Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

Congrats @Bakerbean

Good luck for your section @FuppinNora

Emmaev · 27/08/2024 10:01

@Bakerbean congratulations on the birth of your baby girl 🥰

@FuppinNora good luck with your section. Headphones and ear plugs were the first thing I packed. With my daughter I was in hospital for 6 weeks and it was the fog horn snoring I couldn’t cope with haha

Wanderlust86 · 27/08/2024 10:42

Congratulations @Bakerbean, she's gorgeous 😍
Hope you got some sleep and good luck for today @FuppinNora

I'm 39+2 now and still in the process of moving house. It's been stressful! We officially move out on Friday after spending the last few weeks painting/cleaning the new house. Carpets are down now and sofa gets delivered tomorrow. I managed to start deorating the nursery but still needs work. Maternity leave has been anything but relaxing.

The new house is in a different city so I don't currently have a midwife there. I had to self refer again and now waiting for someone to contact me.
I think my body is going to keep this baby hostage for a while though as I'm still so unprepared/unsettled. At least I hope so until after Friday as all the baby stuff is in the new house.

WinsandSam · 27/08/2024 11:06

@Bakerbean what an adorable little lady 🥰

@FuppinNora good luck for today!! I have mine in 3 weeks and am shitting myself 😂 so look forward to hearing how you get on. Not long until baby arrives (if they haven't already)

TripleESept24 · 27/08/2024 12:53

@FuppinNora I have ear plugs packed 😀

Emmaev · 27/08/2024 15:31

Anyone having any signs yet? I’m 39+1 and nothing. I have a feeling that she’s just gonna decide one day it’s the day and give me no warning at all 😂

Daphnethinks · 27/08/2024 15:39

@Bakerbean congratulations she is gorgeous 🩷 lovely name!

@FuppinNora good luck for today 🤞🏼

SantasRubiksCube · 27/08/2024 16:06

@Emmaev same here, 39 weeks on Thursday and have been desperately looking for signs she may be on the way soon but nothing so far 😅 with my previous pregnancies number 1 and 2 just started without prior signs in the middle of the night, number 3 I knew labour was going to start that night as I had that nervous/excited/butterflies feeling when I went to bed and couldn't settle or sleep.

BakeOffRewatch · 27/08/2024 16:23

Thanks for sharing @SantasRubiksCube i have no idea what to expect having been induced last time. Though midwife did explicitly tell me not to compare myself with others. She did say have paracetamol on stand by for the after birth contraction pains, as they are more intense on subsequent pregnancies, maybe ibuprofen as it’s stronger. I read on Mumsnet once a poster said by her fifth child, the labour was easy and it was the after birth contractions that were hard.

Khanga27 · 27/08/2024 16:24

39+5, had cramps and backache overnight and this morning with some tightening too, but now nothing again except tiredness. Had this for just over a week, thinking things are starting, then they don’t. It’s exhausting! Anyone else in the same boat?

kc92 · 27/08/2024 20:29

Joining the threads slightly late but it's so lovely to read other people's experiences & announcements. 38+6 today so due Sept 4th with our second boy.

@Wanderlust86 I'm also moving house in the next week and I feel like my body is purposefully slowing down signs of labour until we're done! Keep getting stop start contractions at night and I don't think baby will arrive until we finish the move.

Can I ask has anyone had completely different signs of labour with their second? My first was back to back so I had horrific back pain for three weeks before he finally arrived unashamedly overdue via induction. I didn't really have Braxton hicks or cramps whereas they're constant this time. Hopeful this might be a sign he'll arrive on time 🤞

chocolateanddietcoke · 27/08/2024 21:44

39 + 2 - officially more pregnant than I was with my first 😫

Cinai2 · 27/08/2024 21:46

I’m arguing with myself whether or not I need to call triage…I’m 36+4 and I had cramps on and off all day. They are not regular and not severe, but I also feel them in my back since this evening. I was quite crampy at various points in my pregnancy but I’m starting to feel nervous that my boy prepares for an early appearance.

UnicornRainbow2 · 27/08/2024 22:14

@Lillers Thankyou so much for all your advice. I’m getting used to doing the testing now but still very low numbers. So not sure what is happening 🤷🏻‍♀️

If in doubt, always call. You’ll only worry overnight otherwise. Just see what they say 😊

PinkWatermelon88 · 27/08/2024 22:41

@kc92 my midwives told me this week that Brixton hicks are a brilliant sign in subsequent pregnancies as it shows that our bodies are getting ready to do what they need to do!

I had another fluid check today, jumped from 7.5 to 9 so we’re thrilled. But because of the lower fluid last week they’ve pulled me from community midwives scheme and I’m back under constant any led care. Took it hard but look they’re minding us and watching out for us and so it’s for everyone’s safety.

Also! Partner was doing perineal massage tonight and noticed a really obvious prolapse! I’ve had PF issues since #1, which worsened with this pregnancy. I just hope I can work on it post birth and get some level of continence back 🙈

WinsandSam · 28/08/2024 07:46

@Cinai2 aren't you planning an elective section? If so probably worth checking with triage just in case.

@PinkWatermelon88 oh no, poor you! Yes hopefully something you can get sorted after baby arrives. We have pelvic physio therapists in Norwich, I've had a couple of appointments. Not sure if you have them with your hospital?

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 28/08/2024 08:12

Had my 36 week appt with the MW yesterday, had to skip the 38w one so the next time I'm booked in with her I'll be 40+3!

A sweep is on offer on that appy. What's everyone's thoughts on sweeps?

I had one at 39+6 with my boy which did nothing (other than make me cramp and bleed a little) then another at 40+5...and I started with contractions that night. Baby wasn't born until 40+7 though...so it makes me wonder if the sweep put me into an early labour with my body not quite ready which is why labour was 36 hours long. So I'm debating now whether to have one this time or not 🤔

Jojod12 · 28/08/2024 08:27

Hi ladies

Pease can I ask your advise and what you would do as I’m really worrying.

I have been having growth scans as baby has been on the 10th centile since 28 weeks. I’ve had another scan yesterday and baby has dropped from the 10th to the 4th centile in 2 weeks. I think that is a concern and worried now as the 4th is low but the sonographer wasn’t too concerned. She just said they will do another scan in 2 weeks and if he’s the same I’ll then get sent to see a consultant for possible induction. I’m 35 + 6 currently.

I messaged my midwife yesterday to tell her i was concern and she said she will check with a consultant today but they won't intervene yet. I'm just really worrying as its low and what if he drops again in the next two weeks. I feel like he needs to be out.

I'm just wanting a bit of advise as to what you would do in my situation? Would you just trust them and wait the two weeks? x

PinkWatermelon88 · 28/08/2024 08:49

@WinsandSam they’re in our hospital too (thank goodness!) but I was told I won’t be seen till after the birth. So hoping all bits stay where they are until then 🙈xx

Xur · 28/08/2024 11:04

@Jojod12 10% drop is not going to be a big deal, they could have looked at the placenta and found nothing wrong. How do you feel about the pregnancy yourself? Have you had any change in how you feel?
mine dropped from 23% to about 15% and I am having the 2 week scan tomorrow but they also said they were not too worried.

I'm on the other end of that worry with a 97th % baby jumping off the scale so also getting scans every 2 weeks. The sonographers have told me the things to watch out for are sudden and severe changes to percentile, if the fluid is a good level, if the umbilical cord has good blood flow and if babies movements are regular. Particularly the movements - I'm using the count the kicks app regularly to keep track.

If your instinct is telling you you need more regular checks, could you ask for weekly instead? Hoping you can get a care plan to ease your mind. 🤞

Jojod12 · 28/08/2024 11:40

@xur i know I'm probably over reacting but i just think the 4th centile is really low and I know you shouldn't google but it states anything under the 10th centile shows the baby has restricted growth and may need fetal medicine. I'm waiting for a consultant to look over my growth charts, Such a stressful time isn't it. I hope your growth scan goes well tomorrow,

Jojod12 · 28/08/2024 11:56

@kc92 Thank you. Roll on these baby's being born because my stress cant take much more :-)

hol92 · 28/08/2024 11:57

Has anyone else had a summer that's just been full of plans every weekend, we haven't had a chill weekend since may!!! And this weekend is my last full one before I can chill before baby, I'm so sick of getting dressed up and going out when I feel like a massive swollen tired whale 😂 my social skills are just getting worse and worse too, has anyone else found this? 🙈 just wanted to express my excitement of getting this weekend over and preparing for baby girl! It's also my last day at work 🙌
