So sorry to hear this @MrsH1990 - I hope the recovery is smooth for you!

Inlaw · 26/07/2024 21:41

I have found a cure for morning sickness!!!!

Have been on Cylizine for sickness but I was still very ill.

Started drinking 250ml bottle of Tom Parker’s Creamery Banana Fudge Milk both morning and night. And now not thrown up for 2 days!!

This is groundbreaking for me. Last time I went to 17 weeks incapacitated day and night. Praise the lord 🙏

@SharingEasesWorries The twins were babies 2+3. We discovered them at a private scan around 9 weeks. I remember thinking I had seen two blobs but then the sonographer went very quiet for a minute until she said, "I have some news... there's two of them!" Fortunately my (then) 3.5 year old broke the silence by saying, "oh my goodness, two twin babies!" otherwise there would have maybe been a few much shorter words from me and DH!! I still don't quite believe there's two of them sometimes! At the private scan the sonographer said she didn't know what type of twins they were, but it was confirmed at 12 weeks that they were MCDA (monochorionic, diamniotic) which means one placenta, two sacs, at which point I was referred to fetal medicine. I had a bit of a complicated pregnancy and they were born at 33 weeks but, like I said, are now two very normal two year olds. The only thing more fun than one toddler is two toddlers!

It is certainly something that takes a while to get used to; my first thought was all the practicalities like how we'd fit them in the car! But it really is something quite special to have twins and I couldn't imagine my life without them now!

In other news... I am 5 weeks today and off for a blood test as my first born very kindly started off the school holidays with slapped cheek syndrome! I don't even have my booking appointment booked yet but the midwives were very keen to see me asap to get the test done.

@llamabeans That is lovely. The part that your son broke the silence is funny. Btw Congratulations! Is this your fourth one? Sorry for all the questions. Kind of you to answer them. Is it ok if I DM you some of them if I think of anything?

Currently it's been nearly 2 days since the news and I am waking up really early every morning and unable to go back to sleep. So many practical, emotional thoughts on my mind. We haven't yet told our five year old. We thought we will let him know around 12 week scan if all goes well. 🤞 🤞

Hope everyone else is going alright. Sorry haven't been too active

Hi everyone, I just tested at 21dpo hoping to get the 3+ weeks result but it’s still showing 2-3 weeks, the same as 1 week ago 😔 I took a second one to be sure and got the same result. Do you think this signals an issue? I have a history of MMC but usually it’s later.

21DPO is 3 weeks on the dot so technically you are still 2-3 anyway. But even if it's still the same tomorrow or the day after, try not to worry too much, I'm having similar issues with clear blue weeks indicator. My husband did some research on their accuracy and it should only be used as an indicator. They are not quantitative tests. There is some overlap in levels between the weeks and women have different ranges. I'm trying to assume everything's ok until it more clearly isn't.

Boymum3722 · 27/07/2024 08:30

CatmumTTC · 26/07/2024 07:50

Hi all, I took another digital test today, hoping to see some progression from the 1-2 weeks it showed last Saturday. But it's still showing 1-2 weeks and now I'm worried. I should be 17DPO today. I thought testing would be good to put my mind at ease but I regret it now!

Husband has a brilliant mathematics brain and has looked at the accuracy ranges etc for the 2-3 week range, apparently it's the hardest one to predict. So there's still some hope. But I've had such bad general anxiety this past couple of days so now I'm anxious about this instead!

Hey, sorry you’re in this position too. I hope you are feeling ok today x

Oh bless you. You’re still in the 2-3 week window so do try not to overthink this. I don’t think this in itself would be indicative of any issues!

There's so many other antisickness, Cyclizine didn't work for me either so I'm now on Metaclopramide. Ask your GP for something else xx

I'm sorry to hear that @MrsH1990 and I hope your recovery goes well. I had a tube removed because of an ectopic in Feb and I definitely pushed myself a bit too much and it slowed my recovery. However I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant, and the hospital has told me I ovulated from the side where I lost the tube. Female bodies are amazing, and they can adapt so quickly.

CaffeinatedLondoner · 27/07/2024 14:39

Just had a scan at 7+2. Saw their little heartbeat and me and my husband have both been in a daze of excitement and shock since leaving 😂 even though we obviously knew there was a little bean cooking in there, it's bizarre what a surprise it was still to see it.

HappyGoLucky31 · 27/07/2024 14:41

Hi lovely people, happy Saturday.

I found out I was due with my second DC on 29/06 and have since had bleeding for about two weeks - mostly old brown blood. I’ve had two scans at my EPU since and the last one, last Friday put me at six weeks, six days and I saw a little dinky heartbeat.

because I had a loss before my DS in 2019, a MMC at 11 weeks I can’t get a handle on my worry.

have a teeny tiny little pot belly, but because you can’t physically see something yet and of course can’t be scanned all day everyday, I find it hard to stay rationale sometimes.

so my question to you all is: what do you guys do to stay calm and pass the time?

my edd is 09/03/2025 and my 12 scan is 29th Aug, feels ages away! X

Onthedouble123 · 27/07/2024 17:24

@HappyGoLucky31 it's so hard! I had heavy 3 days of proper AF type blood really, really early. I've had two scans since then but still can't shake the feeling the bleeding must mean something isn't right.
I'm on holiday at the moment which is helping keep me distracted but I guess we can't just book a flight every time our minds wander!
Before we came away, when waiting for scans I literally just tried to keep things a day at a time and be grateful for every day I'm still pregnant. Have you told many people? We only told my immediate family which makes it easier to push to the back of your mind as can't talk about in most settings- I've almost forgotten a lot of the time except for remembering progesterone and pregnancy vitamins!
I hope you find some nice things to do to keep your mind occupied. Xx

I’m sorry to hear that @Onthedouble123, such stress but I’m so glad scan showed everything to be grand ❤

it’s funny isn’t it because bleeding in early pregnancy can be so - don’t want to say normal but par of the course for some (so many people I know had instances of bleeding) and yet everything in us tells us something is wrong and we panic and assume bad news.

when is your 12 week scan?

so weird that you should say as we are also currently on holiday and really enjoying it but home time which is the 4th still seems so far away.

going to look up baby names in a bid to be positive :)

Lulub94 · 27/07/2024 19:23

Hi, hope everyone is doing ok.

I’ve been for a scan today and thought I was 6+4 but scan is showing 5+2. Baby has a heartbeat though and everything else is looking as it should.

Trying not to worry about the measurements as from reading online can see that measurements at early scans can be inaccurate. But also I am worrying 🙈

I’ve registered with the midwife but haven’t spoken to them yet, hoping they will call next week and I can talk things through with them too.

Balloffluff123 · 27/07/2024 20:06

Hi all! So I have had some spotting today 🙁. I never had anything like that in my previous pregnancy. What do I do? I don’t think the EPU is open over the weekend so do I just wait until Monday and call the GP?

Onthedouble123 · 27/07/2024 20:43

@HappyGoLucky31 , I don't have a date yet- unless a letter is waiting for me when I get home. My EDD is 3.3.25 so hopefully not too long a wait by the time we are back from holiday.
@Lulub94 easier said than done but try not to worry about the size/dates. I had a scan at what I thought was 6+ weeks and Dr was adamant I was only 5+3 and must have ovulated late. I then got rescanned 2 weeks later and was measuring at 8+1. It's really not exact at that stage. A little flickering heartbeat is definitely a good sign!

If in doubt maybe call 111 (or use their online service?) and see what they recommend. You might get to speak to a GP over the weekend for advice?

Thank you, this is good to know. I’ve bought a couple more tests so hopefully in the next couple of days it will turn to 3+ and I can stop testing. Hope you’re progresses to 2-3 soon (if you’re still testing)! I know people always say continuing to test makes you more anxious but my obsessive personality can’t help it 🤦🏻‍♀️

FYI @Balloffluff123 for bleeding in pregnancy 111 will almost certainly get you to go to A&E, where you'll either be scanned or get booked to be scanned on Monday. Not disagreeing that it's good to call 111 (I'm a huge fan of 111) but having been around this a couple of times, I know that's what they do. :)

Sorry to hear you're spotting, it's very stressful but as a pp said, it's common if not "normal". The majority of pregnancies with spotting are completely fine. There's some chat about it upthread I think but iirc the statistic is that 12% of pregnancies with bleeding end in miscarriage, which means 88% continue!

Boymum3722 · 28/07/2024 07:17

Hi everyone,
I’m going to be leaving this thread now. Unfortunately my clearblue weeks indicator not increasing was a bad sign for me and I’m now losing the pregnancy. I have a wedding today in a foreign country which is awful - I don’t know how I’ll get through it 😣
I wish you all the best of Iuck and love with your pregnancies and babies 🙏🏼
