Congratulations everyone!

I am 5+6 today and after dtd last night I had some very slight pink spotting on toilet tissue and then some tiny red streaks this morning. I am hoping it was caused by sex as it does seem a coincidence. I had spotting with my DS and MC, so I know it can be normal or indicate an issue. Has anyone experienced this after dtd?

Thank you :)

Morning everyone! Interesting to read about everyone's symptoms.

I'm 5w+1 today with mild nausea, acne and fatigue. I tested yesterday for my HCG levels and they were 6540 - it's just within the 5 week range, but considering I was only 5w when I tested it will go well above the normal 5w range. I had a miscarriage in May and when I tested for HCG levels the result was 414 at 4w+6 - such a difference, but now worried about all sorts of other issues. May have a scan next Saturday at 6w+1.

May I ask how you tested your HCG levels?

May I ask how you tested your HCG levels?

I was going for a blood test (privately) to check my TSH levels, and decided to add the beta HGC blood test as they do a deal for any two blood tests

Has anyone else had HG in a previous pregnancy and now terrified of it happening again? I'm so scared every day! I'm on Cyclizine now hoping to prevent it!

I'm not sure if I qualified as HG last time definitely close if I didn't. I have bad sickness from 9-4pm through the first and third trimester and was on cyclizine in both trimesters with time off work and lost a lot of weight. The only plus was it passing in time to be able to eat an evening meal.
Last time the nausea started at 6 weeks and sickness at 7 weeks. I'm 5+5 and was sick for the first time yesterday and a bit of nausea on other days. I'm nervous of the sickness returning. My first was a summer baby and pregnancy sickness in the 3rd trimester when it was warmer was much harder on me than in the first trimester in Jan-March.

Oh bless you, sounds like it was! Are you on meds now? It's so terrifying isn't it, especially with another little one to look after! Don't be scared to speak to your doctor and get antisickness again if you need it. Sending positive vibes for no sickness! Xx

ChristmasJumpers · 06/07/2024 17:53

I was nauseous 24/7 with my last pregnancy and my GP refused me any meds for it 😫 I was sick 2-3 times per week but completely off food so I lost lots of weight in the first trimester. I have some on and off nausea now and have been sick once, I really hope it doesn't get worse

Superscientist · 06/07/2024 20:07

@Beth06 yeah I'll go back for meds if needed. They made a big difference last time. On the meds last time a bad day was being sick a couple of times without I barely left the bathroom! 😂
@ChristmasJumpers oh that's not fair at all! Do push for something if you struggle again. Hopefully they will be more pragmatic. Maybe try different GPs? We had a very unhelpful GP with my daughters reflux she just kept telling me it was a washing problem. I kick myself for not seeing a different GP as it was 17 weeks before she was on adequate treatment. Not all GPs are equal and some come with their own preconceptions.

My gp judged it purely on my weight loss and the impact on my mental health she never asked how much I was being sick.

Sickness runs in my family. It contributed in my sister having a termination for medical reasons. The pregnancy wasn't viable and she was given the option of waiting to miscarriage or terminate and her HG was the deciding factor. She had lost a stone and as she was underweight before pregnancy she didn't have the weight to lose. She can't tolerate antiemetics as they have the opposite effect and make her very sick.
I was 10 days old when my dad realised he didn't have to bring my mum a ginger biscuit in bed before going to work for the nausea 😂

That's horrendous!! Do speak to Pregnancy Sickness Support if you need help in this pregnancy because they can advocate for you and help you with your GP!

missshortie89 · 06/07/2024 20:27

Heyyy, we're due 09/03/25 with our rainbow baby.

I'm terrified, we told our parents about the last one but they were so crushed when we miscarried (on mother's day, of course) that we're not telling anyone till 12 weeks this time.

We'll have a 7 week scan but we were told it stopped growing at 5 weeks last time which is where we are now and I am double guessing EVERYTHING.

Am I as sick as I was yesterday? Do my boobs feel as weird? Am I as tired? The last 2WW felt like a year and now it's another till our scan.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Sorry to over share, I just needed to say it to someone as we're not telling anyone just yet.

ButItHasCheese · 07/07/2024 04:52

@Beth06 I did - currently very very nauseous, but only vomiting once a day. I'm going to ask for meds I think

Kingofthetyrantlizards · 07/07/2024 06:58

Hi everyone! Congrats to all the new joiners!

Well I'm 6+2 now and the nausea I had around week five seems to be non-existent now, so hoping that's not a bad sign... I know early symptoms can come and go so not too worried yet.

I've also got some horrible lower back pain - has anyone else experienced that yet? I did not come into this pregnancy in great shape so worried about how it's going to be physically.

@missshortie89 share away. I think it's normal to question everything, but remember that every pregnancy is different so even if your boobs are less sore it doesn't mean anything.

NewMumSendHelp · 07/07/2024 08:42

@ChristmasJumpers I had very similar with my gp. From weeks 6-20 I was being sick multiple times a day and they wouldn’t give me any medication. I really hope it’s not like that this time around, all this reading about sickness is bringing it all back for me. I have a toddler now so no time for being sick!!

NoisyBee · 07/07/2024 09:05

Hi all! Thought I would officially join this one as been silently watching as I am part of the February due date one but my due date is 27th Feb so can easily slip into this one.
Have a private scan next Monday when I will be 7 weeks 4 days so might know more accurate due date then.
This is my first pregnancy and have lots of anxiety.. no sickness yet and the only real symptom I have is tiredness. Been having some spots of brown blood the last couple of days.. hope that is normal ?
Xx

Melusina123 · 06/07/2024 09:52

@ridl14 I looked this up last time, and there is an association between nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and success of pregnancy but it's very small, a lot of women have successful pregnancies without any NVP and a lot of people with NVP sadly still miscarry. That said! I found the underlying studies and as I recall all NVP was coded together; i.e. there wasn't a distinction between nausea and vomiting, and it really only associated with successful pregnancy after 8 weeks. My conclusion as I recall was that you want mild-moderate nausea from 8 weeks on to feel reassured; anything else is just pointless suffering. 😂 (Said with tongue in cheek, fluctuations in symptoms made me extremely anxious last time; this time I'm trying to just take it as it comes, there's such a wide range of normal and symptoms actually don't tell you very much.)

I'm feeling a little nauseous today, am 5+4. It really kicked in at 6+0 last time so pretty much on schedule. We're going to try and go for a nice meal today in anticipation of me possibly not enjoying another meal after that for several months.

Edited

Thank you! That is reassuring 🙏🏻 I'm definitely having some nausea just not actually throwing up. I'm also finding if I eat something small like a cracker or Cheerios fairly regularly and put a fan blowing into my face, have something ginger I can reduce it!

Hope the meal out was lovely!

Hey girls, tentatively taking a spot if that’s okay ❤️ I’m 5W2D today. I have a beautiful baby boy who is 2.5 years old. Our first pregnancy in 2020 ended in needing to have an ERPC at about 9 weeks which was incredibly traumatic. We have been trying for 8 cycles with a chemical pregnancy in April. Sooooo feeling pretty anxious but also strangely calm. Just hoping all goes well really.

I’ve had some really strong lines plus a dye stealer on a FRER on Friday at 21DPO and trying to not test any more now although that was such a comfort to me. Torn between trying to pretend this isn’t happening and wanting to talk about it!

Lovely to read all your stories and seems like lots of us have had sad experiences. Also really good to hear lots aren’t having symptoms yet! I hardly any any symptoms with my baby boy so I know that’s normal but also what I wouldn’t give to just feel something! I know it’s still early too.

I was poorly last week with an awful cold and fever which I think may have been COVID but I couldn’t test - feeling much better now and apart from increased thirst, peeing more and on/off sore boobs I feel totally normal. I had really sore boobs on the sides which is what made me know I was pregnant and to test at 14DPO but they have subsided now. Obsessively checking my fertility friend notes from 2021 to compare symptoms haha! Anyway, happy Sunday all 🥰

Does anyone fancy being in a WhatsApp group? I find this hard to keep up with and reply! Happy to facilitate x

PregnantNowScrewed · 07/07/2024 17:45

I’d prefer to keep it on mumsnet if ok
with you @Beth06 … I like the anonymity.

Nausea has hit here at 6+1! Trying to look on the bright side that it is at least reassuring something is happening in there.

Of course, just a suggestion 🥰

Bless you, hope you're okay xx

I think both a WhatsApp and a private Facebook group have been mentioned already, with a lot of people wanting to wait until they are a bit further along @Beth06 . But I agree with you, it's hard to keep on top of this! X

AHH okay, glad it's not just me that struggles with this! No worries, happy to go with either whenever anyone else wants to 🥰 xx
