Thanks @OrangeSlices998 and @UrbanSquirrel. I shall try not to worry too much about it, I'm more concerned with not being able to see my Mum than anything really. I do feel rubbish though, even my arm pits ache!

SBelfast · 22/07/2024 12:57

@PilukaI've my 12 week booking apt same day as you! Very nervous. Doing NIPT few says earlier, also 38 and anxious about risks.
I've been having odd dreams too, imagine that's normal. At the start I had a few dreams where I was enjoying wine and then was like crap I forgot I'm pregnant 😂

elb1504 · 22/07/2024 13:07

12 week scan all done, everything was fine and actually my due date has been bumped up to the end of January but hoping you guys will let me stay in this group 🙂

I was at the hospital for 2.5 hours as had to have consultant appointment, a few lots of bloods etc... so anyone who has one coming up if you have consultant appointment too it could be a long wait.

Consultant was really thorough and I have quite a few appointments over next few months which seems so strange from hardly any before. Also got to have the GTT which I actually don't know why, the only thing I can think is age?!

Good luck everyone else having there scans too!

UrbanSquirrel · 22/07/2024 13:56

Yay @elb1504 that's great news! So pleased to hear that all went well. You must be over the moon 🤩 Thanks for the warning about the hanging around in the hospital.

Could the GTT be related to BMI? If not it probably is just age - I have to have it too although in my case it'll be for both reasons.

Wonderful to hear that you've passed the first trimester with flying colours: the first of us to do so! 🎉 🥳

PS Of course we'll let you stay 💚 ☺️ x

Glad it all went well @elb1504 ! You'll be leading the charge with your bumped up due date but we'll definitely keep you 😁

elb1504 · 22/07/2024 15:06

Thanks @UrbanSquirrel @superj21 I do feel some relief, I know there's still a long way to go and I think I'll be much happier once I have the screening results.

Not sure on the GTT as my bmi is normal and I'm not over 40 so unless they've changed the guidelines or just fancied giving me everything 😂

elb1504 · 22/07/2024 15:09

Also what apps are everyone using to track the pregnancy, I haven't got any downloaded but now might be a good time.

Glad all went well! Age isn’t usually a risk factor to do a GTT. These are the NICE guidelines on who should be offered one

@SBelfast i'm glad that you also have odd dreams. Hahahaha I had dreams of eating rather than drinking something I shouldn't and freaking out realising I was pregnant.

So did you take a NIPT previous to your 12w scan? Is it not the same of what nhs is offering you?

Hmm that's strange I don't have any of those risk factors, I'll ask next time as its not until 28 weeks so plenty of time to find out. I'm not fussed by it anyway but was baffled by it, don't have any issues with my urine samples either!

EastLondonCoffeeFiend · 22/07/2024 17:19

@SBelfast I’ve been having very strange dreams, including multiple ones where I’ve accidentally got drunk whilst pregnant 😅 Think the odd dreams are ‘normal’ haha.

I’m also nervous for my 12 week scan (which for me, is this week) but it’s great to hear stories like @elb1504 ‘s scan today where everything went really well ❤️❤️❤️

AnnieStar12 · 22/07/2024 17:51

Hi all, I’ve been reading this thread but not posted since it was first started.

I also have my 12 week scan on Wednesday and am absolutely terrified - have had many dreams (nightmares!) about it too. I dreamt that I was told the baby had stopped growing but the sonogropher told me in song to the tune of 21 seconds to go!!

I’ve had two previous miscarriages in the last year and a bit and this is a bit of a miracle ivf pregnancy so I think I’m just a bit traumatised from the past 18 months which has been a rollercoaster of trying to conceive.

I had a nipT test done last week, luckily all came back low risk but the FF was incredibly low at 3% which has me really scared that something is wrong. So just want Wednesday to hurry up and come so I can know either way.

Big hugs to you. You’ve been through a lot to get to here, I have everything crossed for you for a lovely normal scan on Wednesday.

Whats FF? I haven’t had NIPT so don’t know what that is.

AnnieStar12 · 22/07/2024 19:45

@OrangeSlices998 its the fetal fraction so the amount of baby’s blood they were able to detect in my blood. I think at 10 weeks it should be around 10%. I’m not entirely sure what a low level means but googling it has made me quite nervous!

SBelfast · 22/07/2024 20:13

@Piluka so I've booked a private NIPT for the Tuesday before my booking apt on the 2nd August. I'll be just over 12 weeks then approx. Think you can do NIPT anytime from 10 weeks.
I'm actually not sure what testing they do in Northern Ireland, a different thread made it seem like not much is offered. Whereas I know in England they get offered the combined test, and I believe NIPT also on NHS in some places in UK.
Quite nervous about it all, will be a stressful week and I've a good friend coming to stay the Friday of my booking apt not sure I'll say or not yet. Didn't want to wait any longer, if I'd have been able to get an Apt this week (11) I'd have gone this week.
I'm sure I'll have more wierd dreams! I actually get nighttime hallucinations when I'm stressed which are pretty terrifying had one last night but wasn't too bad lol. Hoping they drop off after scans. @EastLondonCoffeeFiend must be the norm odd dreams, can imagine they will only get more strange lol.

mamataylor · 22/07/2024 20:31

UrbanSquirrel · 22/07/2024 22:11

Thrilled that you've had a good scan too @mamataylor! Wonderful news - and absolutely, definitely stay here with us. We're much more fun than the January thread 😜

Hi All!

Due on 11th I think, 12 week scan is next week. I'm 37 and we tried for ages, and to our surprise it happened 2nd cycle after hycosy :)

Is anyone else excited but also scared? Also is anyone really not enjoying being pregnant? The exhaustion and nausea has really done a number on me.

I am not enjoying it one but, all of a sudden in this last week I have been so ill. Was even sick all evening and night a couple of nights ago.

I've already declared that I'll be a "one and done" with how awful I've felt and how ill I've been already!

SBelfast · 23/07/2024 07:43

@JellyTots2021 @Odessa1 I feel you! I was also thinking one and done as the constant cramps, anxiety and pains were massively messing with my head. Was sitting thinking how could I have been so stupid to think I'd love being pregnant lol.
Touchwood now they've eased I'm just over 11 weeks. Before hand I guess naively I figured would just be nausea and bloating etc. Didn't expect pain. Hope everything eases in second trimester for us and we do start to enjoy it more. I think first trimesters just god damn awful as body's adjusting, you feel shit and probably aren't telling many people so you've a big secret anxiety over your head about what can go wrong, and gosh 12 weeks feels like a really long time! 😂

Odessa1 · 23/07/2024 07:54

12 weeks is so long to feel like crap in secret isn't it! I'm 12 weeks today and touchwood didn't have any nausea for the first day yesterday. Really hoping it continues (I haven't been sick yet today so that's a positive haha!)

SBelfast · 23/07/2024 08:28

Goodluck @Odessa1 long may it last! 😊

elb1504 · 23/07/2024 09:28

I've not really enjoyed this pregnancy so far either, nothing like my first and felt so rubbish. However I do seem to be turning a corner (apart from the heaving at the dishwasher again this morning) I have more energy and the all day nausea has mostly passed so hopefully it gets better for everyone soon!
