@mowli That's a lovely and definite bump! Mine is huge by the end of the day but I think is still a large proportion of bloat as it's nowhere near as big on a morning! Xx

hopefullyTTC2x · 15/09/2024 15:32

My gosh, I finally had my 12 week scan and am so bruised. I did not expect it to take as long as it did and she was really pressing and pushing in all the areas trying to get the right measurements, which I'm grateful for but even 2 days later it's so sore and red. Did anyone else have this and if so for how long?

hopefullyTTC2x · 15/09/2024 15:34

Sorry meant to also ask, has anyone had a call back or appointment following the 12 week scan and bloods? Mine were taken on Friday with the scan and I've had a letter appear on the NHS app today for an appointment on 1st October. I'm trying to think it's too far away and possibly too soon for it to be related to the blood test but there's no info on what it's actually for. I have emailed asking and hoping it's just the consultant or something, just seems such bad timing to get the appointment right after bloods sent off for testing

I had an appt come through for my 20 week scan and my 16 week midwife appointment that was it

@MOLWI my current night time belly. Probably just bloat and the extra pounds I've gained as it's pretty flat in the morning🤣

Mine is definitely much bigger in the evening!! Yours is looking cute and round too 🥹 yeah this is my second!! I just compared with a pic from 16 weeks last time around and I’m quite similar but definitely ever so slightly rounder this time. I still haven’t told my family so it’s getting hard to hide haha! Were telling them this weekend at my sons 2nd birthday so don’t have to hide it for much longer!

Muffin101 · 15/09/2024 17:50

Mines pretty similar to yours @MOLWI maybe slightly bigger. Noticeable enough that several people (once in their cups somewhat admittedly!!) said things along the lines of ‘oh I didn’t know you were expecting again!’ at a wedding I was at yesterday, so definitely outwardly noticeable to even some of the more unobservant of my husbands friends! 14 weeks now.

Ellsx6 · 15/09/2024 17:52

@MOLWI exciting!! I'm so glad we'll be heavily pregnant in winter. Can hide in cosy leggings and jumpers!🤣 I've never had the flattest tummy ever anyway but my loose skin from losing weight has firmed out and it feels very weird to look at a non saggy stomach! I'm going to Spain in a few days and don't have a clue how to dress this pop belly🙃🤣. I think everyone will assume I've ate too many pies at this stage rather than being pregnant..😅

Does anyone feel like they have a real bump yet? I feel like I’m finally starting to round out a little bit!

I got really annoyed someone had moved the kitchen table this morning and I couldn’t fit in the chair anymore . Dear readers, they had not. I had just ballooned 😂

IMBCRound2 · 15/09/2024 18:17

Told my little girl today - literally the best feeling in the world ! She is just so excited about her baby - keeps coming up to give her baby cuddles and kisses. I’m basically useless pile of happy hormones.

I’m going on holiday in 2 weeks and going for cycling shorts and dresses 😅 I lost 12 stone so have quite a bit of extra skin and boohoo do these shapeware shorts that make the bump look a bit rounder and are actually quite comfy and helpful with the weight of it. Pic is how my bump looks with them 😃

@GlitteringCat ooo might have to try those. I lost 9 stone and the loose skin at the bottom of my belly is awful😅. I have shape wear but it is really tight tbh and was thinking it's a little too tight and might squash baby🤣

The shorts I have aren’t tight on the belly as they’re maternity ones. There’s just this bit at the bottom which holds the bottom of stomach up, don’t really know how to explain it 😂 but with excess skin it’s been good!

Yes I had this, was so much pushing and prodding and was definitely bruised the day after. Lasted a few days before it all felt better so hopefully you'll feel better soon.

ChristmasJumpers · 16/09/2024 12:45

I don't have excess skin but have a really flabby bit at the bottom of my stomach and a c section "shelf" which is making me very self conscious. The bump is really bumping but the bottom is ruining the round shape if that makes sense. Maybe I need some of the shapewear shorts!

How lovely!! How old is she? My 18 month old an now say "sister" but obviously clueless as to what's going on for now haha

She’s three! Absolutely adorable until we get walked into her dance class today and with no warning at all- whipped my dress up to my middle to show everyone ‘her Baby’ (and my knickers in the process )

Onthedouble123 · 16/09/2024 13:37

@IMBCRound2 this is hilarious!
We've not told our little girl yet. She'll be 3 in December. I'm not sure what she'll make of it to be honest! Xx

Is anyone struggling with bloat and indigestion? I seem prone to it at the best of times but woke up in the night to waves of indigestion, allowing wind to escape shall we say, helped relieve the worst of it, but it's been niggling all day today, not sure if it's stuff stretching out, I'm 14 weeks

Was in a meeting all morning and it was uncomfortable!

I’ve been getting trapped wind quite badly. It can be really sore. When I had it bad from a surgery was told green tea and gripe water are good but don’t know if you can have them when pregnant or not.

We're just back from visiting a nursery - feels absolutely mad early, but at least where we are waiting lists are already up to November 2025, so trying to get ahead of it before it's incredibly stressful!
So hard to envision sending a baby that's currently just the size of an apple to nursery 😂

Ellsx6 · 16/09/2024 15:45

Was in a&e until 4am last night. Dropping blood clots from my bum when going for a number 2. Was really worried and didn't want to wait to speak to midwife. Just got turned away with 'take a laxative every day' after having her fingers helicoptered inside me. My dignity is officially gone🤣🤣

It’s wild how early you need to go to nursery's! In my local area they’re apparently booked up till Feb 2026. I’ll be due to go back to work in Feb 26 so a bit worried I won’t get a place at a nursery where I want.
