Morning ladies! Hope everyone is feeling good this morning ✨️ just after some advice really as I'm a bit freaked out (18 months ttc and we are 2 months off starting ivf...) by the date of LMP I am 4+2 today, but I did a clearblue weeks test this morning, and it's coming up with 3+ weeks?! X

Hello, I was also freaked out by this. It's because it's calculates it from conception, not the first day of your last period. We were also waiting for IVF, so I can sympathise with your situation! The anxiety is awful for me at the moment!

Hoppityhophops · 03/11/2024 12:02

@eirlys75 Awww congrats on the great news. I'm also due 12th July although they always date me earlier in the 12 week scan so I doubt I'll stay at the 12th.
@Superscientist thank you for reminding me what happens. I can't face making an appointment yet so I'll bury my head in the sand for a while longer.

Welcome to all those who joined 🩷

had a scan today to rule out ectopic. Gestational sac and yolk was seen in the right place, thank god 🩷 measuring 5 weeks, I hope it continues this way 🤞🏻

Symptoms have come with vengeance. My boobs are barely sore now but I’m SO nauseous. Constantly. I feel emotional and I don’t know if this is normal but I am suddenly so annoyed by my partner. I don’t know what’s wrong with me he’s done nothing wrong 😭 I just suddenly don’t want to be near him

@Hoppityhophops I have read your posts and I really feel for you. I just wanted to say I was the 4th child with 3 older siblings, similar age gaps to yours. My siblings loved being able to help my mum and look after me. I know that probably doesn't help one bit but just wanted to say x

Duckwars · 03/11/2024 13:09

I'm an absolute nervous wreck but I got bfp today! Yesterday I was sick twice and this morning I woke up feeling nauseated so thought would take a quick test to rule it out but then got a shock when it was bfp.

October we only dtd twice and I thought we had done it too early and missed our chance (had so much going on), turns out nope. Not entirely sure when due date is but I'm figuring sometime around 13th July. This will be our 3rd, the youngest is 8 and it feels like a lifetime ago I done this 😂 I'm worried this one will be MC due to my past but going to keep as positive as I can 🤞

Congratulations to you all!!

@Plumchumm Yay that's great! Was that at the epu? What is your due date? And is this your first? I hated my husband last time haha, he had done nothing but even his sniffing made me absolutely raging. So I'd say it's pretty normal, and it comes and goes. I always thought it was a bit like a food aversion but to him! I haven't had that yet so far this time but we shall see.. poor bloke

17nic · 03/11/2024 13:26

@Eirlys75 thank you for the reassurance! To be honest I'm thinking it's not been long enough to get a 3+ weeks result yet 🙈 sorry you've been going through it too like us, it's a horrible place to be and my anxiety is also running high! 💐

Superscientist · 03/11/2024 13:58

@Hoppityhophops it's quite a few years ago now but with me my mum was 10 weeks with me before she went drs she was hiding it from my dad as they were due to move house and she thought he would panic about finances. Unfounded as a second child to my dad meant the new house was more needed!
If you need a week or two to let it sink in there's no harm with waiting until 6-8 weeks before contacting them. Just take it at your pace. X

@Plumchumm I had some nausea in the week and was sick for the first time in Thursday. I'm 5 weeks today.
I ended up antiemetics in my previous pregnancies do ask about them if it gets too much. I lost 4kg in July with sickness and ended up in a and E because a fall from dizziness caused by barely keeping any food down

Hoppityhophops · 03/11/2024 14:39

@Masads thank you for your lovely message. I started crying earlier at the thought of stair gates and just generally all the stuff needed for a baby. Ridiculous I know. Ihe kept no baby stuff at all. 'm not really sure how this has happened. I've been using an app to track everything for the last 8 years so haven't been reckless at all. I'm honestly so much more tired these days. Our youngest is starting year 4 next September. I thought my primary school days were on the way to being over. I enjoy the relative freedom of having older kids. I enjoy my lie ins. The idea of going back to nappies and teething is making me shudder. I know some people have baby's at 40 but I'm too old for all this malarkey.

LifeonMarss · 03/11/2024 17:44

Apparently I’ve turned into blood hound in last 48 hours because I can smell everything and it’s making me want to be sick, first it was some basil in Aldi that made me heave then some barley water that smelled like cat wee. It’s not helping my nausea

TiffanyBlythe · 03/11/2024 17:59

Hi all, just found this group! I’m due on 30th June 2025, and I’m absolutely petrified so just looking for support. Would anyone be interested in making a WhatsApp group or something similar so we can all stay in contact and be there for eachother? X

CadoAvo · 03/11/2024 18:48

Hello all and welcome to all the newbies 😀

I'm just home from a weeks holiday in the sun which was amazing. Before I left I tested 10-13dpo and then when I got home today I tested for the first time in a week, 20dpo, and the super dark line makes me soooo happy. Felt a bit queasy on the flight out but apart from a blocked nose and being mindful of what I was eating I haven't felt much at all. Which is good as I'm glad the holiday wasn't tainted with sickness/bleeding/other symptoms etc. I'm going to ring EPU tomorrow to see if I can get booked in for my early scan at 8 weeks and hope I can get there without bleeding 🤞🏼

Superscientist · 03/11/2024 19:16

Oh that's brilliant @CadoAvo !
I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday.

We've been out for my fils birthday and was trying my best not to throw up before leaving. I still have a couple of antiemetics left from last time so I took one to get me through. I'm going to tell work tomorrow. It feels a bit weird as it's only 4 months since I last told them I was expecting but I'm a lab user so they need to know and I need them to be understanding re pregnancy sickness.

My in-laws leave tomorrow. I've been trying to intercept the kettle every time it's put not so not to draw attention to the me having decaf. I don't mind about them knowing but my partner doesn't want to tell anyone until we get to 12 weeks and the dating scan.

I'm going to call in at the GP tomorrow to request a call from the midwife. It doesn't quite feel real yet!

CadoAvo · 03/11/2024 20:43

@Superscientist thank you!! That sucks your sickness has started already 😵 I'm also going to tell my boss this week, I have a desk job but I have a good relationship with her and she knows I want a family. I told her early in my last pregnancies so I could have some support if I needed it. And now given my history I want her to know incase it happens again.

It sure is 😊. I'm trying to focus on the circles of control; what's in my control and what is out of my control. Whatever will happen is out of my control 😊. But I do notice that I'm going to the loo a lot more, constantly checking for blood 🤦🏼‍♀️. Hopefully with each passing day, the reassurance will slowly grow! Hope you're feeling OK? X

Morning all 👋🏻 how are you all feeling? Those of you planning on booking a reassurance scan, at how many weeks are you thinking of booking it in for? I was thinking 8 weeks but am starting to feel a little impatient 😂

I’m going at 7+2 as feeling impatient but also don’t want too go too early and have them say they can’t see what they need 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'm going next Thursday when I should be around 7 weeks. I'm a bit nervous!
I've still got very sore boobs, and I've had a few waves of nausea hit but nothing constant.

Superscientist · 04/11/2024 11:04

I filled in the form for the midwives this morning.
I'm going to call the epu about an early scan next week. They said to call them if I get pregnant again around 6 weeks and they will get me in for a scan around 8 weeks.

I've never had an early scan before.

I don't think early scan should be called reassurance scans because they seem to cause as much anxiety as reassurance!
A few days out with your dates (even when "knowing" your ovulation) can cause more anxiety than the relief of seeing something on the scan. A few days behind might be normal or a problem plus there seems to be a whole range of expertise in these clinics from good to abysmal. There was a lady when I was last pregnancy who was told at a reassurance scan that she had lost the pregnancy. A scan at the epu the next day showed a healthy pregnancy.
I think it's important to be introspective about how you might react if there are issues with dates or if there isn't a heartbeat yet. They are so so tiny the measurements come with huge errors and it can be anxiety provoking to be told you aren't as far along as you thought. The longer you can hold out the more likely it is that you will see the information that is likely to be reassuring

MaltipooMama · 04/11/2024 11:16

Ooh can I jump on this too please! Found out Saturday we have our second on the way and my god I am over the moon! Our first baby turns one in a month so we're getting ready for two under two! Have an early scan booked in for tomorrow but I estimate I'm only 5+1 so feeling nervous that I won't see much (in fact I've just posted a thread about it lol), but by my calculations I think I'm due around July 7th

Julilie93 · 04/11/2024 11:41

We were going to get a scan around 8+4..
But I refered to my maternity unit last week and I already received the midwife appointment date!! Will be at 8+1. Would have like to do the early scan before that (just in case it's all my head you know?!), I'd be so upset to start the process with midwives and find out later there is nothing in there..... so we might go the weekend before at 7+5 (first baby I was 8+3 and was all clear, heartbeat etc). So I'm not sure what to do now!

CadoAvo · 04/11/2024 12:01

After 31 attempts to get through to EPU (😆) I have a scan booked in for 3 weeks time when I'll be 8 weeks 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

princessso · 04/11/2024 12:08

I found out I am positive Wednesday 30th :) This is my first pregnancy. I still cant believe it and over the moon. I have some tenderness and fatigue but other than that all good :) x

I know what you mean. Do you have any history of loss? I've had 2 early miscarriages so this time I'm waiting to get my 8 week scan before even bothering to book into the midwife because otherwise it's such a faff.

MaSads · 04/11/2024 12:47

After my gp appointment today, I have an appointment tomorrow midday for an early scan to check placement after some spotting and pain. I'm 5 weeks 4 days today.

Weirdly I don't feel too stressed about it. I'm hoping that the mellow feeling continues for a while.

Hope everyone else is doing OK today and congrats to those joining x
