@HappyGoLucky31 I already have a baby name list with over 50 names on. Me and my partner cannot agree on any names I'm sick of hearing about it now🤣🥲he wants something old and traditional I want something modern and unusual so we're worlds apart in that sense😅

Lalalala77 · 07/08/2024 20:05

@Ellsx6 - I’m so intrigued about your job now 😅. I agree with @Patientlywaiting7 - your positivity and statistics have really helped me today!

I've started to feel pretty shit this evening so currently taking this as a good thing, isn’t it weird that it’s the complete opposite to how I would usually be feeling about feeling crap!
I have my booking appointment tomorrow so can hopefully speak to them about my concerns then. After that I’m determined to be positive, there’s no point in worrying until I need to and I’m usually very positive so I’m not enjoying this negativity!

I’m with everyone on the lack of motivation! Instead of doing the many household things I need to be doing when I get home from work I keep finding myself stuck to the sofa in front of the Olympics stuffing my face with anything I can find/ my partner brings me (I’m enjoying that part).

Superscientist · 07/08/2024 20:05

For my daughter we literally had 3 names we both liked! We ended up using 2 of them as first name middle name.
We searched popular names from each decade going back to the mid 1800s and in other countries.

I've just come back from a & e as the bleeding became heavy. They have run some bloods ahead of the scan in the morning. I nervy night ahead of us.

Lalalala77 · 07/08/2024 20:21

@Superscientist sorry you’ve had to go to a&e, that must have been pretty scary for you - I’ve got everything crossed for you for tomorrow!

Ellsx6 · 07/08/2024 20:22

@Superscientist wishing you luck for your scan tomorrow. You must be scared I really feel for you! X

Superscientist · 07/08/2024 20:41

Thanks. I'm just trying to stay occupied whilst my partner does bed time with my daughter so I've rewatching old sewing episodes, doing some colouring, and loitering here!

I'll be on my own tomorrow as my partner is examining an oral exam tomorrow for a student. It takes weeks/months to get the right people in a room at the same time so has an incredibly high bar for rearranging like him being seriously ill. It's literally the only thing my partner ever does that wouldn't be able to rearrange. It just feels like the world is conspiring against me this week

@ChristmasJumpers - snap! We went through 3 cycles and 5 transfers to get DD, oh and I had 2 ops! Then first time we dtd unprotected, here's number 2! The same happened to my neighbour's!

Ref private scans, have you checked if your local epu offer an out of hours private scan? Ours does and means it can be added to notes and used for clinical notes.

I've managed to only be sick twice in the last 48-hour - woohoo! Feel like a new woman with some energy - didn't even nap today!

Had my booking in appointment today, it still doesn't feel real.

I'm wishing those who are having a worrying night today, the best of luck and I hope you get positive news at your scans tomorrow.

It's crazy isn't it. I'm so lucky that our IVF cycle worked first time as it was hellish and we only got one embryo from 25 eggs collected! This cemented it in my mi d that my eggs must be awful quality and we could throw caution to the wind (we couldn't 😂)

Marking my place here

@Superscientist good luck for the scan tomorrow, I've continued to have on and off bleeding and it's very worrying and unsettling

My next scan is next Thursday when I'll be just over 8 weeks, but the nausea and tiredness are really making me struggle this pregnancy,I don't remember it being so tough when I had my daughter,I feel so gross

m00ngirl · 07/08/2024 23:10

Hello, placemarking ! According to LMP I'm 10+4 and due on 2 March, first pregnancy.

@sannax YES I've had a horrendous taste in my mouth since about week 5. The nausea is finally dipping the past couple of days (might come back?) but the bad taste in mouth staying strong. Arrgh.

@Patientlywaiting7 I share the same concern about private scans. I got my private scan at 7 weeks at St Thomas Hospital privately, it's more expensive (£200!) but you get a consultant and I think that's sort of as good as it gets. I was measuring a week behind but am sure of when I ovulated... had a healthy viable pregnancy and heartbeat though. I will have to wait to 12w scan to see what's going on and get a more solid date. Couldn't come quickly enough!

@Superscientist thinking of you and hoping you have lots of positive distractions and self care until you get a scan tomorrow ♥️

m00ngirl · 08/08/2024 00:10

"The nausea is finally dipping the past couple of days (might come back?)"

Scrap that, I just vomited in my sink. Came on v quickly. Goes to show how fast the symptoms change.. 🥴

Joleyjojo · 08/08/2024 04:59

Hi just getting a place on the thread,

good luck to everyone who has scans coming up, 🙏🏼 it’s positive news.

I have had a very turbulent week, being told by a private clinic that our baby has no heartbeat to 24 hours later at EPU saying baby is very much there with a heartbeat. Baby was measuring slightly small for my liking as I know when my LH peaked and I only had sex the day before my peak. I am hoping the sperm lived longer and the egg release was closer to the 48 hour mark. I have a scan Friday 1 week on from what happened and praying baby has grown and maybe even caught up a few days.

I am suffering terribly with nausea , fatigue. Bloating and lack of motivation. I have been off work this week and the thought of being on a 6 am train everyday next week is killing me.

I hope everyone gets some rest bite from symptoms.

x

AdventuresInMothering · 08/08/2024 08:26

@sannax I'm on prochlorperazine too, how are you finding it? I feel like it worked really well the first few days but now after 10 days it's got much less effective, maybe my nausea has just got worse so the tablets are only able to take the edge off. I've gone from minimum to max daily dosage as well!

Sending love to everyone struggling with anxiety or crappy symptoms like bleeding. I bled loads in my first pregnancy and luckily all was fine but it's so nerve wracking.

I went for a private scan yesterday at 8 weeks exactly and saw a heartbeat! It's starting to feel more real!

I’m on day 4 of taking it 3 times a day and it is helping. Initially felt very drowsy. I’m still vomiting first thing in the morning though but it does help nausea in the daytime. Not sure if the effect will wear off as hcg levels rise but my GP was very supportive and said don’t hesitate in coming back as there were other drugs to try and this was just first line.

I had cyclizine in a previous pregnancy which made me feel unable to function.

Superscientist · 08/08/2024 09:42

I'm on prochlorpreazine too. Not sure it's made much difference either. I was on cyclizine until last week. I do get good days and bad days which is some relief.

Patientlywaiting7 · 08/08/2024 09:50

@m00ngirl omg! I saw the price list as they came up first on google at st Thomas’ and thought wow that’s priceyyyy!! Told hubby and he has said we should go for it. I’m thinking that I do it after the 12 weeks as the epu is already monitoring me fortnightly - my next scan is next Thursday and even though it’s causing anxiety it’s actually not too bad.

im planning on giving birth at QCCH. I had my midwife booking appt on Tuesday and the midwive said they have private scans available - haven’t checked the prices yet.

how many weeks are you? Last week I was about 8. So should be 9 now. We’ll see!

Ellsx6 · 08/08/2024 09:54

@AdventuresInMothering congratulations on your beans heartbeat💐

Downtherabbithole83 · 08/08/2024 09:58

Morning all, just marking my place on the new thread. Currently 7w+2 and feeling pretty awful - either vomiting or feeling nauseous at every point of the day! GP wouldn’t give me anything for it yet though but am wondering whether to push for something before we go on holiday as I’ll be 9 weeks then and I’m very aware I could be worse by this point and the thought of vomiting on the plane while trying to look after my children is hideous!

Ellsx6 · 08/08/2024 09:59

Anyone else here really struggling with sleeping? It's starting to get on my nerves. I found out super early and from about 4w to the 10w3 I am now I wake up without a doubt minimum 4 times in the night. Sometimes for the toilet and sometimes for absolutely no reason and can't fall asleep again for hours. I'm having to take days of work dedicated to resting. Some nights only getting 3hrs in and the dreams I'm having are wild which also contribute to the waking up. Tried exercising no liquid few hours before bed, no screen time before bed all of that. Hasn't helped 😩I'm normally such a good sleeper!! Used to hit the pillow fall straight asleep and slept for a whole continuous 9 hours most the time!

Patientlywaiting7 · 08/08/2024 10:03

@Ellsx6 this is me!!!!!! I’ve just woke up about 30 mins ago. Had been up between 4-7am after needing a wee! Eventually fell back asleep! It’s so annoying!

apparently insomnia is a sign - esp if you’re a normal sleeping usually!

Ellsx6 · 08/08/2024 10:16

@Patientlywaiting7 and the bloating😫the morning not so bad but night time hits and I feel so uncomfortably large might be to do with the on and off constipation I've had..taken fybogel it didn't work for me. Only thing thats seemed to help is a dodgy takeaway🤣

IMBCRound2 · 08/08/2024 10:45

Placeholding!

8 week scan booked for Monday which is causing me way too much anxiety - just hoping this little one is going strong.

So very exhausted … and the blump is ridiculous- people have been congratulating me on my pregnancy since 5 weeks. And so emotional. With my first, I was almost unreasonably calm and placid- this one, I sobbed my way to work because the US VP nominee had IVF too and I was just so happy it had worked for his family, then because I couldn’t go to the counter protests pregnant with a toddler , and then because I forgot my packet of crisps at home. 😂

Superscientist · 08/08/2024 11:29

Unfortunately I will be stepping away from here.
The scan showed no signs of pregnancy so it looks like I miscarried yesterday.
