Saw we hit page 40, so figured I'd get a head start on the next thread just in case!!

Oh gosh, I just thought, there may not be very many more of these threads - I wonder if this one may even be the last?!

HUGE congrats to @MudandMoet on their gorgeous wee one!!
Best of luck on your way home this afternoon/this evening, I'm desperate to ask all about what it was like but I'll avoid that as I don't want anyone to get nervous/anxious about what's to come!!

Super glad you're feeling mostly okay and so so SO happy for you! <3

@Jojod12 I don't think you're over reacting at all, it of course sounds worrying. Keep fighting if you're not happy with what you're being told.

@hol92 I feel the same, been off work for 4 weeks now as it's been non stop!! The only day/weekend of no plans is the one before baby gets here. So many bloody summer birthdays and family events recently! 🥱

Emmaev · 28/08/2024 20:07

Looks like I’ll be induced either tonight or tomorrow morning after my bp has spiked again. Has taken both me and my partner by surprise as we thought we’d be heading home after a trip to triage. But looks like baby girl will be here really soon.
Mixture of excitement and nerves

Daphnethinks · 28/08/2024 20:09

@Emmaev good luck with your induction, hope all goes well and baby girl is in your arms soon 🩷

PinkWatermelon88 · 28/08/2024 20:25

@Emmaev good luck!! Hope all goes brilliant for you. The nerves are normal pet amid the excitement 💕

TripleESept24 · 28/08/2024 21:45

@Emmaev good luck keep us updated! Treliske yes??

Sorry if this is a bit of a TMI post....... But does anyone else's noon feel swollen?

Like it feels puffy and swollen down there! It's not totally uncomfortable but it's different to what it's normally like!! When we last had sex it actually felt really quite sensitive aswell though!!

Lillers · 28/08/2024 22:03

To be honest, yeah? I think? - mostly around the pubic bone though more than anywhere else.
That and just a lot of "pressure" type feelings - Not sure if that's quite what you're meaning, but maybe we're in the same boat? 😅

Yes definitely, everything feels swollen down there, I actually text my neighbour/friend the other day after a particularly difficult bout of constipation 'help, I think I've just pooed my vagina out' 😂 she laughed and said unless anything is actually sticking out it's probably where everything is swollen down there, and I think she was right.

Had my C section on Monday and finally got to bring home my boy today. 7lbs 10 little ginger chunk. Not gonna lie, those first 2 nights were HARD. The C section itself was fine but the pain afterwards was intense and trying to establish breastfeeding is quite the feat. Ne8ng hospital is shit anyway. Now we're home where it's more chilled, DH is with me 24/7 and the pain has become more manageable, things are looking up!

Other women seemed to handle the pain better than me, I was a mess 😆

Grats on the first boy of the group!! :D <3
How's the breastfeeding going now? It's something I'm keen to do so I'd love to know how you're getting on or any tips/tricks you've come across when you get the time to update in between enjoying your new wee one!! <3

@HuggingAnIcePack887 Congratulations! 🩵 What pain killers did they give you after the section? Glad you’re home and feeling better!

Cinai2 · 29/08/2024 05:53

@Decaffe @WinsandSam Thanks, yes you’re right…triage wasn’t too worried about my cramps and yesterday I felt nothing. But it was good to have reassurance.

@Emmaev good luck!!!

@TripleESept24 yes, I feel the same! Not constantly, but sometimes down there just feels swollen and different. I was wondering if I have a prolapse early on in pregnancy and asked a midwife, she said it’s to do with higher blood volumne and swellings/enlargements of our bits due to that.

Xur · 29/08/2024 06:35

@Emmaev
Good luck! I hope it goes well.

@TripleESept24 yeah I’ve heard people say this outside of mumsnet, apparently it’s rather common at this stage.

@HuggingAnIcePack887 congratulations on the baby’s arrival and I wish you a speedy recovery💖

TripleESept24 · 29/08/2024 07:22

@HuggingAnIcePack887 congrats on baby boy!

Glad to hear it's not just me with a puffy noon 😭

Emmaev · 29/08/2024 07:26

Thanks girls! I’ve just had the balloon fitted so we shall see how that goes through the day. Hoping to avoid the hormone drip though

hol92 · 29/08/2024 07:27

@TripleESept24 this is probably too much info but have you had a look with a mirror? Just saying because mine felt very painful and I actually have developed varicose veins down there (sexy!) but then again I've now got them all over my legs, pregnancy is so glam haha!

@HuggingAnIcePack887 congratulations!! 😃😃🩵 hope you feel a little less sore soon xx

Caroline2023 · 29/08/2024 07:48

Congratulations @HuggingAnIcePack887 !

And good luck @Emmaev keep us posted!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 29/08/2024 08:09

Congratulations @HuggingAnIcePack887 the first boy! 💙

Good luck @Emmaev wishing you a speedy process!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 29/08/2024 08:17

Another one with a puffy noon here 🙋‍♀️😂 I have seen physio already and they said they'll check me 6 weeks after birth to see if I have a prolapse. I'm sure if I'm questioning it now by the time I've pushed a human out of it again the answer will be clear 😂

Growth scan for me again today. They've had me in every week since 32 weeks. I alternate between cord flow / placenta check one week and then growth scan the next. Baby was 17 centile at 28+4, dropped to 9.9 centile at 32+5, 8.7 centile at 34+5, so we'll see what she is today at 36+5!

PoppingUp · 29/08/2024 09:22

@TripleESept24 a pal warned me it was like getting lip filler, but downstairs, what an image 😳

@hol92 im pretty sure I have a varicose vein down there too now but have decided to take the very grown up approach of just not looking to check because sometimes ignorance is bliss...

I'm starting to get an inkling of why people prepare all those fancy witch hazel pads and things for after labour!
