Morning all 😊

@MaSads I hope you are not feeling too rough with your cold. I keep waking up so early, this morning was 3am again so very tired and more nauseous today.

@Plumchumm the line progression looks good on those tests. Good news about getting a scan booked in too, I am hoping mine will also be before Christmas so we can let our families know when we see them.

@Snugget Hope you manage to get a better night tonight, I'm with you with the nausea, very strong at the moment and cold is not helping one bit x

Hi all, please can I join?

Im 40, ttc for 2 years, and yesterday got a positive pregnancy test! I am officially 6 weeks today, although I ovulate often quite late, around day 22, so think conception could be a bit later than the standard, hence why I think a July due date?

I did do a clear blue today which indicated 3+ weeks today which was reassuring.

i am probably going to do a scan next week.

I have been having regular cramps, today has been the worst. Trying not to overthink, they aren’t super painful but feels uncomfy to stretch my body out, is that normal?

very little to no nausea, which is worrying… and slightly sore boobs, maybe a little tired but nothing terrible so far. trying to take this as a positive!

am still kind of in disbelief. My partners face was so sweet when we found out.

I really want this to work but am a natural worrier and worry with my age that I will miscarry.

looking forward to getting to know you all!!
Lucy xx

@EalingLucy hi Lucy, congratulations and welcome. I’m only 4 weeks but have also had regular cramps sometimes hurts quite a bit. Backache too. Was wondering if others had it too but seems normal. I don’t usually need any paracetamol for it but today I took some just cos it’s so uncomfortable. I keep expecting to see blood but there isn’t any, thank god.

wishing us both a happy and healthy pregnancy! So sweet about your partner ☺️

Tentatively joining a got a positive test today due 6th July. It's pregnancy 3 baby 2. I have a 4 year old and I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks in August.

Nice to see you here @CadoAvo !

I don't know if it's in my mind but I've been a bit nauseous today. I have had a rough time with sickness with both my last pregnancies but it didn't start until 5-6 weeks. I'll be peed off if it starts at 4 weeks!!

Hello! 👋 😃 glad you've joined us here 😊 I think my due date will be around July 9th so only a few days between us!

MyNavyFish · 28/10/2024 18:18

Huge congratulations to everyone! I just had my very first BFP last night - my birthday! Best present ever and I think I'm in shock as I thought it might be a long road ttc. I'm very nervous as by my calculations I am only 3 weeks and 2 days, due on July 12th.

I'm just a bit confused as last period started 30th Sept. I thought I would ovulate around the 16th of October but my ovulation tests were negative. I started to have really painful boobs and cramps so thought I must have ovulated early and my period was on the way (I've not long came of the pill and thought my cycle must be settling). After a week of not feeling right and extremely sensitive boobs I thought I would check in the off chance and there was the BFP! Does this all sound normal? I'm waiting on Midwife Booking Line getting back to me so I don't have any clarification yet. Thanks so much 😊

Hi Lucy!! Congratulations! I've just turned 39 - I got my very first BPF yesterday on my birthday! I've also had horrible cramps . I had really bad ones on Friday where I felt I had to curl up in a ball to stop them. I thought it was PMS as I also have sore boobs. I did a test in the off chance as I could feel a kind of pulling sensation and when I drove over a speed bump I could feel some tenderness in my tummy. It's all very nervewracking but I'm just going to try take it one day at a time. X

Superscientist · 28/10/2024 19:30

I found out about my daughter on my birthday....I was 5 days late and wanted to know if I could drink.
I hope it's a good omen for you @EalingLucy

Ah thank you, and congratulations to you too!! That’s such a lovely birthday present :) And you’re right, one day at a time is the way! Xx

Plumchumm · 28/10/2024 21:47

I have some pale brown spotting when I wipe :( it’s like a tiny dot, nothing on my underwear but it’s happened a few times today and now I’m so worried about it turning into a red bleed. My test was the darkest it’s been today but it’s also the day of my expected period :( just really worried

MaSads · 28/10/2024 22:10

@Plumchumm Could it be implantation bleeding? I had this with my dd at around 4 weeks. Fingers crossed for you x

Could be? I got a positive test 4 days ago though. Hoping it’s just implantation spotting. Thanks for your help 🥺 x

JanetRobertaSnakehole · 29/10/2024 06:37

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be joining you all :)

I had my BFP yesterday and would likely be due around 4th July.

I'm already feeling sick, so I'm dreading this part of the pregnancy!

Snugget · 29/10/2024 08:21

@Plumchumm I hope you are ok this morning, brown discharge early on is really common and as @MaSads said a sign of implantation.

Congratulations to everyone who has just got their bfp's 🥳🥳

narwhalsarereal · 29/10/2024 08:29

@Plumchumm I got some spotting on the day AF was due but then it stopped and alls been ok since, apparently it's very common

MaSads · 29/10/2024 16:43

Got my scan date today, I will be 11 weeks so they said it may be hard to see for the combined screening but fingers crossed it will be ok , 19th December.

All feeling very real now! Have a gp appointment next week to talk about early scan too to check placement, spoke to epu and they were very helpful.

How is everyone doing today? Congratulations to all those with bfps

Sarahlou677 · 29/10/2024 19:16

I know it will be different for everyone but how long are people having to wait to hear after sleep referring?

Sarahlou677 · 29/10/2024 19:17

Sorry self referring

I self referred yesterday (at six weeks) to a hospital and have a midwife appoint in a few weeks.

should I also be trying to book an nhs scan? How do I do that?

That's nice and quick, I think the scan appointment just follows if I remember correctly

Superscientist · 29/10/2024 19:41

I've not approached the midwife yet but in July. I filled in the form at the GP surgery to request the midwife. She phone the next week asked a few questions and emailed me the prescription exemption certificate. I had my appointment the following week at 7 weeks. My date for my scan came through the following week she told me if I hadn't had it in 7 days to message her. I got my consultant appointment through at 10 weeks.
I had a choice of 3 hospitals for the scans - 2 maternity units are equal distance to me and one has the option of outpatient appointments at the local hospital without the maternity unit then giving birth at the main hospital. I spoke with the midwife at my booking appointment about the pros and cons of each option on the back of that she made the referral to the local hospital for scans.

Plumchumm · 29/10/2024 20:37

Where are y’all based? That sounds so intricate. I’m in Scotland and I just had to call the maternity line and they organised my first midwife appointment as well as the 12 week scan there and then.

Sarahlou677 · 29/10/2024 20:39

I'm based in Essex, so.e areas seem very well organised

Hopefully, that would be great!

I did also let the doctor know and they said they would send an appt but god knows when that will be hence the self referral. Last time I got one of those texts I never got sent an appt. And there’s no way to call them. It’s a joke!
