I've had an atrocious night here. Didn't get to bed until 1:30. I have a chest infection and a really sore, fat throat that I can't take anything for.

Toddler woke up at 3, vomited all over himself and the cot so I had to take him in to bed with me after cleaning him up, where he proceeded to take 2 hours to shuffle around trying to get comfortable before finally falling asleep 🫠

His dad took him to give me a chance to sleep some more but I'm wide awake and everything hurts, and I've just vomited up my paracetamol.

This is the absolute pits. How do you decide when it's time to call for medical help? The last time I called my GP about a chest infection I was told to just wait it out 😬

BrightGoose · 01/12/2024 09:57

with being pregnant you should be seen, ring 111 if you are struggling or the early pregnancy team for some advice but being pregnant you are vulnerable so no one should tell you to wait out a chest infection because u might need antibiotics.

Im 15 weeks on Tuesday and I haven’t had any movement yet. I’m suffering with my skin so much I’ve broke out in small white spots all over my face but my face is so dry it’s driving me mad

Do you know what I completely forgot about your immune system being suppressed when you're pregnant 🙈 I'm going to call the GP for an appointment tomorrow.

Sorry about your skin, is it just hormonal or do you think the weather is also having an impact?

Does anyone have days where they don't feel anything?
I don't mean with the baby moving, I don't think I've felt that yet. But with aches/pains/stretching/round ligament etc?

Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

BrightGoose · 02/12/2024 06:43

I think only u can answer that hun every person n pregnancy is different if your concerned at all ring the midwife team for advice

LeBonBon · 02/12/2024 08:03

Is this your first baby @Beccaa123?

With my first, not only did I not feel any movement until 21 weeks (could have been later) but all symptoms disappeared after 15/16 weeks. In fact, I felt fantastic! My baby was fine - she's 2 next month.

This time, I'm 18 weeks on Wednesday - just been sick again this morning (coffee set me off), tired and achy everywhere and I've been feeling movements since 16 weeks.

All to say, every pregnancy is different and every baby is different so it's so hard to reassure new mums (when I don't even know what to expect myself!). If you can talk to a midwife or professional that might be best. Sending you love x

18 weeks today and had first movements Saturday night, it's constant now... It's my first pregnancy so very early, or maybe just a big baby😂

Yeah it's my first. I have my next scan on the 20th, I'll be 18+2, trying to hold off until then. But if I don't notice anything over the next couple of days I'll definitely speak to my OB

I've got my next scan on the 20th too!

Please try not to worry - 18 weeks is still very early to be feeling anything with first babies, some do but many don't. As for no symptoms, you might be one of the lucky ones - try to enjoy the 2nd trimester as much as you can x

Hi! I don't feel any aches, pains, or stretching either. I am feeling the baby move but no aching luckily! It's also my first.

It's so hard not to worry, especially when it's your first & no idea what to expect!

Herewegoagain8 · 02/12/2024 12:50

@Beccaa123 this is my third and I still worry constantly. My symptoms have all but disappeared apart from some shooting pains but not every day and I’m feeling slight movement but again not every day. Try not to worry too much, it’s all very normal and feeling movement doesn’t happen till much later with your first. Some people don’t get any aches and pains and sail through. Try to enjoy this part where you’re feeling normal for a while!

codemytea · 02/12/2024 12:51

Has anyone here started to get a little bump? I'm 14+3, and had previously been feeling a hard area around my bikini line but it seems to have moved up towards my belly button and out - looks like I've just had a big meal all the time :)

Herewegoagain8 · 02/12/2024 12:52

@fingerscrossedmumma I’ve been thinking of you, how are you doing? Xx

I’m glad I’m not the only person on my 3rd and worrying constantly. I feel like I’m meant to be really laid back this time! 🙈

Hey! Thank you for checking in - really awful today - I'm expecting the call with my results and I'm just having panic attacks by the phone. We have scheduled an appointment for a TFMR consultation tomorrow so it's all very high anxiety as I'm 17 weeks now and starting to feel a bit of movement :(

Poster57 · 02/12/2024 13:16

@fingerscrossedmumma still following this thread and thinking of you. I can’t even imagine what you’re going through

Thank you! I'm sorry to be such a downer on this thread! I will say though that it is EXTREMELY rare so it's just really bad luck on my part!

Herewegoagain8 · 02/12/2024 13:22

@fingerscrossedmumma aw love, the waiting is terrible. I really hope you get good news. I’ve had a TFMR at 20 weeks and was feeling strong movement by then so I know how you feel. Praying for a good outcome in your case x

BrightGoose · 02/12/2024 13:23

I have defo got a bump especially by the end of day I’m 15 weeks tomorrow. I had some
bleeding again this morning went to EPU and they scanned me saw little one and my placenta is at the front so that’s why I’m not feeling any movement which I did with my last two. but it was very reassuring

I don’t think you ever stop worrying! I’m hyper aware of things going wrong due to several losses but honestly I think it’s just part of being a mum no matter how many times you go through it.

Poster57 · 02/12/2024 14:32

@Herewegoagain8 yes I've had 2 very different losses and I think thats a big part of it. Anxiety seems to come free with motherhood 😂

@fingerscrossedmumma don’t you worry you aren’t a downer on the thread at all. I’ve found mumsnet very supportive when I’ve been going through difficult times. That’s what we’re all here for :)

fingerscrossedmumma · 02/12/2024 16:22

Sadly I just got the phone call confirming the diagnosis so this is the end of the line for me - genuinely thought my miscarriages were rock bottom, but I think this may be :(

It's been lovely getting to know you ladies and I really wish you all the best pregnancies xxx

I’m so sorry it wasn’t better news. I had a TFMR following several miscarriages so if you’ve got any questions please feel free to DM me. I’ll be thinking about you during this difficult time. Be kind to yourself xx
