So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

I think I did it at 8 weeks last time so similar time this time round, my eldest is fine to be left but then only person who can watch the baby is about to have a baby herself!

I have just referred myself to midwives. Anyone else done the referral yet?

I have been having achy lower right abdomen but this is a common symptom with all of my pregnancies, so not thinking much about it.

Spoke to Gp today and she advised me to 'lay low' after my last MC. Has anyone been advised the same before?

We have a different system in ireland so no self referral but I have an appointment with my consultant here Thursday week. She didn't tell me to do anything different after my MC though, just advised to try not to stress etc.

CharlotteRae · 31/07/2024 07:36

How's everyone feeling? How have I not even known for a full week, time is going so slowly 😂

Bcec · 31/07/2024 08:00

Hi everyone,
Had my first very very faint positive test on Saturday (9dpo) and have been getting positives every day since which I think are getting a little darker. This is my second pregnancy, after losing my first at 10 weeks in November so I am feeling pretty anxious and just hoping that everything turns out okay. Last time, I didn’t find out until my period was 2 days late so this time I am anxiously awaiting tomorrow, which is when my period would have been due, anyone else?! Symptoms so far as slightly sore boobs, feeling hot and back pain. Should be due around 10th April.

Figuringitout9 · 31/07/2024 08:08

Joining this thread ☺️ took a normal early response test which had a faint line then rushed out to get a digital test and it says ‘pregnant’! Happy but anxious! 😬 I’m 12 DPO, period not due for 3 days!

CharlotteRae · 31/07/2024 08:09

@Bcec sorry to hear about your last pregnancy, hopefully this is a very different experience for you! My last pregnancy 5 years ago ended in a missed miscarriage, and we have been trying for 18 months and this is our first positive so understand how nervous you are! All we can do it try and stay positive and busy, it's hard feeling so out of control though. Your symptoms sound very promising though!

CharlotteRae · 31/07/2024 08:09

@Figuringitout9 congratulations! Best feeling seeing those words!

Thanks! 😁 It really is, I don’t think I really believed it until I took the digital one!

Bcec · 31/07/2024 08:47

@CharlotteRae I definitely feel different this time around, so I’m taking that as a positive and keeping my fingers firmly crossed. It’s been two years for us since we started trying so it’s been a long and rough road but this time around we were only trying again for 2 months, so that is much quicker than last time! I’m trying to just enjoy it and take it all in. It was my birthday yesterday so I’m off to the spa today (minus the sauna, hot tub etc obviously) but hoping the relaxation will help 😅 hopefully we’ll all be welcoming our little bundles in April 🤞🏻

fortheloveofcollies · 31/07/2024 09:03

Congratulations everyone!

I'd like to join to please. First baby so have no idea what I'm doing and very nervous.

Is anyone else having issues speaking to a medical professional? My local hospital has self referral which I've done but the automatic response says 'do not expect to hear from us before 8 weeks'. I called my gp yesterday for some medicine advice and was really robbed off by the receptionist saying I need to speak to my midwife. But I don't have one! Is this normal?

I'm sorry to hear about your first. Also feeling super anxious after a MMC at the end of May, 14DPO and still doing tests every day trying to see if the lines are getting darker. Think I'm just making myself more anxious at this rate.

Congratulations! This is the norm for my area too. They normally send a letter in the post with your first appointment which is the booking in appointment. This is normally around 8-10 weeks so always feels like forever away but it is completely normal!

CharlotteRae · 31/07/2024 12:03

I'm struggling to get hold of my local midwife, the gp sent me a link to self refer which I used but had a call today saying it went to the wrong area. Called gp back to ask if they had a telephone number instead and she said just google newly pregnant and will come up. Iv done that and nothing brings up any links to local midwife services 🤦🏼‍♀️

Could you use the self referral link your GP gave you first time round and explain that you know you aren't in the right area but can they direct you how to get in contact with the right area.... I work for the NHS and we have contact details for our neighbouring teams 😊

I got given a same day gp appointment when I asked for medication advice
That's rubbish.

I would just say to receptionist you need to discuss meds and not mention preg on phone when booking

fortheloveofcollies · 31/07/2024 13:19

Thanks @IVFlife and @Giraffeee

It does seem crazy to me that no one will speak to me until after 8 weeks. I'll try again with the gp. Hopefully it will be easier to get advice once I'm further along

fortheloveofcollies · 31/07/2024 15:11

Tried again and was told to use their online portal thing and a doctor would respond. I did and I got told to go to a pharmacist and speak to my midwife. Even though I told them that I've been to several pharmacists who have said I need to speak to my gp and I don't have a midwife yet despite self referring.

It makes me feel really alone. I'll just have to rely on the bumps website until I get my midwife appointment

Hi everyone! I’m the same with the testing, not much progression on the easy @ home which has made me spiral. A little better progression on the boots tests (early detection ones) and got 1-2 weeks on clear blue. Really not feeling too positive unfortunately though, probably should stop watching line progression videos on TikTok!

Remember the tests aren't designed to show progression. We've started using them like that but just because your lines aren't getting darker, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong.

Easier said than done but it's best to stop testing and treat it like everything is fine.

You’re right, I think it’s so hard after a loss to think rationally and I suppose we cling on to what we can.

Perexi · 31/07/2024 16:23

Hi - tentatively joining if that's ok!

We got a faint positive with due date estimated for 12 April, I tested early as I've had heartburn and nausea for last few days and last time I had this was when I was pregnant with my son!

I don’t understand why your GP is saying this to you at all. If it’s medication you are already on it’s up to them to review and change if needs be. Your midwife won’t be able to do anything for your medication and will refer you to the GP! I would keep trying! X

We sound so similar 🙈 I’m using easy @ home too and my line progression isn’t great! But I have read on here that they’re known not to be the best for progression. It doesn’t help when most of the TikTok videos have proper dark lines!

It’s lovely seeing new people joining the thread! 👋🏻

Well I am suffering today after being up all night with D&V (sorry TMI) and I can’t help
but worry it may have an effect on the pregnancy being so early on 😬

Unfortunately all tests have been lighter this evening, it looks like a chemical pregnancy is inevitable. I really hope you all have a happy healthy pregnancy 🩷🩵
