@NoisyBee I’m very sorry for your loss. Look after yourself xxx

LilacSnail · 09/08/2024 18:35

@KittyFantastica great news on the NIPT test.

Those that have had the NIPT, what was your fetal fraction %? X

QuantumPanic · 09/08/2024 18:42

@NoisyBee I am so sorry for your loss.

retrievermum · 09/08/2024 19:08

Hope everyone is doing okay! I haven’t been reading for a while as I’ve been on holiday, so hope everyone’s sickness is wearing off!

Has anyone else had any movement yet? I’m 15 weeks tomorrow and I’m FAIRLY confident I’ve felt the odd wriggle here and there, which is exciting! It’s my second so I know what I’m looking for, if that makes sense, but feels very early considering there was nothing definitive first time until closer to 23 weeks!

Mine was 4%. Lower than I'd like, but the results were discernible, so it could have been worse. I was terrified of an inconclusive draw.

Kicking off with a reply to @apple67cherry who posted at the end of the last thread. I can't actually see a nub on your scans at all, so could the angle just be hiding it? On the other hand, we've already established that I have no idea about any of this 😂

So glad to hear that the scan went well. Your pictures are great! It's amazing how they're gradually developing into proper little people, isn't it? x

I went to go get blood test done and the scan assistant asked if I had more pics to guess on nub theory and what do u know...it's so obvious ..can't believe I didn't look properly 😂😂😂

Yes, I did post about this the other day, I'm sure I can feel the odd thing but wasn't sure if I was imagining it! I had an anterior placenta last time so didn't feel anything for ages but sure there's something this time!

Has anyone seen any nice neutral clothes about?
We're not finding out what we're having, and when I click unisex on lots of clothing sites, it still comes up with blues, pinks or things I would definitely count as one or the other.

There's quite a lot of nice neutral stuff in Next, although a bit more expensive.

Just wanted to update you all. Been for my scan and as expected it wasn't good news. The baby was still there but had no heartbeat and they think it stopped growing around 8 weeks.
Wishing you all best wishes for your pregnancy journeys and hoping to be back on a similar group in the near future x

I’m so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you and please look after yourself xx

MaggieS21 · 10/08/2024 08:30

Hi ladies, congratulations to you all. You all seem so lovely and supportive of each other and guess I'm looking for a hand hold

I've been lurking and following you all for a little while, I was too worried to join until I saw baby at our scan on Monday. I was given due date of 8th Feb, everything looked perfect and NT measured 2.5. I was so relieved and excited. We showed our 3 year old son the scan pic and he asked if it was his brother or sister 🥹

On Thursday I received the dreaded phonecall from blood screening who told me there is an increased chance baby has DS. I'm 41 so was expecting it might be high. It's based on my age and my hormone level being 5 and not 1, the midwife also said the NT was a little high as was 1.39 on the mass of medium. I know it's algorithm but it's so worrying. I've chosen to have NIPT so waiting on the results. I was asked if I'd had severe morning sickness due to the hormone (normally indicates multiples or DS) being high but have had absolutely nothing this pregnancy just felt a little off compared to the nausea I had with my son.

Sorry for such a long post, I'm trying to be positive but it's hard

Hopefully2ndtimemummy · 10/08/2024 08:31

Morning all, hope everyone is doing
ok? Have my scan on Mon afternoon- pretty nervous! Should be 13+3 I think. If all is ok, planning to go for nipt. Has anyone ever had amniocentesis? I’ve read a little bit about it and understand bigger risk because of actual procedure but am curious because of the additional testing it covers. For context I’m 35 with a 4yr old.

re clothes etc, haven’t looked at anything yet as haven’t had a scan since 6wks. We kept most of our baby paraphernalia- Co sleeper, bouncer, highchair, jumperoo, bugaboo so hopefully they are all needed in a few months. Fingers crossed.

hope you all have lovely weekends!

Sorry to hear you’re having a tough time- pregnancy in general is such a worry isn’t it. Hopefully you won’t be waiting too long for nipt results and that it will be the result you are hoping for. Take care of yourself x

UrbanSquirrel · 10/08/2024 09:31

@MaggieS21 Welcome Maggie and I'm sorry to hear you're in limbo at the moment - but at least NIPT results should be back pretty quickly, so you will have more news soon. Hopefully it will be low risk. In the meantime, sending lots of hugs.

Your little one's reaction to the scan is so sweet!!! x

Welcome @MaggieS21 - really hope NIPT results come back with good news for you 🤞 It does seem like age plays a big part in the NHS algorithm.

We’ve decided not to find out the gender, so I’m also on the hunt for cute unisex items (although I’m holding myself back from buying until 20 weeks!)- I’m now just searching specifically for the colour I’m looking for, it seems easier!

EastLondonCoffeeFiend · 10/08/2024 12:50

Have people booked onto an NCT or other antenatal course yet (Happy Baby, Happy Bump; Bump & Baby Club)? The ones near us are getting very booked up, so think we’ll need to book soon but the dates are falling so badly due to Christmas & New Year. We can either do one in November/ early December (which seems a bit early?) or mid-late Jan (which seems too late for our due date of 5th Feb). Anyone else in the same boat?

QuantumPanic · 10/08/2024 15:28

@Hopefully2ndtimemummy I believe it is possible to have a private amnio/CVS, but it's hugely expensive (1k +) and it's not obvious that a private practice would perform the procedure if you had a low risk result from the combined test or NIPT - which is probably a good thing. Apologies if this not what you were asking!

We haven't had our letter about the combined test back yet (it's been over a week, so I'm taking that to mean the results aren't troubling) but decided to get a private NIPT anyway for extra reassurance and to find out the sex, although I'm wobbling a bit on that now. I guess I have to find out at some point!

Twinmummaa · 10/08/2024 15:35

Thanks for this - loads of absolutely adorable neutral stuff from Next! There must be some very stylish babies out there. I'm planning holding off buying anything for as long as possible, but I know I'll crack at some point.

@EastLondonCoffeeFiend Your message panicked me into finally booking ours! NCT, and dates are 25 Nov to 18 Dec, with a due date of 3 Feb, in a local church hall. I guess it feels a little early, but on the other hand I suppose babies might well rock up a little early! 😂
