So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

Some advice needed.. we're due to go to a theme park tomorrow.. I know the advice of pregnant women not going on rides but does that include really early on in pregnancy ie 4/5 weeks?

I'm not sure how early on this recommendation starts but I'm sorting of in the same boat - we are due to go to Alton Towers with friends mid-August. We won't be at the point of telling people by then but I personally wouldn't be comfortable with going on the rides.

Mine is so different to my first pregnancy so far.. I have energy too but last time I slept constantly in early pregnancy!

Pleased I'm not the only one!!

Hi all, tentatively joining the group, had a positive last Thursday. Think due 3rd April. Anyone else been tracking progression with test strips?? I know I shouldn't but now I'm worrying as no progression and I have had pinky spotting the last couple of days. Period would have been due on Saturday. Any advice welcome 😢

I drove myself mad yesterday worrying that the progression on my lines wasn't enough. We have clinic official test day on Sun and I am so anxious will be negative. I became so anxious that the progression between my top lines from 5dp5dt (5 days past a five day embro transfer) and the bottom tests on 7dp5dt weren't enough. But many people have now pointed out to me all the variables about how much have drunk how did tests etc.

So try not to worry. We still so early the fact we are having lines is good. Lots of people don't even know they are preg yet!

@Hopefulmummie I agree with above I don't think I would be happy with rides either. In all likelihood it would be completely fine but I think I would worry. But I'm very risk averse when it comes to this. Hope you have a great day whatever you decide to do.

Hey, I’m cautiously joining too. Found out today (well technically yesterday now) and it’s been a bit of a shock. Currently have an 11mo and our plan was to start ttc from sept. This month we thought we were over ovulation and in the safe zone but I think I ovulated later than normal. A huge shock as I’m normally like clockwork. VVVVVFP this morning on 3 tests. Looked like an evap / shadow and wasn’t convinced until boots early test showed a much bolder line (but still faint) this eve. AF due tomorrow so cautious because it’s still so faint but would make sense if ovulation was late. Feeling super anxious as this was earlier than planned and just a big shock to me and OH. Due date 10th April I think.

We have a 10mo too, just think that they will be great friends growing up together ❤

CharlotteRae · 30/07/2024 08:54

@IVFlife ahh thanks for words of support! It's the waiting game isn't it, so painful! Just want to know either way, one minute I'm positive the next I feel like I'm trying to accept that it's likely not worked out. Have actually just called the drs as thought it wouldn't do any harm to log that I'm pregnant and get their input, although our drs surgery are pretty crappy these days so I can't imagine they'll be very encouraging. Fingers crossed for your checks at the weekend!

Bubblesandballoons · 30/07/2024 09:06

@CharlotteRae I’ve been tracking too. I was sure yesterday it was all over, but today is stronger, so I’m putting the tests down and going to try and enjoy it as best I can.
It makes it more real ringing the dr doesn’t it, hopefully they are helpful for you. Mine aren’t great, but the rainbow clinic were so lovely and supportive on the phone which was good.

@Bubblesandballoons I would be thrilled with those lines! They are lovely and dark! I'm going to get one of those clear blues that says the weeks later and a different brand and see if the lines look any more promising in the morning. May just make me feel worse though, then that's it I'm going to just wait and ride it out (she says!) 😂

I honestly think (with my logical head on) that these tests were never intended to be used the way we now use them. They are just designed to show blank or detect hcg. And for us it is detecting hcg.

Part of my mind is blowing that we are having a positive test. And me a year about would think it's mad I'm not jumping from the ceiling on that alone!

StampOnTheGround · 30/07/2024 10:11

I haven't had a dye stealer or anything, but I did get my 3+ this morning on a digital!

Bubblesandballoons · 30/07/2024 10:21

@CharlotteRae these are boots early tests and are similar to frer so show better lines earlier on. I used those cheapies in my previous pregnancy and they are good lines as they take a long time to get dark. Haha it’s so hard to not cave and test isn’t it 😂.
@IVFlife I never knew about progression on tests till I started using mumsnet. Now it’s a slippery slope 😂. Hope Sunday goes well for you. Hopefully that will give you the confidence to feel more excited

gg9320 · 30/07/2024 10:24

@CharlotteRae i have seen others on here using the cheapie strips and not getting any progression but getting progression on other tests like FRER so please don’t be disheartened. As another poster pointed out, it’s also still very early days. Wishing you all the best x

This line progression looks great! My boots early tests are still showing more faint than your top test but waiting for FRER & CB to arrive today. Not sure it’s worth doing a digital yet.

Hi all, I got a positive result this morning after waking up with morning sickness. I really hoped I'd get further through without the sickness starting as I'm only 4+4. Does anyone else have really aching limbs? My arms, legs, everywhere really are so sore, feel like I have flu. Everything just seems to have hit overnight as I was fine yesterday, was in the pool swimming at 6.45am with no sickness or aches. Right now just wondering how I'm going to get through the next 8 months whilst looking after my 18month old 😩

Yes I feel really run down, so tired and my body feels heavy and achey. Feeling quite queasy too which didn't happen so early on my last pregnancy 🙃I have a 10mo so it's hard trying to run around after him with it all. I'm currently lying in bed withering away while he naps, hoping it'll be a long nap 😂

Plumbibii · 30/07/2024 15:22

I have just referred myself to midwives. Anyone else done the referral yet?

I have been having achy lower right abdomen but this is a common symptom with all of my pregnancies, so not thinking much about it.

Spoke to Gp today and she advised me to 'lay low' after my last MC. Has anyone been advised the same before?

Yes I've referred, only 4w5d tho but figured it'd take a couple weeks for an appt, thinking about an early reassurance scan but I'd have no one to have my 14 mo

Bubblesandballoons · 30/07/2024 16:12

@Giraffeee did your tests turn up? I got a 1-2 weeks on a clear blue with the top test.
@Plumbibii I rang yesterday and referred myself, got my 6 week scan booked (due to recurrent miscarriage) and 8 week midwife appt. What does she mean by lay low?

CharlotteRae · 30/07/2024 16:42

@Plumbibii I just did my self referral for midwife app, figured may as well get ball rolling as my drs is so slow to see anyone. I rang them earlier and to be fair they were nice and she said for me to call the Early Preg dpt for advice regarding the spotting... annoyingly I missed their call! So awaiting another one. Even if they say they'll scan me at 7 weeks I'd be happy. I don't think I'd go in now even if they offered a scan as with a previous miscarriage a few years ago it stressed me out even more by going at this time and they couldn't see anything at all as too early so rebooked me for the following week. I think I'd rather wait and see what happens and then hopefully see more a little further along if sticks x

IVFlife · 30/07/2024 17:17

@Plumbibii I referred myself last night. We will get an early scan from ivf clinic but wanted to just get myself on the list now. Plus it made it feel more real for me!

I booked mine in for early Sept, did it directly through the women's centre so I was able to bypass the GP - phew!

Plumbibii · 30/07/2024 17:57

@Badassbreastfeeder85 At how many weeks are you looking to have the reassurance scan? Hopefully you can find someone to babysit.

@Bubblesandballoons she meant in terms of being active. GP said because I've had a Mc before i should rest and take it easy and lay low. Hope your scan goes well at 6 weeks.

@CharlotteRae I want an early scan too but GP said they only offer it if there's a problem. With my last MC i had healthy heartbeat at 6 weeks and then miscarried at 10 weeks. So i feel in first 12 weeks you can never really relax until you have hit the 13th week. Hope your spotting is nothing, and all goes well.

I haven't let myself get fully excited yet but hoping the little bean sticks for all of us.

Giraffeee · 30/07/2024 18:44

@Bubblesandballoons yes tests arrived today and got a strong line on FR and 1-2 weeks on the digital, slowly starting to sink in!

@Plumbibii how strange, never heard of that unless there’s bleeding and cause for concern.
