I have had a little bit of nausea a couple of evenings nothing too bad yet. Last time it was awful!

Congratulations @carnation2531 and @Natalie2705 i hope this is a new beginning for both of you.

Melusina123 · 04/07/2024 18:00

My booking appointment is on 27 July. And GP has done the referral to EPAU to request a 7wk scan due to previous miscarriages. Just waiting to hear if they'll do it.

I know I ovulated late so just dreading everyone acting like I'm further along than I am and then baby seeming behind. Like if I do a scan at 7wks by dates and little blob is only 6wks. I know it's silly but last time I ovulated bang on CD14 and was always at or ahead of my dates and it was so reassuring. 😩

VLT36 · 04/07/2024 20:10

Hello to all the newcomers and congratulations!
How is everyone getting on?
I'm 5+2 today and looking to book an early scan in about 10 days time. That was when I found out it was twins last time. However I had a strong feeling it was twins as well! This time around I haven't had that feeling. So will be interesting to see what the scan says!

PregnantNowScrewed · 04/07/2024 21:12

@Melusina123 could you just shift your LMP date forward a bit so that it fits your ovulation? I have done that in the past as it’s just easier than explaining re ovulation date.

This time I think I ovulated on cd12 so will probably measure “ahead” all being well. The earliest my private doctor can fit me in for a scan is 29 July, so I will probably try to get an earlier one at one of the commercial clinics in the next week or so.

@VLT36 i always imagined I’d have twins as they run in my family - my siblings are twins, my mum’s siblings are twins and she has lots of twin cousins. But I have no symptoms at all yet really so nothing to suggest it this time round.

Melusina123 · 04/07/2024 21:20

@PregnantNowScrewed I contemplated doing that but then decided not to - now I feel quite silly for not doing it. 🤦‍♀️ You're right it would have been the sensible thing!

Our nurse told us I was much higher risk for multiples because I had two follicles growing and the lines were quite dark on my tests so I am a bit worried about multiples. As well I am getting quite a bit of cramping so my anxiety is telling me there's two implanting 😬 I won't know for weeks!

MrsWindrush · 05/07/2024 08:20

I'm also feeling a little anxious re the prospect of possibly having multiples - have had quite a few implantation cramps and a dark dye-stealer line from just 3 days after my missed period...hadn't really considered it before though! Genuinely don't know how people manage with twins...really hoping there's just one healthy little baby in there!

Superscientist · 05/07/2024 09:06

My sister was a twin so I'm nervous about it too.
When we had our first scan with my daughter when we got to the car and we both at the same time did a big sigh of relief and said "there's just one".
Friends of mine ended up with 3 under 2 when they had twins the second time around. It did make me pause a little longer so I would be emotionally ready for 3 little people.

I'm getting pretty tired and feel a bit nauseous today. My daughter reflux is flaring up again so she's not sleeping which isn't helping!

m00ngirl · 05/07/2024 09:07

I would do anything for twins! Instant family! 😅😍

Irish812 · 05/07/2024 12:18

Hi all, so delighted to be joining this thread. Got my BFP on Wednesday (my birthday) at 10dpo. I'm 12dpo today and should miss my period tomorrow.
This is our 1st pregnancy ttc 6 months so absolutely over the moon and fx for a healthy sticky bean.
@m00ngirl I'm a twin! Fraternal sister. The thought has crossed my mind alright!

Zuzu2020 · 05/07/2024 13:28

@ChristmasJumpers Happy Birthday!! 🎂

Hope everyone is feeling ok! I am 5+5 and the nausea has well and truly arrived here. I am massively craving savoury again like I did with DS - I might have to go on a special pregnancy snack shop tonight if I can muster the energy. I asked my mum to make me some cheese scones as can’t stop thinking about them 😂

Is anyone else in the same boat and got some snack recommendations?! 🙏 Marmite on buttery toast was a winner this morning! Hot drinks out the window.

Superscientist · 05/07/2024 17:11

I'm 5+3 and was sick after breakfast and lunch. I'm alright the rest of the time which a small mercy.

With my first salt and vinegar was good for my nausea. The salt and vinegar rice cakes where good. Ryvita with peanut or humus for savoury and with chocolate spread if you switch to sweet!

Definitely get some cheese scones. I really craved homemade scones jam and clotted cream towards the end of my pregnancy with my daughter. I promised myself I would bake some when I started my mat leave.... She made an early arrival the day before my leave started and she was 10 weeks old before I got them! Definitely don't wait!

26dX · 05/07/2024 17:40

I've had 2 dreams this week that I've had a BFP 😂😂 send help...

CaffeinatedLondoner · 05/07/2024 20:41

Any others with IBS? TMI but my symptoms are sooo much worse since testing positive. This is my third pregnancy (but hoping first that sticks) and I've never experienced this before. The bloating pain floors me, instantly after eating. I was at the gym earlier and had to tap out it was so bad. Reflecting that it may be because I've been an anxious wreck since finding out...!

26dX · 06/07/2024 08:30

Just jumping on as even though AF isn't due until around the 10th I couldn't help but test .. 🥹

Due March 2025
ELJ1502 · 06/07/2024 08:53

Congratulations @26dX

ridl14 · 06/07/2024 09:23

How's everyone getting on? I'm currently at 6w+3.

So far I've found the exhaustion is insane! The only other time I've been more exhausted was when I was very ill with a thyroid issue. I'm sleeping almost constantly at home and dragging myself through work. Thankfully I'm a teacher so summer holidays starting soon as usually it's quite intense physically (for a non manual labour job and when you just want to sit down!)

I've also been having some nausea, no actual vomiting yet which is hopefully normal. Never thought I'd wish for that 🤣 yesterday me and DH went for dinner after dragging myself to the gym, he asked if I was okay and I said "I feel weird, I can't tell if I'm hungry or nauseous or I'm going to cry, maybe all three".

I've got my booking appointment on the phone next week then going away the week after, it's a trip we already had booked and one I'd wanted to do as a bucket list thing for years, finally doing it apparently right at the peak of when nausea hits! But I'm hoping to just take it easy, make the best of it and eat lots of crackers 😂

Melusina123 · 06/07/2024 09:52

@ridl14 I looked this up last time, and there is an association between nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and success of pregnancy but it's very small, a lot of women have successful pregnancies without any NVP and a lot of people with NVP sadly still miscarry. That said! I found the underlying studies and as I recall all NVP was coded together; i.e. there wasn't a distinction between nausea and vomiting, and it really only associated with successful pregnancy after 8 weeks. My conclusion as I recall was that you want mild-moderate nausea from 8 weeks on to feel reassured; anything else is just pointless suffering. 😂 (Said with tongue in cheek, fluctuations in symptoms made me extremely anxious last time; this time I'm trying to just take it as it comes, there's such a wide range of normal and symptoms actually don't tell you very much.)

I'm feeling a little nauseous today, am 5+4. It really kicked in at 6+0 last time so pretty much on schedule. We're going to try and go for a nice meal today in anticipation of me possibly not enjoying another meal after that for several months.

bouncingblob · 06/07/2024 10:00

Checking in with some trepidation. Second pregnancy after a MMC, four months on.

Had a very weird month with ovulation - had two separate HCG spikes (tested) but think the second one was the egg release as didn't start testing positive for pregnancy until a week after my period was due, which would be in line with ovulating a week later than normal.

However for my MMC it was a late ovulation as well, hence the trepidation.

No real sense of "feeling" pregnant yet either, just tired and peeing a bit more often. Should be around 5 weeks at the moment, I think!

Praying that this one works out.

PregnantNowScrewed · 06/07/2024 10:02

I had no pregnancy sickness at all with my DS - I felt absolutely fantastic! I also had glowing skin and my hair looked great.

With DD I had horrendous all day nausea from week 6-13 but never threw up. And also awful acne 😭

I’ve had 4 mcs and had nausea with some and not others, but never vomited. I will be interested to see what happens this time as it might give me a clue to the sex of the baby! Think I am 6 weeks today but no nausea yet.

MrsWindrush · 06/07/2024 10:08

Urgh nausea started for me yesterday, and I threw up this morning. Feels earlier than with my DS - this it started with him around 6 weeks, but I'm only 4+6 today. Had forgotten how grim this part is, very grateful that my husband is around this morning and was able to do the morning toddler shift whilst I stayed in bed feeling sorry for myself!

ELJ1502 · 06/07/2024 10:54

Morning everyone,

Definitely grateful for a Saturday morning lie in. Fortunately, my DD also decided she needed the same. 🙈 Exhaustion has definitely been huge this time. I’ve been going to bed so early or falling asleep on the couch.

Nausea is well set in too. I’m just trying to eat little and often. I think I had the same with my first; five years ago seems like such a long time.

I had my 3+ on Clear Blue today which has helped a little but I’m so anxious. We went for an early scan at 8 weeks last year and was told there was an empty sac. I had the pregnancy symptoms, positive tests etc but then just nothing. We’re booking an early scan again but I don’t think I’ll relax until we get a sign of something.

Patty101 · 06/07/2024 11:11

Congratulations everyone!

I found out about 10 days ago that I'm pregnant with my third. Already have a 6 and a 3yr old and I thought I was done, but had a change of heart and we decided to try again. I'm 38 so thought it would take months, but since becoming pregnant on our first attempt I'm still in a state of shock I think. Happy shock, but still shock.

Can't shake the feeling that this is all a bit too good to be true. Never had an early scan before but I'm considering one this time round just to give me a bit of reassurance. Would be due early March if everything carries on nicely.

No major symptoms yet, just a bit nauseous when I'm hungry and boobs are huge! Oh and I'm shattered all the time but think that's normal these days anyway.

PregnantNowScrewed · 06/07/2024 11:59

@Patty101 congratulations! Exactly the same boat here - 6 and 3 year old and conceived first time which was a bit of a surprise…DH relented, we dtd 1 night, next day I decided probably wasn’t such a good idea after all and then positive test 🤦‍♀️.

I am half excited and half terrified! I think the kids (ds and dd) will be delighted though.
