Hi Ladies! tentatively joining, found out on 11th that I'm pregnant

first ever time having sperm near me (same sex couple with donor sperm) and its happened, I feel so lucky!! We honestly thought it would take ages to get the timings right especially with only 1 chance per month for us.

I'm really really early, not due until 23rd/24th July, already planning on having 2 early scans, one before we tell my wifes older children and one before Christmas when we tell our families. I will be 11 weeks on Christmas day all being well.

Congratulations 🥹 how beautiful. My mum was gay (sadly passed early this year), my brother and I grew up with two mums. It was lovely and I’m excited for your family to start too 🥰

winterwalksinwellies · 12/11/2024 06:16

Morning everyone,

Hope it's okay if I join. Got my bfp last night and due at the end of July. We were about to go to the doctors as it's been a year of trying so really surprised and excited that it's happened. 💕

How early is everyone telling their family? After a CP at the start of the year I'm quite anxious but I really want to tell my mum.

SlimGin · 12/11/2024 06:18

Congratulations @lovealways97 🥰 when roughly will you have your first scan?

@Frenchtoastie I wasn't feeling any nausea until I was driving last night! I got awful travel sickness in my first pregnancy.
I want to tell my close family (parents + sister) around/before Christmas. My 12w scan will be in Jan so I'd like an early scan if possible. Might end up telling my mum sooner though!
I'm on the fence about telling my work team. On one hand I really want to tell them as there are 2 pregnant ladies on my team and I want to join in on the pregnancy talk! But I will be 12 weeks early Jan so may wait until after the Xmas break just in case.
What is everyone else doing?

SlimGin · 12/11/2024 06:20

And congratulations @winterwalksinwellies 🎉
I'm with you on wanting to tell my mum, but I want to tell her face to face (she lives 4 hrs away) so will need to arrange a meet up

17nic · 12/11/2024 06:37

Morning everyone, congrats for the new BFPs! ✨️
I woke up with the most awful cramps overnight but when I went to the loo there was nothing there 🙈 I'm really worried now there is something wrong, this waiting is the worst. We booked an early scan for the 24th, so I'll be around 7w2d again that point but I'm not sure I can wait it out because it feels so long away!
@LifeonMarss I'm a teacher too and with how rotten I feel this morning I'm not sure how I'm going to cope today with my classes!
@BeccaBee3 hugs to you, hope you're feeling OK!
X

I told a colleague two weeks ago when I found out. We work quite closely together and the nausea had already started and she was very supportive with my last pregnancy in July. I had a lot of time off in July with pregnancy sickness so I wanted to give her a heads up that I might be unreliable for a while.
I told my boss and hr last week. I'm a lab user for one and I often need quite a bit of time off sick or more wfh time.

We will hopefully have our dating scan around Christmas and we will tell my partners family after that and we will tell my family when I can't hide it any longer! I got to 17 weeks with my daughter before telling them!

MiniMaisy · 12/11/2024 08:59

Hi ladies,
so glad I found this page, hope that’s ok if I join ;)

I got first positive test on Monday morning. I am after FET and this would be my third child (I have 7yo twins, a very successful FET)

I am very cautious still, such early days.. estimated due date July 24th

Rowlandzzz · 12/11/2024 09:43

Recently got my positive 😍 estimated due date 14th July! This will be with my second.
Congrats everyone!!

TrulyMiss · 12/11/2024 10:18

Morning ladies! I got my blood results back this morning and they're really good. Last weeks were not showing anywhere near the level of increase you'd like but this week it has really improved and is well over the minimum expected. Clearly there's lots that could still go wrong but just for now (until the worry sets in again) I'm over the moon!

LifesABeachx · 12/11/2024 11:11

Hi everyone!

Just joining. Hope you are all having a good day today 🤞🏼.
I'm about 5 weeks, EDD will be around the 15th July.
It's so strange this time round, I don't feel pregnant. I have very strong symptoms with my first and had spotting. All I currently have is period cramp-like backache.

Went for an early scan last time at 8 weeks. Does anyone know if an early scan at 6 weeks is just the same or am I better holding off?

Awww this made my hormones do silly things 🥹

CatmumTTC · 12/11/2024 13:40

Hi everyone, tentatively joining too! EDD 18th July. We've had Letrozole this cycle to improve my egg maturity so hoping for a sticky bean this time though lost the last one at 6 weeks so next couple of weeks I'll be an anxious mess. Every time I go to the loo I expect to see blood.

@17nic I've also been getting lots of cramps. More noticeable at night. I didn't get that last time we had an MC though, (just one night of horrendous cramps and then it came away straight away) so I'm trying not to worry about it too much. Just the egg getting comfy I hope! Certainly makes it hard to sleep!

butterfly1511 · 12/11/2024 15:14

I'm 6w+4 and yesterday I was feeling nauseous all day, and today I had it for like an hour and then I've felt find the rest of the day... is that normal? To feel so different day to day?

Superscientist · 12/11/2024 15:33

@butterfly1511 I have been getting it for a few hours a couple of times a week. I'm 6+3. In previous pregnancies week 7 has been when it ramps up but even then there were days when I couldn't lift my head from the pillow and days when I could work semi effectively. This was the same in the pregnancy that gave me my daughter and the pregnancy I lost. With the pregnancy I lost the all day nausea stopped abruptly at 8 weeks and never came back even though I was being sick a lot.

owlcat24 · 12/11/2024 16:07

Has anyone got their booking appointment sorted yet? I have a date for my dating scan come through but haven't heard anything about a booking appointment. I'm 7 weeks today and I think it was about this time when I had my appointment last time. 🤔

Superscientist · 12/11/2024 16:24

I've got mine a week on Thursday. My midwife phoned me last week to arrange it. I'm 6+3 so will be nearly 8 weeks. My pregnancy in the summer I had it at 7 weeks.

MaSads · 12/11/2024 16:43

HighSir · 10/11/2024 19:20

@MaSads I'm feeling a little out of sorts today, on and off nausea, terrible heart burn and bloating and spotting again. How are you feeling? Have you managed to get a better night's sleep? I'm glad you managed to get a scan for Wednesday, please keep me posted X

@HighSir I have been feeling pretty awful now and struggling to keep food down! But my daughter has given me another cold too so have had to cancel my scan tomorrow, I still have the epu next Tuesday though so not too long to wait. How are you feeling today? Has the spotting continued? X

@owlcat24 Mine is not until 28th November and I will be 9 weeks exactly, I think it all depends on your local area

@MaSads I'm sorry to hear you're poorly on top of pregnancy symptoms. I'm doing ok, just taking each day as it comes at the moment. The spotting has increased today, its been a week since I had the big bleed and haven't had a full day of nothing since. Friday still seems an age away. I'm guessing you're feeling the same about Tuesday. X

Julilie93 · 12/11/2024 18:11

Congrats to all the new ones on here!
Still going well for me, no symptoms really, just more tired.. To all with no symptoms it really doesn't mean anything, I had literally no symptoms with my first, maybe felt nauseous twice at 9wks, and it was all fine! But I guess sometimes nausea is the only thing that makes it seem real

@owlcat24 I've got my booking app on Wednesday next week, I'll be 8+1 (was at 9wks with my son) , they sent me the text literally 2 days after I refered myself..wasn't expecting it so quickly

17nic · 12/11/2024 18:36

@CatmumTTC definitely not getting much sleep here either! It's nice to know I'm not alone with it 🙈

I've got my booking in on the 28th Nov but no date yet for the 12 weeks scan. Per the calendar 12 weeks for me is the 27th Dec so I don't know which side of Christmas I'll end up having it x

Pricklypickles · 12/11/2024 19:03

@TrulyMiss yes to the itchy scalp! I am having to wash my hair way more often as I'm feeling super greasy and gross, haha.

@TiffanyBlythe sorry to hear you're not sleeping well at the moment. I'm in the same boat with a mixture of peeing all the time and feeling sick and then struggling to get back to sleep. Hope it passes for you soon.

@Frenchtoastie I'm planning on discreetly telling my boss around 9 weeks. We've got social work events in the calendar in December and I suspect I'll need to bail on some of them if I'm feeling really grotty and sick, so would like to be able to explain myself. I've got 12 weeks scan booked 17th Dec so planning on breaking the news to other family members but the cat is already out the bag to some friends / family already!

@owlcat24 my booking appointment is supposedly this Thursday (I'll be about 7.5weeks) but the only confirmation is the app the hospital uses. I've not had any letter, phone call or anything.
