@sirensong i hope your scan goes ok

@Boymum3722 will doing the test make you more or less anxious? If you hadn't done the other tests would you be worried? I would be inclined to wait, do you think you could remove the test from your handbag and hide it?

CatmumTTC · 25/07/2024 15:23

@Boymum3722 if you ovulated on CD20 that would put you six days behind what you'd be told based off your cycle start date. I also ovulate late so I'm still working off DPO. I then add two weeks to my DPO to get a more accurate date. Try not to worry, lines will be faint you're still in week 4. I'd try to wait a week to do another digital. I'm doing my next digital tomorrow morning, six days since I last did one and I should be 18/19DPO then so firmly in 2-3 weeks. Last digital showed 1-2 weeks.

Boymum3722 · 25/07/2024 15:56

@sirensong hope it goes well for you!

@Downtherabbithole83 yes I did a few last week and the first couple were lighter, the CBs were darker but probably not darker than the one I did yesterday.

@veggiebuns you’re right, will try and hold off 🙏🏼 travelling to a wedding tomorrow in Spain so that’ll keep me occupied!

@Superscientist most likely more anxious, especially if it still says 1-2. I think I’d still be worried if I hadn’t done them - just a horrible waiting game, isn’t it?

@CatmumTTC when you mentioned that earlier I googled LMP vs ovulation date and it said to take your ovulation date and add 38 weeks to it.. that would make me 31st March due date and yeah I think worked out -6 days on what Flo says. Thanks for your help on understanding this.

sirensong · 25/07/2024 13:44

Unlikely to be the hook effect so early. HCG needs to be really really high - over 500,000.

Edited

Thanks - I didn’t know numbers but knew that people had experienced it around 6-7 weeks so thought it was worth a mention as the dilution thing is new to me and it’s, for want of a better word, weird!

Hello guys. Little update from me. I had bad cramping on the right side since yesterday. So they sent me for an early scan. I was supposed to be nearly 5 week 5 days as per Flo app. They did a scan and only saw gestational sac and yolk sac. Fetal pole wasn't visible on the scan yet. The measured the MSF - 0.8 cm with me being just less than 5 weeks :(. The sonography said it's normal at this stage to not see as baby might be too small. Ofcourse at this point, feeling worried now. Or should I be? Had scheduled a paid early scan for next week. Wonder if I should delay it or rather just go with it to see if any progress at all. It's scheduled on Thursday. It's going to be a long weeeek for me

Hello guys. Update from this. Had an early scan today at 6 weeks. And they saw two foetal heartbeats 💓 💓 in the scan 😄☺️😊🥰. I am overwhelmed, scared, terrified and excited all at the same time.

Has this happened to anyone? They saw two yolk sacs and I think she was looking for separate of membrane but couldn't see on. So does that mean identical twins? I am soooo overwhelmed at this point and continuously reading stuff. Any sort of guidance or information would be most appreciated.

Oh wow double joy!

Melusina123 · 25/07/2024 17:14

@SharingEasesWorries wow!! Exciting! As I understand it, twins can share a placenta and/or an amniotic sac? It sounds from what you've said like they might share both so MCMA, or maybe they'll split into two amniotic sacs and be MCDA twins (i think this is much more common)? Either way sounds like they will be identical and I guess that would also tally with only seeing one embryo last scan. They've split since then?? Amazing. ❤️❤️

In the EPU waiting room for my make or break second scan to confirm the location of the pregnancy😬

Edited

Ended up being with the doctors in EPU for about two hours, which was very generous of them. First doctor called in a consultant who then called in a second consultant.

They can see a gestational sac in my uterus but devastatingly now think it's a non viable pregnancy because of its irregular shape. I have a follow up appointment in two weeks to check for a heart beat but they more or less confirmed that was a formality and they expect me to miscarry before then. Fucking bleak. Still feel very pregnant and the spotting stopped. Have to somehow just get on with things waiting to miscarry at any point over the next fortnight. Bloody hell.

Best of luck to everyone on this thread and strength to anyone else facing the worst.

RaineyNina · 25/07/2024 17:24

@sirensong I'm so sorry to hear this! I can only imagine how you must be feeling, sending all the love and take care of yourself!

Superscientist · 25/07/2024 17:25

Oh I am so sorry @sirensong
Do you have much support over the next few weeks?
Stay busy, any emotions are normal emotions and being kind to yourself.
Hoping very much that the worst doesn't happen. Leaving love

sirensong · 25/07/2024 17:32

@Superscientist my partner had already arranged to leave work early and meet me afterwards at the hospital, which was nice. Though saying that to the doctor as I was leaving was when my voice finally started to break, after spending the whole appointment holding it together. The thought of having to tell him when he'd got so excited. Sob.

Mrbay · 25/07/2024 18:01

@Boymum3722 - the weeks on the clear blue aren't accurate at all - there was a study done that states that most woman need to be at the top end of average hcg for each week period. To get a 3+ most woman were over 1200 I think. Can't remember where I found the study but a quick Google should bring it up.

@sirensong - im so sorry, everything crossed for you. I went through similar early this year and having a tiny bit of hope was the worst, I just wanted to know either way.

@SharingEasesWorries - what an exciting development!

Melusina123 · 25/07/2024 18:08

So sorry to hear it,@sirensong . Heartbroken for you. 💔

ConfusedCrab · 25/07/2024 18:10

I found out yesterday I’m pregnant. In total shock. Wasn’t planned, I’m 42 next month! I have 4 children 23, 21, 18 and 4 and I’m a grandma!! 🫣
I have type 2 diabetes so will have to go on insulin which I’m worried about.
Unsure of the terminology used here but from first day of last period takes me to around 5 weeks.
Was going to book a private scan but unsure when is best? I’ll get in touch with the dr as I’ve read I’ll need 5mg folic acid on prescription because of the diabetes.
In total shock and scared, it doesn’t feel real yet!

Balloffluff123 · 25/07/2024 20:16

Really sorry to hear this @sirensong. I hope the next two weeks go quickly and like someone else said I hope the worst doesn’t happen. xx

My nan was in your position, the surprise number 5 is now 40 and she has been very loved. Her role has always been blurred she has been my auntie, my sister and my cousin. My dad the eldest of the 5 (21 when she was born) has been the big brother, dad and uncle to her. My grandparents have now passed and 4 of the 5 are very close. One has a toxic wife and is another story. Their aunt's and uncles were younger than my nan so had there kids at a similar time as her youngest. It has been lovely growing up in a family with blended generations. My auntie is 5 years older than me and 2 years younger than my sister

Making a reappearance on this thread as I've just been laying low and trying to stay positive since my tests, but was feeling suspiciously well and obviously rather than enjoying that have been second guessing it that it must mean something is wrong...

But had a private scan today and delighted that everything was looking exactly as it should be! Dated 8+1 with a due date of 5 March.
LMP was putting me at about 9 weeks, but I've longer cycles and hadn't tracked ovulation behind the guess Flo app makes, so already suspected I'd be behind and so not phased by this at all, and neither was my sonographer. Only annoying that I've gained an additional week of waiting/opportunity to still end up feeling crappy!

Now back to crossing everything while I wait for 12 week scan......

Boymum3722 · 25/07/2024 21:29

@sirensong im so sorry to hear that 😓😓😓 i hope you are taking care of yourself xx

I had identical twins last time round so happy to answer any questions or tell you all about my experience! They are now two and a half and are very cheeky little monkeys!
