Had my 12 week scan this morning, how real doesn't feel when you see them wriggling around on the screen, official due date is the 7th february x

UrbanSquirrel · 26/07/2024 13:39

Amazing scan @Kt1704 they are both growing beautifully ❤️!

My sickness is hugely hugely better, I've still had the odd bout of nausea but on the whole I started feeling better about 10 weeks. Currently 11+1. Hopefully everyone starts to feel better soon!

I'm about 10 weeks and feeling better too. Was awful at the start of the week. Have you had your 12 weeks scan yet?

Odessa1 · 26/07/2024 14:59

12 week scan today. Was a bit of a pickle and I had to keep getting up and jumping around to get it moving. But due date given of 7th Feb. It actually feels real now, haha xx

Hi
I'm due end feb - if I make it
Reassurance scan Monday
I'm 44 and 7+ weeks

superj21 · 26/07/2024 16:36

@herewegoagain123456 I feel like I jinxed it because I've been feeling nauseous again today! Hopefully just a one off. Don't have my 12 week scan until 5 Aug.

MyHappyNewt · 26/07/2024 16:54

I had my 12 week scan today and relieved to say that they couldn’t find anything wrong with baby’s head and everything looked normal and healthy!

UrbanSquirrel · 26/07/2024 17:25

Lovely updates @Odessa1 and @MyHappyNewt! So pleased to hear that all is going well for you. Very good news that the head looks normal, Newt; and - Odessa - I too had to do my fair share of jumping to get a reaction at my scan 😂

Hello @N123C and welcome - I think this is your first post on the thread? Lovely to have you here and wishing you all the best for Monday. We'll all be rooting for you! x

Hi all.
Not posted on here for a few weeks. I'm now 10+5, still having bleeding/spotting/lots of discharge. Been told its from a cervical polyp but still doesn't give me much reassurance! We had a private scan last week and had my booking appt with the midwife yesterday, waiting on an appt for my 12 week scan. Once that is done she wants me to see the consultant to discuss complications I had with my last birth and this polyp. Feel like I can't relax at all with this pregnancy.

Pic is from my scan last week 😍

Loving all the new scan pics! @Kt1704 I've never seen a twin scan pic, so cute, hope you're doing ok!

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and must say I have felt a lot better today. Could the nausea be easing off bang on cue?? I really hope so!

UrbanSquirrel · 27/07/2024 06:37

@ThatBlueMoose It's so encouraging to hear that all the signs are good, despite the challenges you're been facing. It's also good to hear that you'll have a consultant keeping an eye on you too, just for extra oversight. The scan looks wonderful! Hello baby ☺️

@Redapple21 I think there is something to it, you know. 12+5 here, and although I've been lucky enough to escape the dreaded nausea, I have been so impossibly tired over the last few weeks - but I think that's easing a bit. And my sore breasts have definitely calmed down. Hopefully we're about to enter the fabled sunny uplands of the second trimester 😂

Just out of interest, for those who’ve had their 12 week scans and chose to have the combined test too - how long did it take for you to get the results of the test?

I had my scan on Monday and haven't had anything through yet, they said if there was any concern you'd be called within a few days and if all ok letter within a couple of weeks.

I'm hoping having not heard anything that all is OK probably by middle of next week I'll feel better if still not heard.

jaybeez · 27/07/2024 20:49

@rcppab with my first it was a week or so? Maybe closer to two. It was a wee while though.

retrievermum · 27/07/2024 21:20

@rcppab same as others, I got told if it was bad news I’d hear via phone call within a few days, if not my results would come up on BadgerNotes in a week or two. For my daughter (born 2023) the results came up on BadgerNotes within three days, this time around I had my scan on Tuesday and not had anything yet (which I’m hoping means good news!)

SBelfast · 29/07/2024 07:44

Happy Monday ladies! I hit the 12 week mark yesterday. Got a private scan and NIPT tomorrow and my booking apt Friday....finally!
Pretty darn nervous, going to be a stressful week but it's also an awful work week for me so I guess that's a good distraction!
Anyone else hit their 12 week mark?

P.s. I hate Mondays 😂

herewegoagain123456 · 29/07/2024 09:42

What is NIPT?

EastLondonCoffeeFiend · 29/07/2024 09:46

Congrats @SBelfast - based on my NHS scan last week and new due date, I’m 12+5 today 😊 Definitely a relief to cross the 12 week mark!

and I’m with you on the ‘I hate Mondays’ train!

Piluka · 29/07/2024 10:29

@herewegoagain123456 nipt it stands for Non-invasive Prenatal Testing. Basically, looks for Down's syndrome, Patau, Edwards and other cromosomical disorders.

jaybeez · 29/07/2024 10:35

I'm 12 weeks 3 days based on LMP but my private scan had me measuring a week behind (was the same with my first). I have my NHS scan tomorrow which is exciting! With my first I had to have a second scan as it was too early to do the checks, so kind of expecting the same tomorrow.

SBelfast · 29/07/2024 10:46

@herewegoagain123456 it's non invasive pre-natal testing - to look for abnormalities. The one I'm getting is a genetic blood test which will look at fetal DNA to identify any genetic abnormalities and also the sex. I don't think it is routinely offered on the NHS.

@EastLondonCoffeeFiend your nearly hitting the second trimester mark! Lol.
I've already had two melt downs at work and it's not even 10am 😂

SBelfast · 29/07/2024 10:48

@jaybeez good luck with tomorrow!
Exciting finally happening. Feels like the wait has been so long to finally get started and in the system..!

My hospital give the results via their app within a few hours! I had my 12 week scan last Wednesday at 10.30am and had the results through by lunchtime. Realise from other comments that might be uncommon though.

elb1504 · 29/07/2024 11:56

Good luck to everyone having scans and appointments this week!

I haven't heard anything from the NHS screening yet which I'm taking as good news still.

Feel a bit in limbo still for some reason and still occasionally nauseous I was hoping that would have fully disappeared by now. According to dating scan I'm now 13+6 so hoping that pregnancy glow turns up soon!

Told DS at weekend he wasn't interested and every time we try to mention it to him he doesn't want to talk about it, which is fine and how I expected him to act but glad we told him so I have an excuse for playing lying down games haha!

Fun Girl GIF by Pummeleinhorn

HI all

I'm 11 weeks and 3 days, but had my NIPT last week and just got the news that we're having a little girl!!!

I had thought as much because the nausea & tiredness has been horrendous, and I've had horrendous skin during 1st trimester too (compared to #1 who was a boy and I had no symptoms). But still absolutely blown away as we have no girls on either side of the family. Only brothers. Only boy cousins.

💞Absolutely over the moon! (Although won't have a clue what to do with a girl!!)

We're not telling anyone the gender - keeping it a secret for ourselves, like we did on the first. So had to come on and tell you guys as I'm about to burst!!
