@Beth06 we have a WhatsApp group for my DS which morphed out of the Mumsnet group but I think we started it up a bit later - maybe 12 weeks+? Anyway it's fab and we still all chat regularly/have had multiple meet-ups around the country with our now 18 month olds! I'd be up for joining one in a little bit - feels v.early now to do so!

We had one too which I think came from Mumsnet. Ah that's amazing that you do that! Love it! Yeah I think because I found out so early it just dragging for me 😭,😂 lol xx

I think both a WhatsApp and a private Facebook group have been mentioned already, with a lot of people wanting to wait until they are a bit further along @Beth06 . But I agree with you, it's hard to keep on top of this! X

I agree with this, happy for something down the track (prefer Facebook) but I'd just like to get a bit further down the road first. I'm still in a Facebook group from no 1 and it's great but I didn't join it until I'd got through the 20wk scan. 😂

DreamingOfAmericana · 07/07/2024 19:07

Yesss I’d love WhatsApp or FB but agree a little later - great idea though! :)

@Beth06 yeah I went on an antihistamine that helped (but made me drowsy). GP refused to prescribe it until 10 weeks though; honestly was awful... I'm not sure why we're made to prove we're really suffering first tbh - makes me question if the meds are safe (I'm sure they are - but why is it such a struggle to get them?)

Oh my gosh that's awful!!! I think a lot of doctors are reluctant because they don't want their name Against it if something goes wrong. Also a lot of doctors aren't up to date with new information and guidelines. RCOG has issued new ones this year for NVP and HG. They're all safe, the only one that has slightly higher risks is Ondansetron. I think there's also a certain expectation that women just have to deal with it, which isn't the case but some GPs still think like that xx

PregnantNowScrewed · 08/07/2024 10:06

How is everyone today?

I’ve just booked my early scan for tomorrow. I will only be 6+1 by LMP but I ovulated cd12 so expecting to measure a little ahead of that. It is super early but I’ve seen a heartbeat by now on my successful pregnancies so fingers crossed. I’d much prefer to have left it a few days but have a crazy week this week with work.

Superscientist · 08/07/2024 10:10

I have to stay on medication in pregnancy. I didn't have any issues with getting antiemetics and omperazole for reflux. I wonder if already being on meds changes there opinion on my risk profile.

Also highlighting impact on my mental health as the primary goal for me in pregnancy and afterwards is to do anything to stay mentally well and drs are usually on board with this. You shouldn't have to be on the SMI list to get this though!

I did have issues with therapy though. The constant sickness and reflux made me miserable so I was referred for CBT. At the outset I said I wanted support for management of my mood wrt to pregnancy symptoms. After 5 weeks of not getting anywhere with the CBT I repeated that I wanted support for management of my mood wrt pregnancy and they told me it was never going to be suitable and discharged. Thankfully the perinatal team involvement was due to pick up but a lot of women wouldn't have had that as a back up.

Pregnancy is hard on the mind and the body and it's completely underestimated. The trimester I liked the most was the third not because it was the easiest but because it was now more acceptable to be not enjoying being pregnant!

Hi everyone!

Just got my bfp this morning after a loss in May 🌈

Due March 2025
26dX · 08/07/2024 12:43

@Jessica1993x ah congratulations 🩷

ChristmasJumpers · 08/07/2024 17:08

Had to really push for it and tell my GP that I was willing to take the "risks" (which he couldn't list for me), but I got cyclizine prescribed today. I am really hoping it works as today I've had nothing but ice lollies and I am so drained of energy

I'm up for a WhatsApp group down the line! @Beth06 I absolutely know what you mean, I've been so exhausted I'm barely keeping up with my current texts though so idk how much use I'd be on WhatsApp atm either 😂

Just wondering if there was anyone else with a thyroid issue on here? I've just had a blood test brought forward today as the fatigue has been so intense and we're going away next week. Kind of dreading the plane ride and potential nausea/food aversions while away but trying to think positive 🤞🏼

I was also SO bloated today! I've obv not told anyone at work, wore a thin jumpsuit with a tie-waist and thought I actually can't wear this again for a while, I've had such a bloated lower belly. Though I know it will go down again prob by this evening!

I really hope it works for you! Are you being sick a lot? Xx

ChristmasJumpers · 08/07/2024 20:24

@Beth06 I'm actually not but I have nausea 24/7 and have been unable to eat or drink, so I'm feeling pretty weak
So far the pills aren't working 😬

Ah bless you it's awful isn't it 😞 don't be afraid to go back and ask for different ones if Cyclizine doesn't work for you. How far along are you? Xx

ChristmasJumpers · 08/07/2024 20:35

@beth06 I'm 6 weeks 4 days. Not sure if I'm being dramatic or if it is really quite bad nausea

ninaballerina12 · 08/07/2024 20:59

Hope those with nausea are doing ok; it’s so tough when it’s 24/7! I feel like I am simply surviving the day at the moment and I’m only 6+1. Getting my toddler fed, bathed and happily sleeping feels like the biggest achievement in the world 😅 I keep telling myself it is only temporary and so worth it!

I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Dash Water; it’s sparking water infused with just fruit. It’s really helping me take the edge off without OD’ing on sugar!

Anyone else really struggling with anxiety? Every little twinge I'm worrying and I'm waking up in the night (sometimes more than once) just with anxiety in my chest.

This morning was 3am and 5am, 5am I had a little pain in my pelvis on the right which is the ovary I ovulated from (fertility treatment which I how I know) and panicked I was having an ectopic pregnancy.

Objectively it's all a bit silly but it's really affecting me ☹️

Lottie20246 · 08/07/2024 21:14

Hi everyone and congratulations! I'm 5 weeks and 4 days, this is my first pregnancy so not sure what to expect!

I'd definitely be up for a WhatsApp chat @Beth06 once I've had my first scan :)

@carnation2531 sorry you are feeling so anxious, I also keep worrying that symptoms are disappearing and what that might mean, I hope you've got some good support at home x

If it's bad enough that you can't eat or drink then you're definitely not being dramatic!! Xx

Yes I've got so much anxiety for many reasons. This was also one of my worries, it is normal to have some periody pains and sharp pains but I was anxious of this so spoke to epu who scanned me. Might be worth you speaking to epu, might give you some reassurance? Xx

ButItHasCheese · 09/07/2024 03:19

@ChristmasJumpers agree that if it's not working after a day or so push for something else. I had cyclizine with DC1 and it didn't really make a dent. I'm on something else this time, and it's helped (I've still got low grade nausea, but can fight through it and at least eat/drink a bit)

SummerSun24 · 09/07/2024 06:37

Hi all, I would like to join! Had a vvfl last night and what I think is my BFP this morning at 10dpo! Was having stark white negatives with DC1 at this point. So so nervous as I was first time round. Took a bit longer to conceive for us this time as well so feel like that's adding to the nerves. The 8 week wait (to the scan) should be a thing like the 2ww 😂

Plan to take my last cheapie Thursday and digital weeks on Friday. Due date currently mid march ISH, but I ovulated late this cycle so depends what you go by.

Due March 2025
