Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

Checking in as well. 38+6 and my C section is on Monday 😲 just got a call to confirm the time so I'll have a baby in like 72 hours. Good timing as 1) I can no longer walk because of the PGP and I have to crawl up the stairs to the bedroom, 2) a couple of stretch marks have just started appearing so hopefully they don't have time to get too bad (I'm vain, I know, but I live in a hot country and have to wear a bloody bikini every weekend year round) and 3) the itching is becoming unbearable (thank you cholestatis)

HuggingAnIcePack887 · 24/08/2024 03:45

My DH was upset we can't make it to September and baby will be the youngest in his school year (we live abroad but in a British territory and school system works like the UK). And then I pointed out we save like a whole year of childcare and DH's face lit up 🤣

tierneytarny · 24/08/2024 04:28

Checking in as probably the latest due date - 34+5 today and due on 30 September so just sneak in!

Here’s to our loveliest thread yet!

malimoon · 24/08/2024 08:11

I'm 35+1 today, due 27th so also a late one! Have a consultant appointment today though where we may find out if I'll need a c section because of my fibroids so will hopefully know more about the birth plan by the end of the day. Can't believe there's only a month or so of this pregnancy left!

WinsandSam · 24/08/2024 08:29

Also checking in as a later September birth, due 23rd but will be scheduled for section week of 16th 😬

All going well still apart from odd aches and pains. Think I've got everything I need finally. Parter needs to finish nursery so I can get in and sort it.

Have my final growth scan on 6th September so all feels very real now.

I hope this isn't the last thread. Who's going to keep me sane through the late nights, no sleep and emotional breakdowns as a FTM 😂

I'd love to start/be in a WhatsApp group, but like someone else I had to leave as there were around 300 messages a day and it was stressing me out/making me glued to my phone . Shame there isn't a smaller one

FuppinNora · 24/08/2024 08:51

I'm with you @@WinsandSam I would like to keep these threads going as can pop in and out whereas WhatsApp groups stress me out.
Congrats on your baby girl @MudandMoet , she is adorable.
Best of luck on your section @HuggingAnIcePack887 - I'm the same as your DH, trying to get to September for the school year but saving on childcare is a good spin!

I'm 38 weeks today, I'm at the real waddling stage and I'm not getting this burst of energy for nesting. Baby is buried in my pelvis and the lightning bolts when they move is something else! Never had this on my 1st but baby is bigger this time round. I panicked the other day and went to an antenatal class for a refresher 😆I was full sure Dr was going to send me for a section but he told me the other day Vbac. 💩

Lillers · 24/08/2024 09:28

I see no reason why we can’t keep up threads on here once all the babies arrive - we’ll just call the next one “September 24 New Mums” or something! I am in the WhatsApp and it is great in a lot of ways, but yes the slower pace on here is definitely what’s needed sometimes!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 24/08/2024 10:11

Yes I like that idea of keeping it on here - i couldnt think of anything worse than my phone buzzing all day and night with WhatsApp messages!

Pineapplefizzz · 24/08/2024 11:19

Yeah I definitely understand the need for an area with a slower, less demanding chat 🤍 I’m sure we can keep this thread going indefinitely!

Although, I do really enjoy the WhatsApp chat too. My phone isn’t going off all day as I mute it, but it’s nice to pop in and out and feel like there’s a little buzzing community of ladies going through similar things. Makes me feel less alone! X

SantasRubiksCube · 24/08/2024 13:03

Urgh think I'm gonna have to call triage, baby seems very still in there yesterday and today. I've felt the odd little kick/movement but no where near what I'm used to. I know it's best to get it checked but I bet he's just being a little pickle in there 🙄😅

PinkWatermelon88 · 24/08/2024 13:24

@SantasRubiksCube that was me all day yesterday!! Will I won’t I?! So I had loads of super sugary tea and jellies and they started moving loads again. If you’ve any doubts tho go in- they would always prefer to see you 100 times and nothing be wrong than see you once with a big issue xx
sending you kicks and plenty of them soon xx

MudandMoet · 24/08/2024 13:26

@SpicyMoth ah thank you, if you want to know anything you can always message me 🫶🏻It's hard to not share the full experience but everyone's will be so different. I would add that it was very fast but I would have the epidural if I'd have had time - definitely!!

Thanks for the heads up on the upcoming hormone crash - have mentioned it to DH (who has been amazing) so he's prepped 😂 xx

Emmaev · 24/08/2024 13:47

My feet are so itchy, and I’ve got loads of small dots all over them both now. Nowhere else on my body but very annoying specially at night. They’ve been swollen for a couple weeks now, so can only think it’s down to that and the stretching skin?

BakeOffRewatch · 24/08/2024 14:08

It was me who mentioned the hormone crash, I had no idea about it and I was hysterically crying to the midwife hotline on day 4 that my baby was STAYING ASLEEP, with DH caught up in my worries too. She told me and him to just go to sleep whilst baby sleeping as we clearly hadn’t slept all night, or for four days, and then call the hotline back. I can laugh now, but after 3 days of being in this super high feeling bubble I was a mess! DH will be better prepared too!

Yes get checked out @SantasRubiksCube , though totally understand it’s such a faff going to the hospital and tiring!

I can’t deal with WhatsApp either. We have a local pregnancy exercise class and that’s a very small group on a chat. That’s nice, just chatting about the weather and should we go for coffee. It has sometimes had people bringing their anxieties to the group, which is what I can’t handle. In my first pregnancy I joined a group on Facebook around the due date month, but there were anti vax posts “Is anyone else turning down the Vitamin K injection?” or really militant stuff about people’s parenting choices, such as circumcision. Mostly it was nice but couldn’t take the aggro! I joined a pregnancy after loss thread here this year, but again couldn’t handle the constant worry. It is such a balance when we’re pregnant and hormonal, between seeking connection and keeping a nice safe bubble. Especially as a first time mum, best support I’ve found is people 3-6 months ahead and behind as a second time mum. So please stick around @MrsMoggy and @MudandMoet !

Tell your midwife, they’ll do bloods for cholestasis. Mine were really hot on it though I was sure it was heat rash combined with dry skin. I didn’t have it. I’m in London and have been enjoying the rainy and cool weather but when I look at the forecast for next two weeks I feel I could cry. Seraphine have 20% off at the moment so I was going to order some winter post partum stuff but might need to order summer stuff!

WinsandSam · 24/08/2024 14:36

@BakeOffRewatch I know what you mean about the weather. It's so disheartening after it's been so lovely and cool. I just can't cope with it and especially if it is that hot when we go to hospital

Thanks hun, I’ve already been tested for this and thankfully it’s not that. It’s been just my feet for weeks, just very annoying and definitely gets worse with heat. Just taken to moisturising them a lot.

Lalarosex · 24/08/2024 15:40

I am due 1st September but my due date was put forward a week at dating scan. Should be 8th based on knowing the ovulation date and baby just continued to keep up with the growth in line with the 1st! So potentially will be considered overdue but actually not be??

Anyone else feel like the last couple weeks are like the TWW when TTC? Overanalysing every twinge!

Xur · 24/08/2024 16:40

@Emmaev
I think it’s down to blood flow to the feet. I used to think I have a liver issue, I had itches few weeks back. Then when the hot weather stopped I stopped having the itches. Now I don’t have them, but occasionally I will feel an itch after a hot shower, so I actually think it could be due to blood flow. Something to do with the blood flow. From the sounds of what you said it looks fairly coincidental with my tingles.

just to put it into perspective-I still shave my own legs and I noticed when I shave the legs or set the shower to warmer, that’s when I get the tingles in feet. When I shave my legs I lift them onto a wall that is about 50CM so it’s acrobatics for this stage. So that sort of leads me to think that it’s connected to blood flow.

Emmaev · 24/08/2024 17:05

@Xur this is exactly it, I was so paranoid that I had something wrong with my liver but I’ve had 2 blood tests now and nothing was picked up. Definitely feel after a shower or when I’m hot at night they’re far more itchy. It’s not a constant itch, so there is some relief.

I’ve had 2 cramps now one last night and one just now, I’m hoping that’s my body thinking maybe I might start something here! 39 weeks on Monday

malimoon · 24/08/2024 17:37

I went for my consultant appointment today and it was kind of... Not very helpful. The consultant didn't look at or really discuss my fibroids at all, which is what I thought I was there for, and just wanted to schedule me for an induction because baby is big. I had read up about this a bit already at my midwife's recommendation and basically there doesn't seem to be much evidence at all that induction is helpful for big babies, and obviously induction has its own risks around pain and tearing etc, but when I tried to ask about that she seemed to think that I was sort of anti-intervention in general whereas I just wanted a discussion of pros and cons. Ended up provisionally booking in an induction for 39+5 because I thought I could always cancel it. But now having come home I've read up on it again and for example studies have found that third and fourth degree tears are more common in induced labours for big babies, which is the opposite of what the doctor said at my appointment (and one reason my partner thought we might as well book in the induction). So I feel a bit frustrated and brushed off.

I do have another scan on Friday and have been told to go up to the day assessment unit after that and discuss the fibroid situation with the consultant there, and I have midwife a week on Tuesday so will talk to her as well. But a bit of a confusing/annoying afternoon. It's difficult to challenge a doctor on stuff and my instinct is usually to do what they say but I didn't feel like this doctor was really helpful in talking things through the way that I wanted!

MudandMoet · 24/08/2024 19:28

I'm going nowhere @BakeOffRewatch .... will be around for a while, feel like you've all been my friends on this journey since day 1 which has been particularly precious to me as we didn't tell folk until late on in the pregnancy.

The WhatsApp group was too much for me too, this group has been perfect.

Teaching baby girl Lana Del Rey early 🫶❤️🍒

Sept 2024 - Thread 10!
Emmaev · 24/08/2024 21:35

I agree, I can’t cope with a super busy active group. I find it hard to keep ip. This is such a nice pace.

I love Lana del rey @TripleESept24 we were so close to calling baby girl Lana until we found the name we both loved. Also bump super cute 🥰

WinsandSam · 24/08/2024 21:43

@Emmaev @TripleESept24 good music choice! I was also tempted on the name Lana 🫶🏼 we've chosen a different name now though
