bubble at the moment!

Toothfairy0113 · 27/04/2025 14:36

@Dojo13 massive congratulations! Hope ypu guys are doing ok ❤️

@LozC0411 I had a sweep with both of my 2 and it started labour off, defo worth considering.

@SnakebitesandSambucas Hope ypu guys are doing ok and little one is recovering. Glad they managed to stop the labour.. Everything crossed baby stays put until they're supposed to now!

When i've woken up to use the loo at about 6am the 2 mornings i've struggled to get back to sleep because of period-like cramps - 37 weeks tomorrow.

I've just bloody scalded my hand with boiling water and hoping it doesn't blister 😫 If it does i'll probably not be able to go to work this week as I have to wear gloves and use my hands for my job 😭
