Hey guys. Joining the party very late! I found I was pregnant last weekend. Scan dating me 2nd Feb DD.
I already have an 8 month old, this pregnancy was certainly not planned. But exciting anyway

Does anyone else have a young child already?

Welcome to the party! Our due date is currently 3rd Feb (although I think it will get moved back at our 12 week scan next week, assuming everything else is ok).

First time for me though!

Toriiaa · 15/07/2024 10:24

@EastLondonCoffeeFiend I've changed my username and didn't realise the site doesn't update.
(I'm Victoriablossom)
I actually can't believe I'm pregnant to be honest. I only just stopped breastfeeding, so didn't have a cycle. Thought I'd just join on to the Feb babies chat.
Hope you're doing okay

Lidlisthebusiness · 15/07/2024 10:49

@Toriiaanot this time around, but I was pregnant with my 3rd when my 2nd was only 7 months. I just looked at it as if I'm changing one nappy, I might as well be changing two. They napped together, though the newbie did drop his earlier than usual as he stopped when his brother did.
You'll be able to get dark more rest in this preganancy than if you already had a toddler at least!

Toriiaa · 15/07/2024 10:58

@Lidlisthebusiness ah that's lovely to hear, how old are 1 and 2 now? Do they play together? I'm an only child, and really wanted to make sure my baby got a sibling as I had quite a lonely upbringing

Piluka · 15/07/2024 12:11

Quick question, is anyone taking some drugs for nauseas? They used to be mainly afternoon but now and then they have been almost all day. I feel very bad the whole day and I work full time so, no time to relax or taking it easy.

I feel very very poorly, I haven't vomit so far but the nauseas are killing me because I can have 4 days I a row all day nauseas and then 1 day they are only in the after noon and then back again to all day.

Any help, please?

retrievermum · 15/07/2024 12:33

@Toriiaa congratulations! I think I’m due 4th ish but 12 week scan is on the 23rd so I’ll get an official date then!

My daughter is 13 months old, so not a huge gap here either!

How are you feeling about it?

Toriiaa · 15/07/2024 12:36

@retrievermum I'm nervous to be honest. I have gone back to work at 6 months. But little one doesn't start nursery til she's 13 months.
So I have her at home most of the time or my mother in law has her.

I'm 35 so not getting any younger either.
How are you getting on? It's pretty surreal for me right now as I've only known a week.

Unlike my last pregnancy and I knew from about 6DPO, so the first 12 weeks was a right slog

Welcome! I have an almost one year old, who will be 19month when this baby arrives! Very much burying my head in the sand and will just deal with it when I have to 😂

retrievermum · 15/07/2024 12:50

@Toriiaa I’m also very nervous! We planned this baby but didn’t really expect it to happen so fast (in my head we were aiming for a September baby, not a February!)

One of my friends has a 14 month gap and she said it’s hideous for a few months but then when the little one is able to do anything other than lie there like a potato, it’s lovely and you’ve given your daughter a little best friend! Plus it gets the nappy stage out the way in one fell swoop, and my brother has a 2.5 year gap between his children and he said his wife was just getting her life back when the second one was born, so at least we’re still in baby mode!

I’m very much in slog territory atm, found out very early so I feel like I’ve known for ages!

Have you told many people yet?

NTT1986 · 15/07/2024 13:00

Hi all, Hope it is OK to join. I am 7+5 with my second baby, estimated DD 26th Feb. Weirdly feel much more nervous this time around which is partially due to lack of symptoms. I had bad nausea last time and was physically sick but no nausea at all this time. The only symptom I have is cramping and bloating which I didn't experience at all last time. Anyone expecting their second and experiencing pregnancy completely different this time? Trying not to worry but the wait for the first scan seems so far away!

I hope everyone else is doing OK. I've read through all the previous messages and you all seem like such lovely and supportive people.

Hi @Piluka, yes I got a prescription for prochlorperazjne from my doctor and it has been effective at helping me manage the nausea and vomiting. I would definitely suggest speaking to your GP if you're feeling sick

I was the first out of my friendship group to have kids, and now I'm the second to have a second baby... i am doing the same as you and burying my head in the sand. I mean its 202 days away according to Nurture 😂

Welcome! I'm expecting my 2nd and completely different pregnancy this time, opposite to you I've been very sick and nauseous (which I think is passing now) where as last time I had a bit of low level nausea.

They do say all pregnancies are different and seems like is true!

Jenfrogg · 15/07/2024 13:52

Hello everyone, I'm late adding myself here too, hope that's OK, didn't really think about joining a thread, should be somewhere like 9 +6 according to my dates, with my second (1st turned 2 last month).
Not sure how to reply directly to you NTT1986 but this pregnancy is quite different for me too, less nausea, more fatigue
Couple more weeks to go until scan 🤞

Toriiaa · 15/07/2024 14:27

@NTT1986 ohhh I feel you. Well my symptoms didn't exist. I only did a test because I thought it was an ovulation test strip and was trying to work out when I was going to ovulate.
I should have known something was up as my dog doesn't leave me alone when I'm pregnant and she's literally been my shadow for weeks. I feel so stupid for not noticing I was pregnant! But life is tiring with a baby, so I just put my tiredness down to having a baby already😂
Hope you're alright though

Mochipuff · 15/07/2024 14:29

Hi all. Tentatively joining this thread, although I've been reading along in the background quietly these past few weeks.

I'm currently 8 + 6 with my first.

Had an early private scan at 6 + 5 which showed a heartbeat and fetal pole etc, it felt really surreal! I don't think I quite believe it still.

Having another private scan this Wednesday, keeping all my fingers crossed til then.😀

Piluka · 15/07/2024 15:02

@superj21 thanks.

I mainly have nauseas all the day and gagging for around 2h.

Today I've called but they were giving me an appointment for the 17th of August. Otherwise, I'd need to call at 8 tomorrow and see if they have any appointments left (wouldn't be the first time I've call and everything has given at 8:03, true story) so we'll see. Many thanks.

superj21 · 15/07/2024 15:27

@Piluka 17th August seems ridiculous! Could you try calling back and explaining to the reception that you're just looking to get a prescription for anti sickness medication and maybe they'll be able to get the doctor to process / give you a telephone appt ?

herewegoagain123456 · 15/07/2024 16:44

Hey, so I hopefully should be due 23rd of Feb ish if all goes well, I've just been for a scan and there's a heartbeat! But between now and my next scan is where it all goes wrong.

So keep your fingers crossed guys 🤞🏽🤞🏽

This is great news, try not to think negatively.
This is an exciting time and feeling sad is not going to help your brain.
My first pregnancy was a mmc and I do genuinely understand the dread you have any moment you don't have an US putting your mind at ease,
You're gonna do this lady. Keep your chin up ❤️

They're 10 and 11 now! They've always played together though, my 3 boys are their own little gang. They each have their own interests, but they love a good time outside together, always have. This baby is my 6th, so I've got quite the little mob going!

Roxttc · 15/07/2024 18:30

I had a call from midwife today and got to go back for a blood test tomorrow as all my test results were fine but indicate low iron. Surprised me as I do eat red meat fairly often at least twice a week and also been taking high dose folic since Feb but we will see! I’m guessing if it is low I’ll need a supplement

Piluka · 15/07/2024 18:35

@superj21 I was hoping for a telephone appt but the receptionist was saying that I need to see the doctor. I mentioned about calling at 8 in the past weeks and being told all the appointments for that day were already given. And she just said "sometimes this happens. Call the following day" If I did not have anything else to do. 😅

Anyway, we'll see tomorrow and I'd mention what you said. 🤞

superj21 · 15/07/2024 19:08

Agh @Piluka that is so frustrating. Fingers crossed you can get through tomorrow!

apple67cherry · 16/07/2024 09:03

Hey guys, haven't been active on here for a few days. I'm 10+1 now, last scan 8+5 with beautiful baby and strong heartbeat.

On 9+5 I had two wipes of red and pink spotting again which hasn't happened for 4 weeks. They said last bleeds were top of cervix likely implantation taking ages and I had a nabothian cyst. So anyways..went to GP out of hours at 9+6 and they took a urine sample which had a fainter test line that I've had before. Doctor and I said this isn't exactly reliable as im 10 weeks gone but obviously this has panicked me. I've had no spotting since those two wipes and no cramping at all. I haven't suffered many symptoms in this pregnancy anyway but I think all in all this has totally panicked me. I have a scan with NHS tomorrow to check me over. Praying baby is okay 👌
