I finally got my 3+ on digital today, I’m bang on 5 weeks. But I’m stupid and continued testing with boots early tests, and the line is slightly fainter than yesterdays. So now I’m confused. My pee is definitely more concentrated, and I only got 2-3 weeks yesterday on digital so there must be more hormone, dunno why the strips are fainter 😭

just anxious and worried about something going wrong xx

TrulyMiss · 05/11/2024 13:00

@Plumchumm it'd drive you mad! I stopped comparing the lines on the regular tests for this reason. Did a weeks one today (also 5weeks) and was hoping for 3+ but only got 2-3. Am telling myself I've always been a bit closer to 6 weeks before I got the 3+ before, even with my son but obviously still a bit worried...

Superscientist · 05/11/2024 13:06

Hi @Nomnomnew I'm 5 weeks and due on the 6th. I had bad sickness with my daughter and the miscarriage I had in August.
The nausea and sickness started last week. I have been sick three times today. I think I will be back at the drs next week for anti sickness tablets

Plumchumm · 05/11/2024 12:46

@BroomAdventures I hope everything goes well, what colour spotting is it? X

Red & pink! Had some on a liner yesterday but seems to be just when I wipe today. Cant relax at all!

MaSads · 05/11/2024 14:25

@Plumchumm my appointment went well, they did a scan and saw that it is in the right place, not ectopic, and no visible twins which is a relief! . They couldn't see the baby yet as too early but they saw the gestational sac and yolk sac, and I'm booked on for another scan Tuesday 19th . They have given me progesterone pessaries as well so hopefully they help support the pregnancy too! I'm measuring 5 weeks 4 days which is what my dates work out as so we shall see what the next scan brings

Hope you're doing good today! X

I’m sorry to hear you are suffering with the sickness and sorry for your loss. Hopefully you can get something to help with the sickness. I am preemptively taking cyclizine but it’s making me so so drowsy. Really struggling with working today. I’m dreading the sickness arriving but there’s also part of me that is scared that if it doesn’t, that’d be a bad sign. 😖

Superscientist · 05/11/2024 16:14

Thanks @Nomnomnew thanks. I still have some left from my miscarriage so I have taken a couple over the weekend as we had visitors. I think I'm going to have quite a low bar for going to the GP. I think I probably leave it to late and try and muddle through on my own.

Yes I think the absence of sickness would be anxiety provoking. My all day nausea went around 8 weeks with my miscarriage which is when I think I probably lost the pregnancy. Although it was 10 weeks before I knowingly miscarried. I think I'll panic if that happens again. I've been offered an early scan at the epu and progesterone but I'm nervous about that as a friend said it made her pregnancy sickness worse. You can't win sometimes!

I had to have a lie down for 20 minutes yesterday all energy disappeared with no warning thankfully I was working at home! My sickness was worse with my miscarriage but I was nowhere near as tired so hopefully that's a positive sign too

SophieRules · 05/11/2024 16:31

I’m joining this now with the aim of wishing something into existence. Had an early scan today due to MMC recently and abdominal pain. Measured only 2mm, had yolk sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat. I’m very confident I’m at exactly 6 weeks, please wish me luck for my scan on the weekend. Only sore boobs, never had sickness and didn’t with MMC either. Wishing everyone on this thread the best x

Feeling quite crampy today, 5w+4 it's less than period pains though. Just hope it's all OK

Hoppityhophops · 05/11/2024 18:41

@mylastusernamewasrubbish its so lovely to meet someone in a similar position to me. I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten with your health on top of the surprise news. Congrats on your news. I know your 8 and 10 year old will be delighted with the news. We can wallow together for a while whilst we are getting used to the idea of another baby after so long.
Also sending my best wishes to the ones who are spotting and in limbo. I always get anxious until the 12 week scan (always doubt if I'm actually pregnant or imagining the symptoms). I've been very fortunate and never had any spotting or miscarriages. Other than feeling sick for the first trimester my pregnancies are straight forward. This time though, I'm really worried about miscarriage due to my age and general health. I've been goggling risks associated with my age and the odds for everything go up dramatically. I'm also worrying about the birth if it gets that far. I birth incredibly fast and a result always tear quite badly. They told me don't have anymore because of the risk of haemorrhage with the fast births. People call me lucky having such fast births but it's actually quite dangerous on your body. Basically I'm catastrophising.

im 4w+4d and I've had the same today, feels like I have a stitch. I think as long as they're not really intense it's considered normal early on. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow

LifeonMarss · 05/11/2024 19:18

I'm stressed about when to tell work, I work in a primary school so I am on my feet and talking all day and I've felt so nauseous this week that I've had to leave class to go and dry heave so I feel like I need to explain but its still so early

17nic · 05/11/2024 19:22

@LifeonMarss I'm a secondary teacher so I have a similar issue! And the same 4+4! I've not had any sickness yet though. Hopefully you feel better soon ✨️

Superscientist · 05/11/2024 19:28

I'm 5+3 and told hr today and will tell my line manager on Thursday. I'm a lab user so have to tell them early. I also get awful sickness so it helps they know.
Hr and my line manager were lovely when I miscarried too. My line manager cleared my diary for the rest of the week and let anyone waiting for work from me that it would be delayed as I was having to take time off. It was helpful that they already knew.

Nomnomnew · 05/11/2024 20:04

I don’t envy those of you working on your feet all day of unable to work from home, it must be so tough!

Hello everyone, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with my second. Five weeks today, due 9 July. I’m excited but also extremely worried. I had awful HG with my first pregnancy and was in hospital for much of the first trimester and then very weak for most of the second.

The baby is very much wanted, and I am pleased, but I feel so anxious thinking I might be so ill again. It feels like all my nice winter plans and Christmas are likely to be ruined too 😭fingers crossed it’s not so bad this time, but it is certainly a worry.

congratulations to everyone else also expecting!

also 5 weeks & due 9th July ☺️ congratulations!

Unfortunately the bleeding increased this afternoon, managed to get a late GP appointment and he phoned through to EPU out of hours, have spent most of the evening at EPU, bloods, internal etc, sadly I am bleeding from the womb, suspected miscarriage, I have a scan on Thursday morning and further bloods. Held my 8yo a little tighter when I got home, I'm incredibly blessed to have her. Sending positive baby dust to you all xx

Plumchumm · 05/11/2024 22:28

@HighSir So sorry to hear that, hoping for a miracle for you on Thursday morning xx

HighSir · 06/11/2024 06:25

@Plumchumm thank you. Me too x

Nomnomnew · 06/11/2024 06:50

So sorry @HighSir, sending you all best wishes 💐

Lavenderrose92 · 06/11/2024 07:45

i’m 4+5 and feel like the lines are getting lighter 😭 have a scan booked for saturday at 5+2
had very heavy boobs last week but have now settled. Lost my appetite but think that’s from the worry as i had a previous ectopic and lost my tube and really don’t want to go through it again 😭
im hoping when i do another digital in a few days the weeks may have gone up?
sending everyone love and luck on this journey as it really does drive you mad😔

Sorry, it’s so tough. I hope you heal quickly, and wishing you positivity and dreams for next year.

@HighSir I'm sorry to hear your news. It's awful waiting. I had a miscarriage in August similar wait for a scan and more bloods on a Thursday. Unfortunately for me my HCG halved in 15h and there was no sign of pregnancy. As awful as the news was the fact that the wait to find out was over felt like a relief. The optimism pessimism seesaw in the days running up to it was exhausting!
Try to stay occupied today. Lost of self care. I did so much colouring and watching trashy us teen dramas which are my go tos when I my mind needs a break
