Sorry I've just re-read and realised it's your 12 week bloods. Mine have come back for that but still not my original booking screening bloods

hoping someone will get back to me and I can pop over to the hospital tomorrow - or at least I can get a straight answer so I can find an NIPt place asap .

horchatatresleches · 12/09/2024 22:12

I have my 12 week scan scan next week and have the option to do the NIPT for £300 there. I’m 32 and not sure what to do. I have the standard testing (triple test?), and trying to weigh up how much more worth it the NIPT is.

Ellsx6 · 12/09/2024 23:23

@horchatatresleches id ask your midwife for advice and see what she thinks. I asked mine and she said given my age, family history and nt measurement i should just wait for the triple screening results and get nipt through nhs if it's abnormal as she highly doubted it would be. Luckily all came back as very low chance so glad I didn't spend £500 on nipt :)

I'm sure my nausea is worse now that I'm 14 weeks, GP calling today so hopefully can prescribe something 🥲
Has anyone had anti sickness meds and do they help?

veggiebuns · 13/09/2024 10:24

@thatbutterfly congratulations! We're due date twins! This is my first pregnancy too🥰

Got my screening results through this morning and everything came back as the lowest chance. Feeling super positive and excited now.

I'm also feeling super grateful for the processing time in my area, since joining this thread and seeing how long people have to wait for results I've been so shocked! My screening was on Tuesday this week, so that's 3 days and that's for good results! I really hope the process is improved across the country because it's awful some of you to be waiting for so long for a little reassurance!

I’m 14+2 and like you it’s ramped up! In a similar situation to you have been prescribed anti sickness which I’m due to pick up later today. A family member told me that they do help but she tried three different types before they were the right fit. I hope you find some relief soon.

Ellsx6 · 13/09/2024 12:14

Last private scan was at 14+6 we're 15+5 now and don't have another one booked until 16+4. We've been having them weekly so really trying to test myself and control my anxiety. This feels like a huge step!! I'm going to try and stay super busy🙃

I've just got the following text, is this legit?? Has anyone heard of it?

Hi I'm NAME, public health nurse for maternity. Are you free for a call to discuss the way to wellness pathway? It's a pathway to support you to have a healthy pregnancy 😀

I've never heard of it, but I had a google! Seems like it's a maternal mental health service? I would say it's unlikely that it's a scam, I'd maybe call them and get some extra info☺️

I have had a few notifications on badger app about teams meetings for wellbeing in pregnancy etc..I haven't joined any yet though!

Pretty certain I am feeling baby boy now! For the past week I've felt things and there getting stronger. It's like flutters and bubbles sort of. Ice cold water sets him crazy too🤣

GlitteringCat · 13/09/2024 19:20

I’m 16 weeks now and have been feeling mostly quite relaxed since my 12 week scan was good. Was quite anxious before it. For some reason today I’ve started feeling quite anxious again that somethings wrong. Last 3 days I’m pretty sure I’ve been feeling baby every day but nothing today, although I’m not 100% sure I had and know it’s so early that it doesn’t really mean anything. Got a gender scan in a week but that feels so far just now! I also have my 16 week midwife appointment on Tuesday and hoping she’ll check for the heartbeat as a sonographer said they usually do.

Ellsx6 · 13/09/2024 21:22

@GlitteringCat also have my 16w appt Tuesday but it's in a school? So no hope that they'll be checking heartbeat. I'm with you on the anxiety thing. I've got my 20week scan this time next month and really just started panicking that what if somethings wrong and he won't make it or something😖

Ellsx6 · 13/09/2024 21:27

@GlitteringCat oh and also feeling movement so trying to just assume baby's fine if I can feel them moving..

That’s odd! Dopplers are portable so they still might! I gather whether they do or not at 16 weeks depends on area. I think I feel a bit better than earlier anxiety wise but still stressed that somethings wrong. Not long after I did the post I thought I could feel them moving and drunk some really cold water and seemed to that the strange swooshing feeling was a bit stronger then. I think because I don’t know for sure if it’s movement or not I’m not completely reassured.

Ellsx6 · 14/09/2024 00:15

@GlitteringCat I wasn't sure either but I've never felt this feeling before (this is my first) so it must be. They also say cold water/fizzy drinks get them on the move and that when I feel things most so I think it defo is. Well I'm telling myself that for some reassurance anyway🤣

IMBCRound2 · 14/09/2024 07:35

My midwife for my last pregnancy said it depends on mum’s weight if they check for heartbeat at 16 weeks - apparently it’s so small at that stage it’ll only pick up if there isn’t much tummy in the way.

with my little one I didn’t get flutters it was more ‘flump’ like she was throwing her whole body about in there doing flips- so I didn’t realise for ages because l was waiting for gentle bubbles not my uterus being used as a trampoline. 😂

I've just had mine in a little community centre attached to a school and they checked for heartbeat with a doppler 🥰 hopefully they will for you too

LV1987 · 14/09/2024 18:37

Successful 12 week scan yesterday 😍

Was expecting to be 12 weeks 5 days based on IVF dates, but baby was measuring at 13 weeks 2 days, so our EDD has been changed... I still find it crazy that baby's measurements trump an exact conception date despite the discrepancies in measurements!

Obviously we're not too fussed, just happy after everything to have seen a healthy, wriggly baby on screen!

lemonyfox · 14/09/2024 18:40

@LV1987 same with us, we got moved forwards two days for ours despite knowing the exact transfer date for a 5dt! I believe some trusts in the country don't change IVF dates whereas others do, it's odd

Greymalkin12 · 14/09/2024 18:53

At what stage are people starting to wear maternity clothes? I'm 16 weeks and not quite there yet but presumably in the next few weeks will need to find something smartish maternity clothes to wear for work.

I’ve been wearing them since 9 weeks 😅 16 weeks now and honestly the best thing I did was move to maternity clothes! Dresses I’ve just sized up a size but trousers and leggings are so much better now! I have had a full on bump since about 13 weeks tho so think I’m on the bigger size.

I’m telling myself for reassure too that it’s them! But also pretty sure it is. Todays been quite a wriggly day if it is them and for the first time last night I felt it when in bed. Yesterday and today I’ve also felt it when stood up when normally it’s only been when sat down. There’s definitely something in the cold water thing as I got home and downed some straight out the fridge water and then got fairly strong wriggles but hadn’t really registered til 5 minutes after the wriggles that I’d drunk a load of cold water and that might be why I felt them so wasn’t just mentally waiting for it.

Ellsx6 · 14/09/2024 19:56

@GlitteringCat update is I went for a private scan earlier last min as partners going away for work for a few days and wanted to see baby was okay so he could 'relax'🤣 I was watching baby kick while I could feel it at the same time so defo him she said what I am describing is correct for how big he is. Also got a sneak peak of 4d. I said he looks scary haha. I'm feeling a lot quite constantly yesterday and today!

Does anyone feel like they have a real bump yet? I feel like I’m finally starting to round out a little bit!
