@LoveYouHoneybear A mixture of excitement and terror seems to be the standard response, from my own experience so far 🤗 😂

Anyone else got the cba tiredness as opposed to actually sleepy? 😂 I’m sleeping well, don’t feel a need to go to bed earlier than usual which is 10:30/11 but I just cannot be bothered to do anything and I’m usually super productive haha. Like I get up to go make dinner and 5 mins later I’m sat down again and I’ve achieved nothing

Mamma36474 · 01/07/2024 17:18

I had an abdominal one at 8 weeks. Can you speak to them first?

Yes they said it will probably be abdominal after 8 weeks but I didn’t know if that was just a ploy to get me through the door, so your experience is very reassuring thank you!

the 2 week gap is what google tells me is safe in terms of risk reduction- unsure how scientific that is though 😂

retrievermum · 01/07/2024 19:12

@EastLondonCoffeeFiend this is my second pregnancy and I’ve never had a transvaginal scan despite having scans at 6/7/8/9 weeks (over both pregnancies, not all in one!). Last time I was pregnant at the same time as my friend and we both went for scans around the same time, hers was transvaginal and mine was abdominal and in terms of what you could/couldn’t see, they were both fine (shocking quality but could see a heartbeat for both at 7 weeks), so if you booked sooner you could request abdominal if you’d prefer :)

Also I spoke to my midwife about the two weeks between scans thing and she said it’s all a bit of a myth as ultrasounds are deemed to be safe for the baby, they just advise against because it can give a false sense of security! Both pregnancies I’ve had a scan about a week apart (in my first pregnancy both NHS) and nobody batted an eyelid, so that’s worth considering too :)

WildFinch · 01/07/2024 19:23

@EastLondonCoffeeFiend I had a scan today went with a full bladder and she tried abdominal but as my uterus is tilted back she had to do transvaginal so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. I'm only 7+3 though. Maybe if your further ahead it's easier?

SBelfast · 01/07/2024 19:36

@EastLondonCoffeeFiend I had a private scan last week at 7 weeks 3 days approx. They could see via abdomen with full bladder but she suggested getting a better pic with internal scan. So I opted in on the day but I'm pretty terrified with internal exams and such myself. It wasn't so bad, I think I was super tense so made it way worse for myself than it needed to be lol. It's put a lot of anxiety in me though about the rest of this journey!😂

Hope1986 · 01/07/2024 19:50

I’m so super anxious 😟 my dates are 5 weeks + 2 days. Although possibly a bit further on by a couple of days as I’m not sure when I ovulated so I took back to LMP. I know I shouldn’t but I had one left and Clearblue still says 2-3 weeks. I have no symptoms. I’m not sure if even my boobs hurt because I keep prodding them to check whether they’re tender. I don’t even feel as tired/bloated anymore and feel kind of empty. The only experience I have is this turning out bad. Can anyone reassure me? 🥰

T0r11210 · 01/07/2024 20:18

@Hope1986 I’m exactly the same! No symptoms at all, maybe slightly more tired in the evenings. Boobs aren’t as sore as they were but achy.
I got 3+ on clear blue this morning, 5 + 4 with SMU. I’ve heard some women with successful pregnancies never getting 3+
As long as there’s no bleeding with pain everything should be fine 🤞 every pregnancy is different but I feel your anxieties.

LoveYouHoneybear · 01/07/2024 17:51

Hi everyone. Love hearing about all the scans, still a wait for me... Only 5+2 over here! No symptoms at all aside from sore boobs. Hoping the sickness stays away- I was very sick with both my daughters. 🤢 still coming to terms with having a third. Sometimes I am so excited and other times I am terrified!

I’m 5 + 3/4 and feel exactly the same. I also had nausea by now with my DD. Also have the odd uterus twinge. You’re going to be fine 😘

Hey @Hope1986 did you end up doing HCG test?
I was reassured by a lot of stories about clearblue being wrong on 3+ and symptoms not being important before week 6. I think hcg and scan are the only ways to know better. Sorry, I am in the same position but know that you're not alone

Hey 😌 I did but despite promising the results today I haven’t had anything through which hasn’t helped matters! The GP did tell me not to place too much stock in tests because we are all different and every pregnancy is different. Also I tested tonight after gallons of water so it was a bit silly really! Sending positive thoughts to you 😚

Hope1986 · 01/07/2024 21:25

My beta HCG is 111, I don’t know how far along this puts me 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm sorry you're going through this. If you did the test through NHS, can you go somewhere help from the GP tomorrow?

No actually if conception was say 4 June earliest, pregnancy weeks for the purposes of HCG levels must be calculated from then right? So that would be 4 weeks pregnant?

ThisLimeDeer · 02/07/2024 06:45

Hi everyone!
Flo puts me at exactly 6 weeks today.
I’m a little bit worried about my booking appointment. I referred myself to the midwife as soon as I found out I was pregnant (about 11 days ago), however I still haven’t heard anything from them. Should I be calling at this point?
In the meantime I booked a private scan which is this Thursday. I’m
now worried that perhaps it’s too early? I will be 6+2.
This is my first pregnancy and I’m constantly very worried. Symptoms wise, I experienced very sore boobs maybe 2 weeks ago and since then I’ve just been gassy and bloated up until maybe last week when it eased a little. Cramps on and off, although a little bit less over the past couple of days, little twinges here and there. Nausea started a little bit a couple of days ago and it’s bad as I’m typing this. Tiredness started at the weekend, I slept most of Sunday. I keep reading your replies on this thread to reassure myself, thank you for being here.

UrbanSquirrel · 02/07/2024 07:10

@ThisLimeDeer Do you have to register with your GP or your hospital maternity unit in your area? They might be waiting until closer to the time - but I would say yes, give them a buzz just to check in with them.

Regarding your private scan, if this is one you've chosen, I would suggest holding off until 7 weeks if you can. Some of us measured several days behind at our first scan, and if that happens when you are 6+2 you are unlikely to be able to see much. Even if you're spot on at 6+2 you might not see a heartbeat yet - so I just worry you might be putting yourself in a position where it causes more anxiety than reassurance, and then you just end up having to pay for another scan as well.

That said, some people here HAVE had heartbeats that early, but it's far from certain. I was advised by my clinic to push the appointment back to 7 weeks + for precisely that reason. Just something to think about 🤗

@Hope1986 I'm so sorry you're going through this. Can't really offer any advice on the hcg angle, but just to say that the waiting game is crap, and to a certain extent we just have to endure it 😔 It's definitely the worst bit. And of course so much worse a wait if you've had previous experience of loss.

But I wonder - and I mean this with a lot of love - if you might make yourself even more anxious with repeated testing? Hard as it is, it might be best to try to just take every day at a time - and, as long as you have no severe cramps or bleeding, just hope that this means all is going as it should?

Regarding ClearBlue, I was still at 2-3 weeks at your point (5+2, right?). It only went up to 3 when I was 5+6. Because remember that to get your 'real' pregnancy age (which ClearBlue measures), you have to subtract 2 weeks from your gestational age. So don't see the ClearBlue reading as anything to worry about right now. I was exactly the same as you and had virtually no symptoms at that point.

I have no idea if any of this is helpful, but please try not to worry. On the other hand, absolutely feel free to vent here and we'll do what we can to reassure you (as @T0r11210 and @Lemonbalm8 have already been doing 🤗) x

Thank you, I think until the scan next week, I won’t know for sure. My test on the first pee of the morning (TMI sorry) is definitely getting fainter. I think I know what the scan will tell me so in the meantime I’ll just try and cling on to hope. By being here and reading all your stories I get some hope. Thank you all for your kindness @T0r11210 @Lemonbalm8 @UrbanSquirrel 🥰

elb1504 · 02/07/2024 09:37

@ThisLimeDeer I think they may wait until you're a bit further along to contact reference booking appointment as I guess a lot can happen in those early weeks and they'd have a lot of cancelled appointments following miscarriages etc...

My booking appointment isn't until I'm 10 weeks so could be worth leaving another few days then chasing if you haven't heard anything.

Pepsix · 02/07/2024 10:01

@ThisLimeDeer I think it depends on your area, I filled in the self referral to the midwife on the Sunday I found out not expecting to hear from them for a few weeks but I got a call the next day before lunch to book me in for 23rd July when I’ll be 9+5

EastLondonCoffeeFiend · 02/07/2024 10:07

@ThisLimeDeer I didn’t get my booking appointment scheduled until slightly over 6 weeks. It was actually booked in for less than 3 weeks later haha (just had it yesterday at 9 weeks), so I wouldn’t massively worry but maybe chase them up later this week if you haven’t heard?

Hello everyone, just had the dreaded news that my hcg has fallen from 1200 Saturday to 1000 yesterday with progesterone only 4.2!
I was feeling so positive as I had a 3+ on CB yesterday and you have to be 3000+ for that.
I guess the bad pains I was having Friday night was the start of a miscarriage, although I’ve had no more and no bleeding.

I'm so sorry @T0r11210 , that's very confusing. I didn't know HCG could change so quickly. To double check you could do another test, if it is falling... Again what a horrible situation to be in
