Hi all!

I posted on here about a week ago. We went for our early scan today, which I thought I was about 7 weeks but they’ve measured me at 6 weeks 4 days. Is that normal? She didn’t seem concerned but just wondering if any ladies have had a similar experience? X

Hi! I went for my early scan yesterday and my app said 7 weeks but I was measured as 6+4. The EPU confirmed this was normal and advised that they won’t be able to officially date until 12 due to baby’s size, so by that point it may have jumped a few days, but if not this is also normal, as it all depends when you officially conceived after ovulation x

Hey, I'm in London..my first pregnancy I went to Window to the womb and found it very good (8weeks), I've also heard of Ultrasound Direct being great. For this one I'm going to a place called Hey Baby Sutton, a lot cheaper but well rated on google (I just wanna check twins and heartbeat, no questions or stuff like that really).

Thank you, I’ll look them up Smile

Hi everyone- Hope I'm okay to join! I’m 4 weeks 5 days 😣still very early. Currently feeling excited but nervous don’t want to get my hopes up. Have heard nothing from the midwives yet not sure if my referral even worked! Hope everyone’s doing okay! X

Welcome @HonestPinkTiger ! I am also 4 weeks and 5 days! I’m also nervous about getting my hopes up, just trying to take it one day at a time. Try to keep busy! Are you feeling well?

Frenchtoastie · 16/11/2024 10:10

Just wondered if anyone has had a checking in appointment made yet? I haven’t heard anything from midwives (I will be 6 weeks next week)
I don’t know who to call?

CatmumTTC · 16/11/2024 10:14

Recommend the book "It Starts with the Bump". From the same woman who wrote it starts with the egg (those of you with long TTC journeys might know that one). It's chapter on mental health and anxiety is particularly good for these early stages. Focusing on what you can control, spinning the stats to highlight what usually goes right, not wrong (don't focus on the 25% focus on the 75%). Specifically calls out line progression as anxiety inducing and not worth doing (I did track and tend to agree with the book, information isn't always power). The book is very science and evidence based, goes into the latest research for supplements, caffeine etc. I've read so many pregnancy books and this one feels most informative and novel.

I had mine yesterday at 7 weeks, not sure if it is the same in all areas but I submitted a form online and they contacted me to by phone to make an appointment.
She said I will get a call in the next week to book the 12 week scan.

Triangleflower · 16/11/2024 13:25

@CatmumTTC that book has really good reviews, that’s for recommending I think I might buy!

MrsS11 · 16/11/2024 14:31

Hello, tentatively place marking but I might pop in and out. NHS website is putting my DD at 25 July, this is dc5 after having lost DD at 20 weeks in July (I have 3 living children). So trying very hard to just take one day at a time, and be glad I'm pregnant today. But hopefully we can all be a hand to hold 😊

Superscientist · 16/11/2024 15:04

Hi @MrsS11 I'm pregnant after miscarriage too. Also taking things day by day. Always here for a hand hold x

MrsS11 · 16/11/2024 15:14

Thanks @Superscientist I remember you from the TTC after loss group. It feels very much like walking on a tightrope and trying to not look down. My DH mentioned getting the snip the other day (the baby we lost was going to be our last) and I lost the plot because it meant thinking about all the 'what ifs' that I just can't go down right now. Today we are pregnant 🥰

narwhalsarereal · 16/11/2024 17:27

I've seen my baby today for the first time. Should have been 7w4d but baby measuring at 8w1d.

Saw a strong heartbeat & I'm so happy. Just got to be careful as I have a haematoma on the uterus that could bleed, so no heavy lifting

@narwhalsarereal That is fantastic about the heartbeat , I bet you feel really excited! Will the hematoma resolve over time do they think? How lovely for you to see baby today

Hi Thank you! To be honest feel ok, just random cramps throughout the day if I sit too still. And I’m tired….but I think this may be work so god knows what I’ll be like if i get the full whack of nausea/symptoms in the next few weeks! 😅how are you feeling?! This is my first so feels surreal.

narwhalsarereal · 16/11/2024 17:54

@MaSads they think it should shrink as it heals (they've said it's a bruise) so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

how many weeks are you? even with FMU my lines are nowhere near as dark as the control line, I'm really worried things aren't progressing as they should

I'm just under 6 weeks I think... we're not too sure as I never had a period after my mmc. But there is no way I could be any further along according to when I miscarried. I really wouldn't worry at all to be honest!! Wishing you all the best in your pregnancy ❤️.

owlcat24 · 16/11/2024 18:42

I too had an early scan today (private), all looked good, measured 8+2 (although by period dates I should be 7+4) and saw a heartbeat 🥰. Still haven't heard anything about my booking appointment so will have to chase them next week I think.

Not sure if everywhere is the same but the EPU told me the booking appointment in my area isn’t done before 9 weeks and is usually between 9 & 10. It was done at 8 weeks when I was pregnant with my first. I also haven’t got a booking apt and I’m 8 weeks next week x

owlcat24 · 16/11/2024 19:13

@BroomAdventures yeah I had it at 7 weeks with my first and it was booked very soon after I made a referral. This time though I have an appointment for my 12 week scan but not for booking! So I thought it was a bit odd, but I guess things changed!

That is odd! I haven’t got any appointments through yet, impatiently checking the post box every day lol

I have my booking app next week at 8+1 , and yesterday got 2 letters in the mail, for my combined blood test at 10weeks and my 12 week scan, eeek!! It will be on the 18th december, amazing as we're travelling abroad on 21st to see my family for Christmas, so we'll be able to tell them (all going well, fingers crossed) 😄
