Is anyone else suffering absolutely crippling lower back pain? I know this is supposed to happen later in pregnancy but why first trimester? I'm only 11 weeks!

It's so bad at night once I lie down in bed I physically can't get up again without my husband helping me!

Hopefully a normal sign and not a miscarriage one...?

Onthedouble123 · 13/08/2024 07:52

@bouncingblob I know what you mean about getting stuck laid down! I think it's just your joints and ligaments relaxing. I have poor core strength at the best of times so think I'm going to look up some pregnancy pilates type work out to try and get some strength. Xx

Ellsx6 · 13/08/2024 10:51

@bouncingblob I've had back pain the whole time (I usually have it anyway due to my job) but been working less and the pains more? I'm 11+2 today and the last couple days my back pain has been a little more painful. Can also feel it the worse when I get in bed at night

Onthedouble123 · 13/08/2024 16:10

Is anyone else struggling to sleep? Thinking of trying magnesium. Wondering if anyone has tried it and found it helped? Xx

26dX · 13/08/2024 16:20

@Onthedouble123 I do take magnesium but have since pre conception, I do sleep ok aside from getting up a few times to wee and a toddler who still wakes sometimes haha, give it a try anyway x

Hi!

Marking my place in the new thread, not posted in a while as just been exhausted!

We had our first scan with our IVF clinic at 6+5 and saw our teeny tiny baby and a strong heartbeat.

We're now waiting for our second scan with the IVF clinic this Friday, when we'll be 8+5, and hopefully we'll graduate and start weaning off the IVF meds 🤞

I've been in the "if I keep eating all day it keeps the nausea at bay" camp for several weeks now. I'm having to nap every lunchtime (WFH perks), and my bloat is unreal. Caught sight of myself in the mirror while sat at my desk nibbling a biscuit earlier and remembered just how lucky my husband is that I chose him 😂

Hope everyone is doing OK, and I'll no doubt check in after my next scan... The wait is killing me, with both scans it's been worse than the TWW 😬

The biscuit line made me smile 😁.Big congratulations on the heartbeat. Also 8 weeks, here and will be going to first ever scan on Thursday- I've never had one before and it's literally all I can think about. Symptoms so far have been relatively mild- slightly sick some days and then not at all on others. Terrible headache today, which is also likely to be work related. Wishing you and everyone else with a scan this week the very best of luck.

LV1987 · 13/08/2024 18:21

@Fletchasketch Thank you! I had never had a scan either, aside from for my fertility investigations and as they had generally been bad news, I didn't know what to do when a sonographer was finally telling me what I wanted to hear. I genuinely zoned out and he was like "Are you OK, am I hurting you?" I just couldn't believe he was talking to us, and neither could hubby 😂

Honestly it is a feeling like no other, good luck ❤️❤️

Onthedouble123 · 13/08/2024 18:43

@26dX it can't get much worse so I feel like I've nothing to lose! Will pick some up tomorrow. What dose do you take? Xx

I remember this feeling so well with DD, it almost unbelievable that your scans have gone from looking for follicles, to looking at your baby 🥰 enjoy every second

Hi ladies,

hope you are all well. I am 10w5 today and I am just starting to feel so anxious. Don’t really have symptoms at all except for a little rounded mound (2nd pregnancy) and cramps at night sometimes.

Starting to think I should go for another scan in a few days - would be my 6th (partly due to the haematoma) but I just think I wouldn’t know I was pregnant otherwise.

Genuinely hate the first trimester!

Really goes to show how different every woman’s pregnancy is. I am sick as a dog, now on cyclizine because prochlorperazine stopped working. This makes me feel so drowsy but able to keep food down at least. Signed off work. Can barely function at the moment and I’m only 8 weeks.

Anyone else really struggling with constant hunger but too many food aversions and a weird after taste/ hypersalivation.

hampshiremum88 · 14/08/2024 12:18

@sannax so sorry to hear you are feeling that bad.
I'm 11w3d and I've got constant nausea and a horrible taste in my mouth. Doctor gave me some medicine and I'm signed off work for 2 weeks too as I'm also completely exhausted and cannot function.
I'm constantly having fruit flavour ice lollies or squash to take the taste away.
With my 1st pregnancy I remember being a bit nauseous but nothing like this, I can't even remember when it stopped

RaineyNina · 14/08/2024 12:21

Not posted recently, 9+5 today! And full of cold and feeling sorry for myself 😷 absolutely exhausted with it 😴

gg9320 · 14/08/2024 12:24

@sannax @hampshiremum88 feeling very similar, my sympathies - it’s the pits :( Every day I have more food aversions and now the horrible taste in mouth that makes me sick if I don’t have something to mask to taste! I’m also medicated up to the eyeballs. Feel like if you shook me I would rattle (then vomit) 😅 for me it never stopped but got a lot better after 20 weeks such that I was able to reduce to just 1 cyclizine tablet a day. Hoping for the same or better 🙏

26dX · 14/08/2024 12:55

Here with the awful taste in my mouth too! Not the metallic taste that everyone says you get 😂😂😂

Moomoo20 · 14/08/2024 14:06

The only time I don't feel nauseous is when I'm eating and I already feel huge 🙈 I'm only 7w 4 days. I've gone off so many foods though so food shopping is difficult. I'm hoping this is the extent of the sickness though and I'm not physically sick x

Ellsx6 · 14/08/2024 14:59

@HappyGoLucky31
11+3 here still barely no symptoms and also weirdly starting to get anxious. I think it's because my official dating scans coming up. Booked a scan for tomorrow morning just got so nervous again 😣

Ellsx6 · 14/08/2024 15:03

Anyone here keep getting weird niggling pains in uterus? I'm 11+3 today and have had them on and off the whole time. Even though every scan after the pains fine I still can't help but worry when I feel it. It's nothing like a cramp sort of just like a pinching sensation. Lasts a day then goes for a week and will happen again. Makes me so anxious🙄

@26dX @Moomoo20

It’s actually making me feel really down. I’m skipping an important family even this evening because I can’t get up off the sofa.

I’m annoyed at the GP for prescribing cyclizine when I had specifically said in previous consultations that it makes me too drowsy but he said the next option would be to go to the hospital.

Also missing out on quality time with my 3yr old because I can’t function and he’s getting more screen time than is ideal

Rant over. This is (hopefully) going to be our rainbow baby and the excitement has so far been dampened by these symptoms.

hopefullyTTC2x · 14/08/2024 16:00

I got the pregnancy pillow out and just napped for 2 hours 😱😱😱 only woke up with the alarm to pick up little one. Obviously need it as I've had such disturbed sleep lately and been so knackered. I regret nothing and missed it even when not pregnant 😂 DH also took me out for lunch as I've had a craving for Las Iguanas steak fajita stack 🤤 so finally scratched that itch. Now back to feeling sick but was nice to enjoy it for a little while.

Is it like a pulling? I get a lot of pulling feels like I've pulled a muscle in my stomach off I get up too quickly - told all this sort of stuff is normal and think I had it with my son too. I'm also getting a lot of cramping and pain on my left side but found out my ovary is stuck to the way of my uterus so worried how bad that's going to get as the pregnancy progresses

Ellsx6 · 14/08/2024 16:17

@hopefullyTTC2x yes sort of like pulling and pinching sensations. I wouldn't say it hurts but I can notice it's there! First timer here so have no idea what's 'normal' I've seen about round ligament pain which I've also had but these more noticeable pains are in uterus x

Lulub94 · 14/08/2024 16:55

Have been quiet on here recently. Was incredibly anxious to start with at first but now 9+1 and have got to the point where I am just like what will be will be and am just trying to enjoy it now.
I have been getting sharp pains when I turn over at night, and a couple of times in the day when I stand up quickly. I've come to the conclusion that they are ligament pains, as when they happen they don't last long, but seems a bit early to be having them? Although having said that I do feel massive already, which I think is mainly bloat but still, not many clothes fit me right now!
Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Ellsx6 · 14/08/2024 17:13

@Lulub94 11+3 here but clothes have been tight for a couple weeks😖 also been having ligament pain for a few weeks too and spoke to midwife she said there's no set time it starts happening and even though baby's not huge yet your body's still making adjustments for the growing baby so I don't think it's to early. I get sharp pains when coughing/sneezing which is supposedly the big tell tale that it's ligament pain..my hips are awfully uncomfy too for some reason🫠
