@Beccaa123 defo I find it hard to notice until I put on one of my bras and I'm like ahhh yeah 😂
I think most weigh gain happens in the 3rd tri.

In terms of movement I'm not feeling a great deal either! I do feel her when I've just eaten but it's still inconsistent and quite muted, I have to been quite chilled to feel it! I think they say with your first it can take a bit longer x

I guess with movement, I don't really know what I'm looking for...I assume at some point it will become obvious that it's a kick.
What are you feeling with the baby moving?

rosecbrm · 11/12/2024 08:50

@Beccaa123 100% I still don't really know, I'm just guessing as it's nothing I've felt before!

I first started feeling like really really light taps/twitches a couple of weeks ago which at my MW apt she said that is like to be baby, especially after eating but only like a couple of times a day. And since then it's just become a bit stronger, but not to the point you'd see it or anyone could feel it from the outside! Again it's inconsistent though!

I think at this stage babies have lots of room still so if they are in a certain position/change position you're less likely to feel it! X

Awww how lovely that you can hopefully feel baby.
Not daily for me, but I occasionally for the last week have been having a sensation, lasts probably not even a second. It's hard to describe but it's almost like a tickle...I'm not sure if that's possibly baby x

rosecbrm · 11/12/2024 08:54

@Beccaa123 that sounds really similar to what I was first feeling! Fingers crossed it is baby and starts getting stronger 🤞🏼x

rosecbrm · 11/12/2024 09:06

@Beccaa123 12th May! What about you? X

Beccaa123 · 11/12/2024 09:08

You're a bit ahead of me then, I'm due on the 21st

rosecbrm · 11/12/2024 10:04

@Beccaa123 lovely! Fingers crossed it goes quickly for us all 🤞🏼

My 20 week scan is on Xmas eve so really hoping all is ok!

Beccaa123 · 11/12/2024 10:06

Aww lovely @rosecbrm will be a nice Christmas treat to see baby at Christmas.
I have a scan next Friday morning, same day we fly back to the UK for Christmas, then my 20 week on the 10th Jan

rosecbrm · 11/12/2024 10:11

@Beccaa123 oh that's lovely! Hopefully you start feeling some more movement before then xx

Chypre · 11/12/2024 10:17

I think I am getting Braxton-hicks in the night. I’m currently 17w+3. Top-left or top-right side of uterus just below the belly button becomes really hard and I can feel like the abdomen is being squeezed on one side. Not painful, just slight pressure and a hard round lump. Or maybe that’s the baby stretching legs?..

BrightGoose · 11/12/2024 10:31

I’m getting braxton hicks to I had one when I had a scan at 15 weeks (because of bleeding) and she said it’s very normal not everyone feels them but I had them so early with my last pregnancy too. I also wake up in the night with a tight ball shaped bulge on my tummy which is the braxton hicks

Herewegoagain8 · 11/12/2024 10:40

@Beccaa123 i wouldn’t worry too much about movement yet, especially with your first although I know that’s easier said than done. I’m feeling very muted movements and probably only notice because I know what it feels like and what I’m looking for. Had my 20 week scan this week and my placenta is at the front which cushions movement and makes them harder to feel until later. It was the same with my first and I don’t think I felt much until well later on and definitely past 25 weeks x

Beccaa123 · 11/12/2024 10:52

@Herewegoagain8 it's so hard, I know logically I shouldn't be worried but that doesn't stop me!
Oh ok, so you have an anterior placenta? I haven't been told where mine is, I should try and remember to ask that next week.
I honestly thought the worry would leave with the first trimester, but sadly my brain hasn't worked that way!
Did everything go well at your scan?

Aw, it’s really hard and the worry doesn’t really leave the whole time and then you find more to worry about when they’re here. Yeah I’ve got an anterior placenta but I specifically asked her at the scan so just ask the sonographer if you want to know.

My scan went well thank you but she couldn’t get a look at baby’s face as their hands were in the way so I’m still worried! I’ve had a lot of losses in the past though up to 20 weeks so pregnancy is always a worrying time for me x

Beccaa123 · 11/12/2024 07:55

Has anyone not put on weight? I assumed I would have put something on by now.
I lost around 2kgs in the first trimester because I was hardly eating and don't seem to have put any of it back on.
Also I know people's breasts tend to get bigger with pregnancy, have anyone's not yet?
I am 17 weeks today.

I’m exactly the same, 17 weeks and lost 8lb in first trimester and although the weight loss has stopped, I’m yet to gain anything

Jess2826 · 11/12/2024 17:55

I've not weighed myself for a couple of weeks now but at about 14 weeks I was 3kg less than what I was before I was pregnant. I blame that on not being able to eat properly which i am able to do now.

Camia · 12/12/2024 15:00

17+1 today and just found out we're having a boy! That makes 3 boys under 5, my house is going to be pure chaos 😂 How is everyone else doing?

Awww lovely...chaos but fun?! I'm also 17+1
I went to see my doctor today because I had a sharp pain in my right side when I woke up this morning. She scanned everything was good, she reckons it was just gas 🙈
But baby was breech, I know it isn't a concern yet, but was also breech at my last scan, so either baby isn't moving much, or I've been unlucky when I get a scan!

microwoods · 12/12/2024 18:35

Congratulations @Camia! We found out recently that we're having a little boy too. We currently have a DD (19 months) so will be nice for her to have a little brother to boss around 😂

Camia · 13/12/2024 15:38

@Beccaa123 I think it will be fun! Definitely a handful but in a good way. My 2 other boys are both absolutely wild but such sweethearts. And I had the same thing happen with my second baby, even though I could feel him flipping around all over the place he happened to be breech in several scans. He did settle head down perfectly fine towards the end though.

@microwoods Thank you, and congratulations on your boy too! It must be that age gap, my second son is 20 months and I can already tell he's going to be the bossiest big brother 😂 He already tries to boss around the adults so he'll finally have someone smaller than him who might listen
