@Cinai I've also opted for an elective section as don't want to be induced.. also getting cold feet but think that's the panic setting in! Trying to tell myself I'll be in and out in an hour.. rather than an induction that could last for days and end in an emcs

@Lillers @BeautyAndTheBump1 I'm also only 35 weeks!! But baby needs to arrive before 23rd September due to age/risks so know she won't be an October baby

@hol92 I haven't got my date yet but won't be telling everyone. I think it'll freak me out more as people will be texting/calling to wish me luck, check in etc. I'll get overwhelmed as already very anxious. I might tell my mum but that's it, the rest can be surprised 😂

People are obsessed with the due date/when she'll be here and it's just building the anxiety and panic for me.

@SpicyMoth it sounds like you and your baby are ready!! Your body needs a break after this. Sounds like everything is ramping up a treat

tierneytarny · 19/08/2024 22:47

Just panic ordered babygros, baby bag supplies, post party supplies and hypnobirthing course. I am only 34 weeks but suddenly hit home this weekend that I’ve sorted very little 🙈

Happylittlebump · 19/08/2024 23:30

@BeautyAndTheBump1 don't worry I am only 34 weeks plus 1 day, does that make me potentially the latest due date here of 29th September? Eekk. I have booked in for a induction I don't think I will go for a sweep. I hope I don't have to have a induction and for the baby to come slightly earlier. I have an appointment with my midwife tomorrow to go through my birthing plan, I really hope to get to use a pool in the hospital.

tierneytarny · 19/08/2024 23:39

I’m due 30 Sept - 34 weeks today. I feel like it’s ages away (hence my lack of organisation).

Hoping I have a September baby and not kept waiting until October (though knowing my luck I will!).

PinkWatermelon88 · 19/08/2024 23:51

I’m 35w6d and tonight my 2yo head butted my bump accidentally. It’s been so sore since. Loads of movement but internal movements at that site feel very sore. Called a&e and have to go in tomorrow because we are different blood types. I need a blood test and the Anti D. Hope all is ok 😭💔

Happyshels · 19/08/2024 23:56

Hi
Anyone 18weeks pregnant x

PinkWatermelon88 · 20/08/2024 00:25

@Happyshels i think most on here are due in September (making us almost full term now) so you may have better luck trying the forum for your due month?

Xur · 20/08/2024 06:29

@PinkWatermelon88 I hope all is well ♥️

my conscious mind is sort of scared of the upcoming birth but my internal voice isn’t. There’s like an internal voice basically telling me I’m about to go through what I’m naturally destined to and it eases the stress really.

Caroline2023 · 20/08/2024 07:29

Hope everything is ok @PinkWatermelon88

@Cinai @WinsandSam also having an ELCS here.

@hol92 I’m also thinking I won’t be telling anyone the date when we do have it, just want to be undisturbed in our bubble that day and just before!

35+1 here and feeling pretty rubbish. Struggling with itching from raised bile acids, horrible heartburn and pelvic pain, all of which are keeping me up most the night. I’m now feeling like I’m counting down because of this and wanting time to pass quickly, but feeling bad for feeling this way!

Daphnethinks · 20/08/2024 07:45

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I'm due the day after you and feeling the same! Hoping for a September baby 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Daphnethinks · 20/08/2024 07:46

@PinkWatermelon88 ouch hope everything is ok 💛💛

WinsandSam · 20/08/2024 08:45

@Caroline2023 we must be due the same date as I'm also 35+1. Still awaiting my c section date though

MrsMoggy · 20/08/2024 09:26

Hope everyone is doing well. I’ve been keeping up with the thread when doing night feeds. Looking forward to lots more babies being born so we can share the trials of newborns.

Little girl is doing well, I felt good the first few days but now feel like been hit by a tank, think it’s a combination of the blood loss at delivery and my hyperthyroidism. Nearly fainted in the supermarket, cold all the time and having terrible night sweats. I also weighed myself this morning and am already back to the weight I was at 8 weeks pregnant, which I know some would see as a good thing but it just shows me that I didn’t have any reserves. Feel quite out of it a lot of the time, thankfully my husband is amazing.

Happy one week old to my little darling 💕

Daphnethinks · 20/08/2024 10:40

@MrsMoggy sorry to hear you are having a rough postpartum and hope you are getting the support you need!

Glad you've got your husband to help and happy one week of motherhood 🩷🩷

BakeOffRewatch · 20/08/2024 10:48

I’m just reading the home birth check list on NHS website www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/labour-and-birth/preparing-for-the-birth/pack-your-bag-for-labour/

I want to get bed mats but can’t find some for sale like this www.boots.com/boots-maternity-maternity-bed-mats-5s-10291533

I haven’t packed a hospital bag yet! I have all the stuff, thanks to people passing stuff on and maternity wear from last time, just not collected it together.

I am SO tired.

Hope it goes well for you @PinkWatermelon88. So good you can be self aware and honest with yourself @MrsMoggy so that you can rest and ask for help.

BakeOffRewatch · 20/08/2024 10:49

@TripleESept24 i was going to say you could get the Lasinoh cream on Vinted. It’s the kind of thing people gift and is never used, or they receive it in new mama bundles. I’ve been given an unopened pack this time.

MrsMoggy · 20/08/2024 11:08

Thank you @Daphnethinks and @BakeOffRewatch, think I just need to have a word with myself and remember that I had a major haemorrhage losing nearly 1.5 litres and you don’t just get over that in a week. Think the initial adrenaline has worn off and my body has just gone WTF. My thyroid levels were worsening towards the end of pregnancy and are likely to get worse postpartum so it’s a lot to contend with.

I didn’t have any of these problems 12 years ago with my son so it’s all new territory.

PinkWatermelon88 · 20/08/2024 11:17

Thanks everyone, just waiting in triage.

@MrsMoggy hope you feel better soon. You’re doing the right thing, double down on the kindness you’re showing your little one xx

mrsbgb · 20/08/2024 11:20

@BakeOffRewatch if you search for incontinence pads you can get the same thing - I got a pack off amazon, but then also bought these when we hired our birth pool: https://www.homebirthsupplies.co.uk/2pk-Disposable-extra-long-bed-pads-1

BakeOffRewatch · 20/08/2024 11:28

I was just looking at those @mrsbgb ! Were they good? Did you think two was enough? Boots do have these ones in stock, I need them for toddler anyway and thought it would be useful post partum, not just for bleeding but milk leakage too www.boots.com/boots-baby-disposable-bed-mats-8-mats-10243315

mrsbgb · 20/08/2024 11:29

@BakeOffRewatch they haven't arrived yet, but should be here tomorrow so I'll let you know if they seem decent! Baby is full term from Friday this week so if he appears quickly I can give you a full review 😂

BakeOffRewatch · 20/08/2024 11:31

Haha I’ll wait.

Thank you, the term incontinence bed mat did bring up more appropriate products. Prefer Boots for the click and collect convenience and points. Did anyone use their TENS machine? www.boots.com/boots-pharmaceuticals-staydry-disposable-bed-pads-12-pack-10129944

PinkWatermelon88 · 20/08/2024 11:39

I meant to say - my midwives recommended puppy toilet training pads!!!! They’re much cheaper and can be bought in bulk. Maybe have a looksee at those? Xx

BakeOffRewatch · 20/08/2024 12:35

Thanks @PinkWatermelon88 , I had a look at puppy pads the first time around in Wilko and they said they were toxic and to keep away from kids. Ended up overdue and induced in hospital anyway. Maybe other brands are ok.

Midwife just called to say she’s coming over with birth stool now! All getting real. I should probably pack that hospital bag shouldn’t I?

On a more lighthearted note, did you or do you have your names decided before arrival? With my first one we settled on the perfect feeling name about a week before due date. We have a few contenders this time but none have that ah perfect feeling.

Definitely need to give yourself some grace you've been through so much and will take time to feel better! Hope you can take it easy 💛
