Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

@Emmaev @WinsandSam I tried to persuade my partner with Lana as a second middle name but he was having none of it 😬🤣

Me and my daughter who's 20 are totally obsessed, and this little girlie will be too I'm sure 🥰🥺

Cat2022 · 25/08/2024 07:38

Sorry Iv been quiet on here been in a slightly funny mood this past week feeling like I’m against the clock before they suggest induction. Funnily I do feel like my body is taking matters into its own hands and Iv had irregular contractions the past couple of days and overnight lots of pressure so fingers crossed even if I do end up induced at 38 weeks my body is ready.

WinsandSam · 25/08/2024 08:53

@malimoon I'm sorry to hear your appointment went so badly.. honestly, maternity care isn't the greatest. I hope you get what you need at your appointment on Friday.

@Cat2022 let's hope baby is ready to go!! Sounds stressful 😣

@TripleESept24 imagine if we all had Lana's 😂

UnicornRainbow2 · 25/08/2024 09:29

@Lillers Can I ask you some questions? I started the finger pricking yesterday and all my results are very low (too low) This morning my fasting result was 3.6? I also feel tired and not myself. Do you think that’s just because of my change in diet? Did you feel the same?

Hope everyone else is feeling ok and the babies that have already arrived are good 🤩

malimoon · 25/08/2024 09:54

@WinsandSam thank you. I would say broadly speaking my care has been good but there have been two appointments which have felt frustrating for different reasons. In this case this was meant to be a follow up appt with a consultant we'd seen in June, but instead it was somebody completely different who obviously had no idea who I was or what I was there for so it just felt like a massive waste of time! Anyway will talk to my midwife about it next week

Lillers · 25/08/2024 09:59

@UnicornRainbow2 Yeah the first couple of weeks can be really tough - your body wants to use sugar and carbs as its main source of energy because it’s easier for it to convert, so when you reduce them significantly it takes a while for it to realise it needs to use fats and proteins. It can make you feel really lethargic - I remember describing the feeling to people as being like your whole body is being dragged down and weighted to the floor. You do still need to have some carbs with each meal in order to avoid crashing/having your body dump stored glucose and to avoid having high ketones (a whole other issue!), so make sure you haven’t cut the carbs out entirely. Also make sure you’re still eating decent sized meals, so if you’ve reduced the amount of say, rice, make up for it by increasing the amount of protein so the meal itself is still big enough. Aim for a protein-rich snack 3 times a day as well (something like peanut butter on a cracker, a handful of nuts, some cheese etc).

PinkWatermelon88 · 25/08/2024 11:08

@Cat2022 youve loads of time to go naturally, leave off induction if it doesn’t feel right for you. This week I learned in France they class pregnancy as 42 weeks and in Austria it’s 39w. Women’s cycles are so different having an arbitrary date seems so silly. Hope you find comfort in the next few days xxx

Cat2022 · 25/08/2024 11:20

@PinkWatermelon88 unfortunately it’s due to babies growth tailing off so il need to see what my growth scan is like a week tomorrow. I was really wanting to wait for spontaneous labour this time but always said if there was a genuine medical reason I’d consider the induction so just a waiting game right now. Have got a placenta and fluid scan tomorrow so at least they are keeping an eye.

PinkWatermelon88 · 25/08/2024 11:32

Oh @Cat2022 im sorry I didn’t realise. Ah that’s different then isn’t it. Delighted you’re being monitored and you’ll never know maybe the discomfort will turn into contractions today 😍 it’s such a nerve wracking time isn’t it?! Sending you love and a contracting uterus 😍❤️

TripleESept24 · 25/08/2024 13:53

37+2 today they say about "nesting" but also saving your energy........

Exhaustion has hit here!!!! After my little break, I'm glad of this bank holiday weekend i honestly have zero energy to do anything! Could happily lay on the bed and snooze/watch TV all day!! 😴

MudandMoet · 25/08/2024 15:18

Little Meadow Alice pic because I just want to show her off to the world. We popped to get a bit of shopping earlier and everyone was so fussy. The only time she's cried is the coolness of the wet wipe on her bottom and when she was weighed this morning. She just sleeps all the time but I'm sure that will change soon.

I forgot to say the other day, how strange it is to suddenly be able to drink and not constantly be weeing, eat what you want and no heartburn/indy and sleep however the chuff you feel like! For those that are super uncomfortable, it's all coming to an end soon 💕🫶🏻

Demi55 · 25/08/2024 15:23

Hey all, I’m checking in again, I’ve been missing from the forum for a while, we’ve had a rollercoaster of a pregnancy, however, I had an mri last week which cleared our baby girl so I’m joining back in. I’m 36 weeks today so should have a few more weeks of waiting. Congratulations @MudandMoet she is beautiful!

Xur · 25/08/2024 15:24

@MudandMoet she is absolutely beautiful 🤩 the most perfect little girl 💖

how are you finding the breastfeeding?

Lillers · 25/08/2024 16:13

@MudandMoet Oh you are so right to show her off, she really is perfect 🥰

HuggingAnIcePack887 · 25/08/2024 16:42

@MudandMoet she is absolutely gorgeous! Good to hear the discomfort goes away! I keep saying I will miss my bump and DH looks at me like I'm crazy!

I can't walk (thanks PGP), carpal tunnel is keeping me up, heart burn, itching, I'm exhausted! But somehow so so so happy, and I'm thinking maybe we should have a second baby after all. Nature really plays a number on us!!!

rupertbear91 · 25/08/2024 17:34

@MudandMoet she is just perfect! I'm so wishing the weeks away now to be able to not sleep on my poor sore hips 😂😂

hol92 · 25/08/2024 18:09

@MudandMoet she is so perfect 🥰💕

I'm so exited to not be peeing constantly the thing is I'm always mega desperate to go and then I can't seem to get much out but as soon as I'm standing again I'm desperate to go it's so annoying 😂 has anyone else got this?

MudandMoet · 25/08/2024 18:16

Thank you girls. Your time is coming, cannot wait to see more babies appearing soon. Only a matter of days/weeks now and not months... you all got this 💪🏼💚🫶🏻

@Xur I decided against breastfeeding. Had no pressure from the midwife whatsoever and Meadow took to the Aptamil brilliantly with no problems at all (starter pack in hospital and the pre made bottles for the last 1.5 day) she's gone from 15ml to 50- 60ml in 2.5 days - midwife said that's great. My milk hasn't come in yet but maybe that'll happen tomorrow 🤷🏼‍♀️

MudandMoet · 25/08/2024 18:19

Thanks @hol92 that was exactly like I was those last 2 weeks. The wee samples I had to give for my last few appts were a joke they were so small but yet I felt like I could've constantly passed a river!

BakeOffRewatch · 25/08/2024 18:45

I can understand why you want to share so many photos of her @MudandMoet 😍

@hol92 - try picking up your belly? I read this “pregnancy hack” on Reddit and it was honestly a game changer. Pick up your belly, like raise it a bit, takes downwards pressure off and releases a bit more pee. Also stand up once you think you’re finished and sit down again.

Caroline2023 · 25/08/2024 19:19

Oh @MudandMoet she’s so beautiful 😍

WinsandSam · 25/08/2024 19:35

@MudandMoet what a cute little button. Is she your first? Sounds like you've fallen straight into this parenting malarkey 🫶🏼 sounds like the feeding journey is going well and clearly she's satisfied with all the snoozing! I can't wait to sleep properly, not have a full bladder, be able to eat without feeling sick and belching, not feel dizzy, be able to sit comfortably on the sofa.... the list goes on

@Demi55 welcome back! Great news about your mri

PoppingUp · 25/08/2024 20:51

@WinsandSam I think we'll miss the constant burping in this household, it's just become the familiar background noise to our lives 😂

Xur · 25/08/2024 21:12

@MudandMoet fair doos, means also your hubby will be able to pick up more on the feeding! It’s to be honest a blessing you had it easy with the formula choices and looks like she’s a good eater ♥️

I in the other news..leaked from my boob last night and soiled perfectly clean pajamas with it. But it’s not like I can harvest anything…it only comes out when it’s in the stars for it…

mrsbgb · 25/08/2024 21:56

@MudandMoet she is so gorgeous! Well done you ❤

@WinsandSam i can’t wait to sleep on my front again. Baby gets the hump if I’m on my side too long now as well, not sure what he wants from me!
