Unfortunately the bleeding increased this afternoon, managed to get a late GP appointment and he phoned through to EPU out of hours, have spent most of the evening at EPU, bloods, internal etc, sadly I am bleeding from the womb, suspected miscarriage, I have a scan on Thursday morning and further bloods. Held my 8yo a little tighter when I got home, I'm incredibly blessed to have her. Sending positive baby dust to you all xx

Sending you lots of love xx

Just got an positive this morning - think I’ll be due July but I’m still breastfeeding my first so not totally sure of dates 😅🥳

CadoAvo · 06/11/2024 11:21

So sorry to everyone going through awful times. I've been there before, twice, and know how devastating it can be.

Welcome to our new joiners, nice to see this thread filling up.

I'm feeling quite icky in my stomach today. I definitely feel more ill this time than in my previous pregnancies so hoping that's a good sign. The next 3 weeks are going to drag until my first scan.

Duckwars · 06/11/2024 11:32

Sorry to those that are going through a horrible time at the moment, truly hope everything goes well.

Got the date of my first scan, hogmanay! Thinking about booking a private scan at end of the month when I'm almost 8 weeks due to previous pregnancies, I just need to know there is definitely something there.

The bloat is unreal though!

Also very bloated here! Paranoid someone’s going to ask if I’m pregnant because I look it even though it’s all just bloat 😂

I think I’ll also book an early scan so we can tell people at Christmas. Unless I get really ill again in which case I’ll have to tell them pre-super early anyway like last time 😩

Hi, I've been lurking a little on this board and reading. Congratulations to all and I'm sorry to read those that are having a hard time. I had my first scan last Friday at 5+3 due to recurrent miscarriage and some bleeding (I've had 4 miscarriages) my last miscarriage was second trimester too and I retained placenta I spent most of 2022 in hospital with real complications and never thought I'd be here again so I'm not sure when the nerves will settle but fingers crossed this time all is well. I'm on progesterone and it seems to be making all symptoms worse but I actually prefer to have symptoms than not ☺️ the EPU booked me a follow up scan on 15th but my patience got the better of me and I booked a private one Tuesday at 6 weeks exactly and saw a tiny heartbeat 💓 these first weeks are the worst I'll be glad to get them out of the way as I'm sure you all will too .. sending lots of love xxxxx

Duckwars · 06/11/2024 14:42

@Nomnomnew we can always say we've started on the Christmas food early 😂 Hopefully your sickness isn't too bad this time round. I had hg with both my kids and been sick this time since roughly 11 dpo!

Plumchumm · 06/11/2024 15:07

Congrats! That’s so lovely to hear about the scan 🥹 @brisses

is anyone here gonna do the sneak peek gender test? I wanna do it when I hit 6 weeks, hoping everything goes well. I’ve heard it’s pretty accurate if you get it done at the clinic!

BroomAdventures · 06/11/2024 15:31

I had a scan this morning at the EPU and advised the pregnancy is where it should be and my bleeding isn’t coming from the pregnancy but I’m measuring behind.

She asked was I certain of my dates and showed me the gestational sack and a yolk sac but never mentioned a fetal pole? She said it’s just a very early pregnancy. I should be exactly 6w today but she never said how far behind I’m measuring. Back next week again. Hoping I’ll see a HB then.

Nomnomnew · 06/11/2024 15:54

Awh that’s so great about your scan @brisses

I’m glad your sonographer also said yours is where it should be @BroomAdventures - I’d try not to worry about the dates thing, I think it’s so early still that things can be hard to see, and I always find the dates stuff so confusing too!

this is so lovely to hear ❤️

and as for the early gender test i’ve actually heard the opposite that many have got theirs wrong, i have 5 friends that have recently done it and all have been told different by the nhs scan? i guess it’s a 50/50 chance isn’t it!
i doubt we will find out as you don’t get many nice surprises in life and a newborn looks so cute in white 🥰

Nomnomnew · 06/11/2024 17:06

We will wait too @Lavenderrose92, it was a surprise with our first and I liked that we had no preconceptions or expectations about who was arriving!

I've not done one and don't plan to do one however I have read if you do it at home then to be careful if you have males in the house. Their dna can contaminate the test and give a result of boy, which may not be correct. So clean any surfaces before hand and do not let any males assist you in the process 😅

Hi there!
Have been scrolling through the past couple of hours.

Really sorry to everyone that is having a hard time 😞
I’m 6 weeks 2 days today and I’m struggling with anxiety! Everytime I go to the toilet I’m constantly checking for blood. I have an early scan booked in for next Tuesday, I’ll be 7 weeks and one day. Hopefully they can see a heartbeat.

love hearing everyone’s stories, it occupies my worried mind!! xx

DandyPeachHare · 06/11/2024 19:11

I also want to say, I feel a little lonely as it’s only me and my partner who knows. When do I tell my parents and close family!?

17nic · 06/11/2024 19:38

We've told parents and siblings as we've been through it a bit to get to this point and want their support, I suppose it's who you'd want there for you! It's such a tricky decision this early x

I’m there with you! Waiting to tell people sucks, especially when you’re feeling rough or having to fib about things to cover it. You can tell people as soon as you’re ready though - I told my immediate family really early with my first. I decided I would want the support if the worst happened, and it actually worked out for the best as a couple of weeks later I was admitted to hospital and had to tell family anyway!

Oh no! Was everything ok??

I just hear all these bad things like if you tell people before then it means things end badly for you and I know it’s probably rubbish… but it’s so hard. And I’m grateful I’m in this position to be even able to be pregnant it’s just difficult.. x

Oh yes, sorry, that sounded scarier out of context I should’ve put the whole thing! I had very severe morning sickness, called hyperemesis and was unable to eat or drink. I had to be admitted several times before I got stronger medication at 12 weeks, but was then still too unwell to look after myself and had to move in with parents for a bit so they could help me while my husband worked 😫

I’m glad people already knew as it meant we had lots of support, but of course, people would still have been supportive if we had waited to tell them so it’s just individual choice really.

Im sure it’s no more likely that things will go wrong if you tell people early, but I know it’s so hard to put those kinds of superstitions out of your mind when you’re anxious about it all. The first trimester is so tough - not knowing if things are okay or not, no control over anything!

Oh I’m glad everything is better now! Ive heard how hard that can be! So far I’ve only got nausea I’ve not actually been sick.

Ive got a scan on Tuesday so might tell parents after that. I’ll be 7 weeks and 1 day!

I feel the same atm, I just want to tell everyone. I'll be 12 weeks on boxing day so I'm planning on telling everyone on christmas day. Whether I can last that long remains to be seen

That’s a great Christmas present! Have you told anyone or are you telling everyone on Christmas Day? X

CadoAvo · 06/11/2024 23:42

We have told a couple of our closest friends and that's it so far. We are hopefully going to wait until 12 weeks to tell family as it ties in nicely with Christmas, plus having had previous miscarriages means I want them to be able to be excited and not just go "aw that's nice, hopefully it works out this time" 😅

Hampshiremummy2 · 07/11/2024 06:30

Hi all, hope it's ok to join. We found out we're expecting baby #3 on 9th July. Already have a DS who is 3.5yrs and DD who is 5.5yrs. Seem to have felt nauseous from about 4 weeks which I didn't have with either of my other pregnancies. Also I'm so tired by mid afternoon I just want to take a nap which is a bit tricky with work and school runs 😂🤦

Hope everyone having a hard time gets the reassurance they need soon and fingers crossed for sticky beans.
