Is there a different group to the Facebook one set up? My group with my first baby was super busy from the get go and still is, I'm not sure if I've joined the wrong one as seems pretty dead? It's impossible to keep up with these threads and remember who people are so I've just been patiently waiting 😅

I thought the same!! The one I joined was called something daffodils or something like that, is that same one as you?

holymaloney7 · 05/09/2024 10:39

@MOLWI yeah that's the one! I always found my first group so helpful for advice and tips and still is so was hoping there would be something similar this time round.

hopefullyTTC2x · 05/09/2024 11:03

Thanks for all your ideas on coping with the anxiety. I had a call this morning from hospital and they had a cancellation so will see me today for my NHS 12 week scan (11+6). I'm in absolute bits at the worry of being told baby has passed. My tummy has gone down, my boobs have evened out and shrunk a bit and I'm writing my anxiety is ' mothers intuition' that something is wrong. Hopefully this afternoon I can post a delightful message that everything is fine. As a side note, I have an appointment with perinatal mental health team next week so will discuss it all with them.

After my DS was born I did have really bad anxiety that he would die at any point but didn't expect it to happen this early in pregnancy. I really hope this is just my brain being ridiculous but after other losses and struggling to get here it's a real fear. I've been so sick this morning and it's the worry and anxiety - I've not really had much morning sickness just nausea which I know is lucky but again worrying it means something isn't right. Also my exhaustion is lifting and getting better. Hoping it's just a time thing as I'm nearly 12 weeks. Sorry for the rant, just need to vent and get it out

Me too! Maybe it’ll liven up as time goes on a bit more. I was in a WhatsApp group last time too which was nice! So could always do something like that too

horchatatresleches · 05/09/2024 11:54

Does anyone have any advice for heavy colds in pregnancy? I have a stinker at the moment, and normally I’d be cycling lemsip with ibuprofen, and Sinex to clear my nose, but I think the only thing I can take is paracetamol and a warm bath/heated blanket. Is there anything I’m missing just to feel a bit more comfortable?

IMBCRound2 · 05/09/2024 13:11

@hopefullyTTC2x - got my scan today too! Sitting in a useless bubble of wobbles !

Ellsx6 · 05/09/2024 13:51

@hopefullyTTC2x I was really bloated weeks 4-10 and then it went down. Now I'm nearly 15w I've got a little pouch at the bottom of my belly which I think is the start of bump. I've not been sick at all either the whole time and limited symptoms so try not to worry about that, I hope your scan goes well💫

Not the sexiest of things but you can get nasal dilators which hold your nose open so it drains 🤢

absolutely vile but did help me breath a bit better

IMBCRound2 · 05/09/2024 14:58

Twelve scan went well! Measuring ahead at 12w3d ♥️♥️ feel like I can breath a bit . Always so funny to think of them wiggling away before you can feel them ?

not finding out the gender but at least time round I’m not mistaking the umbilical cord for an exceptionally long penis!

I'm in it too and it's been quiet, I've put a few posts on there to try and initiate some chats! I was in a similar group in 2020 and that was a lot busier - but it might need some time and for people to get past their 12 week scans maybe.

But please post in there anyway and I'll always respond 😂

I don’t use Facebook but would welcome a WhatsApp group for sure

sannax · 05/09/2024 15:31

@hopefullyTTC2x hope all goes well the scan. As soon as I hit 11 weeks, almost overnight all my symptoms disappeared, including severe nausea. I was vomiting 3-4 x a day and have been vomit free for 2 days so I’m also worried. Hoping it’s just the placenta taking over

hopefullyTTC2x · 05/09/2024 22:38

Thanks all. Baby was measuring about 11+5 so they couldn't get what they needed. Was wriggling around like anything though and could still see heartbeat. Sonographer was lovely and reassuring but I'm definitely having some problems with anxiety and my brain. Have to wait and see when there is a cancellation appointment next week so if we don't have childcare I'll have to go on my own without husband which is sad but need to get the testing done at the right time so will be necessary. Hopefully it works out time wise

Sorry should say 11+1 so about 5 days behind my LMP and last scan date. Trying not to Think about that at all as everything looked good, lots of movement, heart beating etc

Ellsx6 · 05/09/2024 23:16

@hopefullyTTC2x if the sonographer wasn't worried try not to be..I know easier said than done. Baby had a heartbeat so there probably fine. It's common for baby's to measure 'small' or 'big' even at this stage. We're always jumping back and forward with dates at scans supposedly to do with positioning ect. We've always been a whole 2 weeks late on all dates compared to LMP. Don't know how it works but the baby's growing and hearts still beating so I'm not worried about that..

ChristmasJumpers · 06/09/2024 08:45

I have had a few scans now (5 I think) and every single time the measurement has been different but within a week ahead or a week behind. I would definitely trust the sonographers reaction as they would tell you if they had any concerns (easier said than done I know)

I’ve mentioned this previously but both of my pregnancies are IVF and so I know the exact date and time . Both of their screening dates were far enough ahead that it would have meant the embryo was still in the lab and there was no physical way they could have implanted by that point. When I had my scan yesterday the midwife even said it was totally illogical but that’s what they have to go from!

I don’t think I’d give that too much thought lovely, it’s a fairly inaccurate measurement really, which makes sense given baby is wriggling and it’s only an ultrasound so not exactly the most precise art! As above, as long as it’s within a week or so, I don’t think there’s much to stress about.. although that’s easier said than done I know!

Got my 1st NHS scan this afternoon and trying not to worry

Just had email come through asking me to do yet another thing for someone I'm covering and it's nearly made me cry!!

LV1987 · 06/09/2024 14:49

Hi, how is everyone doing?

I'm now a week away from my 12 week scan, and like a lot of others, am starting to feel a little anxious about it. After everything we've been through to get here, it feels like the last 11 weeks have gone to smoothly and now the dread is starting to set in. Some days I'm fine, and can really enjoy rubbing my growing tummy and looking forward to the future, other days I feel like I'm just hanging in there until someone rips the rug out from under my feet and tells us it's all a big joke and I still can't have kids. Infertility trauma is tough!

Anyhoo, we have a few days away booked in the lead up to the scan so I'm hoping they will be days spent in our happy little "We're Pregnant!" bubble 🤞🤞

PeachMartin · 06/09/2024 15:10

How is everyone feeling symptoms wise? Has anyone’s morning sickness and nausea started to ease? I’m 13+2 and no let up yet.

Ellsx6 · 06/09/2024 15:13

@LV1987 we've also battled infertility for 4 years and still do not believe I'm pregnant and keep wondering why everything's going so smooth..😖it's like I'm waiting for something to go wrong and it's very scary. This is the first time I've actually fell pregnant so it's bizzare that after these 4 years the first time I fell pregnant it would all go well and result in a healthy baby. Another private scan tomorrow. Oh the anxiety's!! We're away for 10 days at end of the month so hoping a holiday will bring some joy and pass time!

Ellsx6 · 06/09/2024 15:14

@PeachMartin I'm feeling good really at 14+5 I wasn't sick at all in first trimester so I've been really lucky. Had some nausea weeks 6,7,8 and that was it! Hope it eases for you soon x

horchatatresleches · 06/09/2024 15:36

@PeachMartin hope you start to feel better soon 🫶🏻 My symptoms started to ease at 10 weeks (11 weeks now and still some underlying nausea, but nowhere near as bad, and no vomiting). Though I’ve started with some lower back pain now!
