Hello! Can I join please? Got my BFP on a CB Digital today (after faint positive on a Boots early test) and due date is 18 July. This is #1 for me and DH and very excited, but also nervous as I won't relax till the 12 week scan. Very early days yet. We are off on a 2 week long haul holiday this week, so a bit nervous to spend my early weeks abroad where there's no English spoken. Have sorted medical insurance in case I need it and luckily it's got a decent health care system.

I'll be 6 weeks when we are back and will self-refer to local midwives then if all is ok.

I had some yellow cervical mucus with a bit of brown blood when I wiped today? Should I be worried or is it implantation bleeding (am 10 DPO today) and AF would be due 14 DPO.

Snugget · 04/11/2024 13:46

Looks like 8 weeks is better then, thank you for helping calm the impatience 😂

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow @MaSads I hope all goes well.

17nic · 04/11/2024 13:53

@Eirlys75 Feeling OK today, I'm just coming out of a rotten cold though and I'm terrified that's going to affect things 🙈😂 how is everyone managing to distract themselves? I'd like to book an early scan but worried about doing it too early etc 🙄

owlcat24 · 04/11/2024 14:06

Hope everyone is doing well! I have a lot of nausea but thankfully no vomiting. I can't remember being so nauseous this early with my first! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow.

Have an early scan booked for 7+4. Had one with my first at 7 weeks exactly and saw baby and heartbeat so don't think it's too early! My NHS 12 week scan has also been booked but no date for my booking appointment yet.

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow too! So far no symptoms at all, in fact I keep forgetting I'm pregnant.. am I the only one?! 😅
just my boobs have inflated quite a bit already haha (after being deflated with 1 year of breastfeeding!), and I'm getting really sleepy after lunch these days, but that's it.

I know what you mean. Do you have any history of loss? I've had 2 early miscarriages so this time I'm waiting to get my 8 week scan before even bothering to book into the midwife because otherwise it's such a faff.

No very fortunately my first pregnancy went all smoothly, but I did have bad anxiety during the first trimester, it's not as bad this time but I'm still worried of things going wrong.. I had my early scan before the midwife appointment last time (I think at 9/10 weeks) so I knew it was all fine and I wasn't wasting people's time!

Superscientist · 04/11/2024 15:59

I keep forgetting too.

The main reason I've booked in with the midwives early is for the prescription exemption! I'm on regular medication and often need medication in pregnancy for the sickness. It took 2 minutes to fill in the form in the GP surgery.. to save £9.90 a prescription it's worth it! I think I would wait otherwise.

I had a dream the other day that there was blood when I was wiped when on the loo. Bloody stupid to dream of weeing but never mind!

I was hoping to talk to my boss face to face as we are usually both in the office on a Tuesday but he's WFH. I can't work out if it would be awkward to put it in a slack message or wait until the week after when I have my 1-2-1. Last time I was due in the lab the week I found out so I needed to do it quickly so pinged him a "can we talk" message. He did say he always dreads those messages in fear of the person handing in their notice or having bad news. Also want to be tactful as he has spoken about how he and his wife had wanted a second child but it wasn't meant to be

MyLastUsernameWasRubbish · 04/11/2024 16:50

Hi all, hoping to jump in on this thread. I am due around 3rd July according to the pregnancy calculators. Lovely to see so many people at a similar stage. 🙂

@Hoppityhophops thank you for being so honest up thread. I am in a similar position to you; 2 DC already (10 and 8) and also dreading the return to the baby years. I too got rid of all my baby stuff ages ago! The baby will be very loved, but right now all I feel is a slight panicky dread.

Have also had a bit of an inauspicious start to the pregnancy so far; was put on 7 days antibiotics for an abscess, the antibiotics didn't help but did make me feel really sick! Then had to go to get the abscess drained in hospital today and just feeling a bit rubbish. Am hoping that at least some of the nausea and exhaustion is down to that, otherwise I don't think I can cope with many more weeks of this! 😬

Plumchumm · 04/11/2024 18:21

@MaSads Thanks for your advice, glad it’s normal to feel the way I do. And I hope the scan goes well tomorrow, my spotting stopped a few days ago and has stayed away. It could be one of those early pregnancy things for you as well x

@Superscientist thank you for your advice also, sorry you had such a difficult pregnancy!

I literally don’t feel pregnant anymore lol. The nausea was so bad for days and now my symptoms are so mild. So weird how that works. At the moment the only way I know is that I don’t have much of an appetite. I’m not actively sick but thinking of most foods is like ew. I also forget I’m pregnant lol

Pricklypickles · 04/11/2024 18:21

Hi All, just over 6 weeks pregnant here (according to pregnancy calculators my due date is 28th June but I'm on this thread because my son was almost 3 weeks late so expecting the same this time if no issues).
The queasiness kicked in a few days ago. With my first I put on loads of weight around this time as eating was the only way to stop the nausea. I'm lucky that I'm not actually sick, and wasn't in my previous pregnancy, but I'm one of those people that massively fret about being sick , especially in public / ill at work.
I'm supposed to be commuting into London for a work meeting and the thought of travelling on a cramped train and the work lunch is giving me anxiety!

Plumchumm · 04/11/2024 18:22

@MyLastUsernameWasRubbish I also was on antibiotics from 8dpo for a week, for a UTI. Those made me so dizzy lol. Thankfully I felt better after I stopped those. But I still take probiotics (actimel) bc it helped so much.

Plumchumm · 04/11/2024 18:35

Hi @houwseevryweekend congrats! I had brown spotting from 14dpo for about 5 days. Saw baby on scan yesterday was all good. Spotting has stopped now :) it’s normal for it to be implantation around then

Oh thank you, that's reassuring to hear. Hard not to worry about every twinge and spotting now hehe. Glad you had a good scan and could see the bean, must have been a relief.

CadoAvo · 04/11/2024 21:46

I'm going to be 12 weeks on 24th Dec....what do you think the chances are to have my scan on or before that date? Would really love to have it done so we can tell family on Christmas day but obviously will be at the mercy of the NHS 😅

Is it possible to get one booked privately? There's lots of places that do them :) bit pricey but as a one off might not be too bad, it's about £80 where I am x

Yeah ill have an 8 week scan done at EPU but with being 12 weeks on the week of Christmas I just wonder how likely I'll get an appointment before Christmas day. If I get my scan appointment for after Christmas I might get a private one done anyway so we can comfortably tell people as no way would I want to announce until I've seen the baby is well 😅

SlimGin · 05/11/2024 06:05

Joining this thread as I got a positive this morning at 10dpo 🎉
I know it a very early days but as I don't want to tell anyone but DP for a while I will need somewhere to go!
This is my second pregnancy but my DD was born 6 years ago so I have forgotten everything and will have lots of questions 🤣

Around me they do have appointments until the 23 so you could sneak in your dating scan just before Xmas if it's the same around you. They offer it anytime from 10 weeks onwards so fingers crossed for you.

HighSir · 05/11/2024 07:14

Hello, I've sat quietly in the background since getting my positive 2 weeks ago, only 5weeks 3 days and have been spotting since Friday. Starting to feel rather deflated and am patiently waiting for the bleeding to ramp up. Considering booking for an early scan at 6 weeks but not sure if I'll get there. I've seen a few of you have had spotting, hoping we all continue with our pregnancies 💐.

Julilie93 · 05/11/2024 07:14

That's what I did with my first.. my NHS scan was on January 3rd, and I was going to visit my family abroad for New years eve, so I did a private scan the day before we left at 11+4. It was all well, so I felt confident enough to announce it!

@SlimGin Congrats on your BFP!

TrulyMiss · 05/11/2024 10:16

Morning all! Was driving myself mad POAS so thought I'd get my bloods done for reassurance. Well they're not very reassuring at all! It was 53.3 at 4+1 and 65.9 at 4.3... I have always had lower hcg levels, even with my son but it's the lack of increase which worries me!

Nomnomnew · 05/11/2024 11:08

Hello everyone, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with my second. Five weeks today, due 9 July. I’m excited but also extremely worried. I had awful HG with my first pregnancy and was in hospital for much of the first trimester and then very weak for most of the second.

The baby is very much wanted, and I am pleased, but I feel so anxious thinking I might be so ill again. It feels like all my nice winter plans and Christmas are likely to be ruined too 😭fingers crossed it’s not so bad this time, but it is certainly a worry.

congratulations to everyone else also expecting!

Plumchumm · 05/11/2024 11:32

Congrats to everyone who got their bfp 🩷Spotting is normal but id still recommend contacting EPU just so you can be monitored and have hcg bloods or scan if you need it. :)

@MaSads how did your appointment go today? X

BroomAdventures · 05/11/2024 11:52

I’m spotting again the last two days. EPU have booked me in for a scan tomorrow. I will be exactly 6 weeks so I’m really hoping that everything is ok and we can see a HB although I know it may be too early

Plumchumm · 05/11/2024 12:46

@BroomAdventures I hope everything goes well, what colour spotting is it? X
