Congratulations to everyone that has just joined 🥰! Double congrats to @SharingEasesWorries WOW what a turn of events!! How exciting! How are you feeling now?

SharingEasesWorries · 25/07/2024 22:32

Hello!!!! Thanks a lot for all the kind responses. Indeed interesting turn of events. Life changing rather. I already have a 5 year old sleeping just beside me at the moment. I am very emotional suddenly for him. Feel like unknowingly with this new development he might get neglected for sometime. But ll try not to do that and include him in the team.

@llamabeans oh wowwww that's soooo cool. were they your first? when did you discover about having twins? Did you always know they would be identical twins?
In my case, she tried to look for some kind of division membrane but couldn't find at this point. She marked me little below 6 weeks. However is it still possible that later in the weeks there will be two gestational sacs? However we all saw two blobs blinking on two sides 😄

So so overwhelmed with so many mixed feelings and emotions

CatmumTTC · 26/07/2024 07:50

Hi all, I took another digital test today, hoping to see some progression from the 1-2 weeks it showed last Saturday. But it's still showing 1-2 weeks and now I'm worried. I should be 17DPO today. I thought testing would be good to put my mind at ease but I regret it now!

Husband has a brilliant mathematics brain and has looked at the accuracy ranges etc for the 2-3 week range, apparently it's the hardest one to predict. So there's still some hope. But I've had such bad general anxiety this past couple of days so now I'm anxious about this instead!

llamabeans · 26/07/2024 11:31

@SharingEasesWorries The twins were babies 2+3. We discovered them at a private scan around 9 weeks. I remember thinking I had seen two blobs but then the sonographer went very quiet for a minute until she said, "I have some news... there's two of them!" Fortunately my (then) 3.5 year old broke the silence by saying, "oh my goodness, two twin babies!" otherwise there would have maybe been a few much shorter words from me and DH!! I still don't quite believe there's two of them sometimes! At the private scan the sonographer said she didn't know what type of twins they were, but it was confirmed at 12 weeks that they were MCDA (monochorionic, diamniotic) which means one placenta, two sacs, at which point I was referred to fetal medicine. I had a bit of a complicated pregnancy and they were born at 33 weeks but, like I said, are now two very normal two year olds. The only thing more fun than one toddler is two toddlers!

It is certainly something that takes a while to get used to; my first thought was all the practicalities like how we'd fit them in the car! But it really is something quite special to have twins and I couldn't imagine my life without them now!

In other news... I am 5 weeks today and off for a blood test as my first born very kindly started off the school holidays with slapped cheek syndrome! I don't even have my booking appointment booked yet but the midwives were very keen to see me asap to get the test done.

Out of interest - is anyone here breastfeeding their baby/toddler/toddler/child? How are you feeling about it currently? Any plans to wean?

I have a 21 month old, I'd love to get to 2 years breastfeeding if I can and if my LO wants to continue (and all signs point to this). No aversions yet but suspect it may happen. I'm feeling a bit sad it may come to an end sooner than my LO would want. Wondering how it would feel potentially dry nursing or nursing with a huge bump, or tandem feeding and feeling a bit daunted!

Melusina123 · 26/07/2024 14:51

Random complaint but my boobs have got absolutely huge. Before kid 1 they were at 30G (not small, and I really would like a breast reduction) and while I was breastfeeding they peaked at 30K which honestly is not a size that most brands even bother to make, even the size inclusive ones. I had to go up a band size to even get nursing bras.

To my immense relief they went back to a 30G after I stopped breastfeeding (still impractically huge on my frame, but at least a size some brands carry). They've now inflated again already 😭😭😭, I think I must be pushing back around the 30J mark already!! I hate it.

Yes meeeeee! I have a 15mth old and like you I would love to nurse until 2 but not sure if it will happen which is sad. I will keep doing as long as I make milk but idk what happens later in pregnancy when you start to make colostrum 🤔? I would like to try tandem nursing if it is at all possible but I’m guessing this would involve a break in nursing for the colostrum phase? I didn’t know dry nursing was a thing but I don’t think it is for me 😬.

Hi everyone, I've not been very active on here as I'm just in the trenches of 24/7 nausea. Today I've had old brown blood when wiping on two separate occasions. Rang the EPU and they've said I can go in on Monday morning for a scan. As much as it's old blood, I'm estimated 10 weeks now so it's far too late for implantation surely?
EPU didn't make me feel any better with their advice to call back if the bleeding gets heavier than a period or if 4 paracetamol in 24 hours doesn't help with any pain (I don't have any pains yet)

InvisibleDragon · 26/07/2024 17:58

Me today: omg, I don't feel pregnant at all, what if something has gone wrong??

Also me: dissolves in a weepy heap because my toddler said he wanted me to go back to work.

ninaballerina12 · 26/07/2024 19:47

@sirensong I’ve only just seen your post. I am so sorry to hear this, the waiting is torturous only to be told it’s not good news. I am just so sorry this is happening to you and hope you can find the strength to get through this really tough time.

PlumpHobbit · 26/07/2024 19:48

Is it normal to have no appetite? I feel like I'm in a viscous circle, don't want to eat due to feeling sick, but feel sick because I'm not eating

Went to see Deadpool with DH earlier (his choice not mine!) And actually ended up napping during it 😲 (film was awful so didn't miss anything but I've never fallen asleep in the cinema as it's so blaring loud)

ninaballerina12 · 26/07/2024 19:50

@ChristmasJumpers I am sorry to hear you’re going through this. The same brown spotting happened to me last Saturday when I would have been almost 8 weeks. If it’s any reassurance, I had a scan on Monday and everything is fine. I am on progesterone now and had no more spotting, not sure if it’s the hormones or if it would have stopped naturally.

It’s so alarming and worrying to see but I am sure you will be absolutely fine and hope you have a busy weekend to keep you distracted! Let us know how you get on x

I’ve been feeling a bit like that. Last time I had horrific sickness (the doctor called it HG as it was so bad but I thought that came back every pregnancy??) so I’m not that bad this time (yet!) but I feel nauseous all the time and feel starving but the minute there’s a plate of food in front of me, I can barely make a dent 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yep still breastfeeding my 16 month old.
She only feeds once before bed now so we'll see what she does.

When i was pregnant with her my daughter was still breastfeeding and stopped a month before her second birthday when I was about 4ish months.

@sirensong I am so sorry. I've been through a MMC before, it is the most horrible feeling and experience. Just know it is never a reflection on you, as much as we want to blame ourselves, sometimes fate just has other ideas and it is out of our hands. Sending you all my love, please stay strong.

sirensong · 26/07/2024 20:04

Thank you @ninaballerina12 @bouncingblob and everyone else for your kind wishes ❤️

I'm finding the prospect of lasting two more weeks on the slimmest offchance too much to bear so may call EPU to see if earlier management is possible. Feeling pregnant - nauseous etc - but doomed is devastating.

Hey, I'm still breastfeeding my 4 year old. No plans to wean at the moment but with my hormones it's making me want to feed less so we just do bedtime and in the morning. I'm thinking my milk may dry up but who knows! I'm 8+3 xx

Generally brown blood is okay. I have a subchronic haematoma in my womb which may produce brown blood (hasn't yet) but the same happened with my son. The sonographer told me the implantation is quite forceful and the bleeding can stay there for a while, usually gets absorbed or bled out. I'm on blood thinners so that's why mine is quite big. Thinking of you hoping all is well xx

I had HG in my last pregnancy!! This time I'm on antisickness since the positive test and only been sick once. It's worth getting preventative antisickness xx

That’s a good idea, maybe I should look into that.. be more proactive 😅

Trust me it's helped so much. I started on Cyclizine and b6 then was sick so am now on Metaclopramide and b6 plus promethazine at night. I'm 8+3 and only been sick once and only having some nausea in the evenings. By 8 weeks with my son I was in hospital because I was so unwell and couldn't stop vomiting xx
