@TripleESept24 I moved up to size 2 just when she was 10lbs.
I'd say if you getting leaks it's probably time to try ☺️

I'll grab a pack of size 2 next time I'm in the shop! 🥰

Makes me feel better reading all those still contact napping, we seem to have regressed coming up to 11 weeks.

Rant incoming- I'm really sick of health workers making mothers feel inadequate, anytime I mentioned constipation the response I got was "normal for newborns". I can see he is in agony with it and it isn't normal. Give him cooled boiled water, do bicycle massages, give him another 4 weeks before we change his formula. I may as well be drinking from a chocolate teapot. Now reading that they are making ye feel crap for co sleeping. Off they f*ck. They aren't at home with the babies, we are doing what we can do to survive. At least you are doing co sleeping, falling asleep from being exhausted is alot more dangerous. Why are we always seen as neurotic mothers when actually 99% of time we know best! And if one more person says to me oh is he spoilt or put him down because he contact naps they are going to get a high 5 in the face.

Beautiful baby girls ladies. Def size up on nappies, we went to size 2 when he was 10lbs and much better fit. I use the Lidl nappies and have found them great, Aldi are supposed to be good too. Have used other supermarket ones and they are awful. Have been thinking of going to a baby massage class but I can't trust my guy not to roar the place down. @Decaffe My guy is same buggy or car the minute it stops it's eyes open. So if I look around the shops his eyes open if I stop to look at something. Christmas shopping all online 🤣

kc92 · 09/11/2024 11:34

For once we're getting a chill contact nap too - toddler is off having an adventure with his daddy. 🙌 Usually this one gets stuck in the sling for his naps these days.

For nappies, are the Lidl ones more absorbent than the Aldi? My boy is a super soaker and the mamia ones have to be changed constantly on him. He's currently in pampers and is costing me a fortune. 😅 His brother has super sensitive skin so has to be pampers too - between the two of them I'm going bankrupt.

& Has anyone bitten the bullet to potty train an older child with a baby in the house? Need to do it soon but it's so daunting. @santasrubikscube was thinking you might of with 4? 🤞

@FuppinNora preeeeeach - they started talking down to me before I even delivered the child!! Couldn't believe I turned down induction. For some reason pregnant and new mothers are heavily infantalised IMO.

There's usually at least one baby crying in the massage class at any given time too, so you wouldn't be on your own with that!

@kc92 oh my look at all that hair 😍 so cute. I have only used Lidl so far and don't change him between midnight and 7am unless dirty and they are fairly full by then!
I've left DH downstairs with him this morning and it has been hilarious listening to him try to cope getting his own breakfast, go to the toilet and manage the baby. I'd usually step in and help but he annoyed me yesterday. Now he knows how i feel 😂

TripleESept24 · 09/11/2024 12:25

@kc92 I'll be honest I found the Lidl nappies way flimsier than the Aldi ones!! Esme is also a super soaker she wees so much I have to change them frequently. The leakage only seems to be at night (for wees) as she will have had it on for 4 hours

Another full head of hair here and she's been contact napping/cuddled into me all morning

@FuppinNora I need to take a leaf out of your book. 🤣 my DH has both boys while I'm at the dentist - he decided to bring them in to town and go for a walk while I'm here. The stress pouring off him as I headed in was overwhelming. He's truly amazing with them but he gets so flustered when he has the two of them since #2 is so still so new. I don't think he's fully realized I have the two of them most of the day, and still manage to dress them, feed them, do laundry, tidy the house (kind of at least) and cook dinners. Think I need to pull the bandage off and let him see what it's like. 😂

@TripleESept24 ahhh her hair is fabulous!! Did you have major heartburn too??

Decaffe · 09/11/2024 15:37

@TripleESept24 absolutely size up! We had the same problem with leaks but sizing up fixed it!

Good to know it’s not just us contact napping and still having velcro babies!

Decaffe · 09/11/2024 15:40

@FuppinNora We went to the first baby massage yesterday. I was so worried that he would be the only one crying… and you know what? At the start, he was. I had to feed him and he had a mini nap while all the other babies were lying down on the mats beautifully. But then do you know what happened? He woke up and went on the mat for a bit of a massage, meanwhile one by one, each of the other seven babies also had their turn crying or whimpering or wanting to be fed or picked up. I felt sooo much better! Honestly it’ll be fine! 😊

TripleESept24 · 09/11/2024 16:04

@kc92 I sure did! The worst heartburn!! Was necking and chewing gaviscon like it was going out of fashion. Haven't had it once since giving birth!!

@Decaffe fab thanks will defo size.up

WinsandSam · 09/11/2024 16:49

@FuppinNora I've got a screamer too! Was dreading baby massage but she loved it. The facilitator said most classes they're all crying and she can't teach much 😂 so don't worry! For us there were no tears and was actually giggling. May also be good for his poor tummy and constipation?!

Haha I love the husband punishment!! 😂

We had a mega poonami today. Feeding her in the car and realise I hadn't changed her nappy for hours. Bad mum. Even went through my clothes 🤮. Dirty bugger. Lucky she's cute.

lemonsherbert86 · 09/11/2024 20:16

Anyone else's baby scream when you take them out the bath? She loves the bath and is at her calmest when she is in there but is inconsolable when I take her out (complete opposite to my eldest who screamed the whole time she was in!)
I've tried everything I can think of - I warm the towel and clothes so she's not cold, I've tried calming music, singing etc (although my singing is enough to bring anyone to tears 🤣) but there has only been one time in her 7 weeks that she hasn't cried.
I was trying not to bath her every night but due to her reflux she gets covered with spit up every day so I have to really, but it's becoming the most dreaded time of the day now 🙈
She doesn't stop until she is dressed and on the boob for the last feed before bedtime.
Any advice would be appreciated!

FuppinNora · 10/11/2024 08:42

I had to give in to DH and help him, i could hear him on the toilet calling to the baby "I'm here. Hello. Im here".😂You could see the relief when i came down. Ah fluffy newborn hair is the best. I love the feel of it. I keep checking DS for bald spots to make sure he isn't losing his.

I made the plunge and booked a massage class starting 2 weeks. Thanks for the encouragement @Decaffe @WinsandSam

@lemonsherbert86 my guy is same, although stops when he has vest on. Have you tried feeding her while still in towel and then dressing her? Might be the cold room.

TripleESept24 · 10/11/2024 11:35

@lemonsherbert86 Esme also loves it in the bath but hates it and cries when out. She is ok once her nappy and vest is on....

Another opinion/recommendations please. So Esme just has a cheapish bouncer chair from Amazon. She wants to constantly "be bounced" and have motion..... So I thought I'd look at a swing! Saw a lovely one in John Lewis but was pricey at £180..... There are cheaper ones in Argos £44-65.... But I have also seen multi use high chairs?? And think this could save £££ As that's another thing I'll need to buy? Is there one of these multi high chairs that also acts as a swing that anyone can recommend??

Also Esme shat in her bouncer two days on the trot and had a poonami explosion 😭🤣 had to sponge it down two days on the trot and worry about more pricey ones and that happening 😬😬😬

Just checking in - hope everyone is doing okay (and surviving)

My little lady is 7 weeks old this Monday and I am hoping we have hit the 'peak' of witching hour...because its unbearable atm.

She started earlier yesterday at 4:30pm, constant screaming until she went to sleep properly at 12:40am 😫 she's fine during the day but definitely makes up for it in the evening. I'm finding it much harder to cope with it this week too, I'm so tired 😫

FuppinNora · 10/11/2024 16:49

@TripleESept24 can't recommend on highchair front but bought my Joie swing on Facebook marketplace - it is a godsend! They go for about €50.

@BeautyAndTheBump1 hope you are doing OK, that was one of my worst weeks with DS. I felt like packing a bag.

Ye have jinxed me with the Lidl nappies, they've leaked all day today 😂 we were doing so well for the last 11 weeks. Going to try Aldi and if not I guess it will have to be pampers!

lemonsherbert86 · 10/11/2024 18:22

Thanks @FuppinNora I'll try that tonight.

I'm just worried she'll fall asleep feeding then when I get her dressed she'll be wide awake again!
I'll try it though and see how I get on x

kc92 · 10/11/2024 22:04

@WinsandSam what a cutie!!!! Love the outfit - the one downside of having boys is the clothes aren't nearly as nice.

@BeautyAndTheBump1 week 7 nearly broke me too. It just felt harder and baby felt more unsettled for almost no reason. Funnily my friend had earned me week 7-8 was going to kick my ass and I'd told her it was going so well I'd fly through - I did not. 😂

@TripleESept24 we have a cheap Nested bouncer - it doesn't have any swing mechanism but when he kicks it rocks up and down which he likes. Also has him super upright and he likes being nosy of his surroundings.

@FuppinNora you're too kind rescuing him!! I had to go back to the dentist today ( 😭 ) and when I asked my DH why he needed his mother here the whole time I was gone, he said "you don't know how hard the two of them are together". When I say I spat my tea out in disbelief. He's so so good with them but I don't think he's realized we can't give our toddler undivided attention anymore, and he gets stressed trying. It was heartbreaking for me to realize that too, but I see getting a brother as so much better for him.

PinkWatermelon88 · 10/11/2024 23:17

@TripleESept24 i had the Joie swing on my first and she didn’t like it so I sold it on. Wish I’d kept it now! Got this girly a second hand baby Bjorne bouncer, costs a bomb full price and like that I’ve to bounce her myself. Had a cheap hand me down for my first and should have kept it as it bounced her!

good luck with aldi nappies, i love them @FuppinNora i also rate Tesco if that’s any help.

i hate to mention it but .., Christmas! What are ye getting the babies? I know they’re so small but I’ve so much for the 2yo the baby will look neglected 😂

FuppinNora · 11/11/2024 07:48

@kc92 you would wonder how we survive during the day. 😂try The Little One on Instagram for some boys clothes that are a bit colourful. Some of them are a bit out there but it's a nice change from navy, khaki green and blue!

@PinkWatermelon88 thanks will try Tesco also, tried Dunnes and they were horrendous. I may as well have had no nappy on. I've bought my guy a fisher price sit up thing, a jumperoo and a walker. (Facebook marketplace - I really need to stop looking there) All things he will need over the coming months and also looks like Santa was decent!

@lemonsherbert86 how was the bath last night? Any better?

kc92 · 11/11/2024 09:32

@PinkWatermelon88 Have been obsessing over Christmas here. 😂 Main gift is a foldable play mat that should be arriving today. For his stocking I've got the Tiger Matchstick Monkey teething toy, a grabbable ball, and a hedgehog and turtle Teddy from h&m that are the cutest things ever.

If budget allows I want to get him some soft climbing blocks or climbing frame for when he's on the move. Was thinking of picking up a highchair too but don't know if that's cheeky to call a Christmas gift. 😅

Plus wrapping a nappy box in gift paper & making a Dec 1st box for both boys with all the bits I'd be buying for Christmas anyway. Sticking in an advent calendar for the bigger one, a set of Christmas PJs & a Christmas jumper each. & Got a basket of Christmas crafts from the range for €13 to do with the bigger one, and 2 canvases for €3 from Mr Price to do Christmas handprint keepsakes. & The cutest gruffalo Christmas letter set - I keep these in their memory boxes. Plus reserved some Christmas books from the library for it.

@FuppinNora those clothes are too cute!!! Thank you for feeding my late night shopping problem. I'm so jealous of your Facebook market buys too!! I live rurally and there's nothing good within 50min of here. Have been trying to hunt down an out n about double buggy for the last 3 months and they all seem to be up around Dublin or gone within 5 minutes.

Has anyone else's baby started teething? 😭 Have jinxed myself by calling him a great sleeper.

Morning girls, has anyone got their period yet? I've just had some fresh red blood and some cramping..... I'm 7 weeks 2 days post partum and dunno why but didn't expect it this soon.... I suppose I am hardly breastfeeding now!

kc92 · 11/11/2024 11:10

@TripleESept24 yes 😭😭 got it back last week. Started off light spotting for nearly a week and now is a proper period. Didn't expect it at all because it was 10 months before I had it the first time and I'm mostly EBF. Had a moment of total panic that it was implantation bleeding and took a test straight away. Went to physio a few days later and she said HCG doesn't rise for like a week after implantation so I went through a whole box of tests out of panic - thankfully negative!!

Mine was just spotting this morning but then I was in the bathroom about to get In the bath and it started full on trickling down my leg and on the floor! So it's here!!

Glad to hear I am not the only one who's had sex and was paranoid about that too ( I have a big pack of tests but hadn't done one! 😬 )

PinkWatermelon88 · 11/11/2024 14:41

Oh yes dunnes are cat @FuppinNora 😂 maybe I’ve oddly shaped babies though cos I got on great with both aldi and lidl, so hope the Tesco ones work too! I find the aldi nappy cream amazing, a rip off of Sudocreme but without supporting the genocide so it’s a win!

@kc92 the wrapped nappy box is a genius idea!!!!! I was gonna buy a personalised one but that’s a much better idea you champion! Thank you definitely borrowing that idea for both girls ❤️
