Hi all, i'll be 5 weeks this weekend - due date around 22 March.

Since I tested positive 10 dpo last week, I've felt like I have pulled a muscle in my lower abdomen after 1000 sit ups or something and am having intermittent cramps/ stinging aches, sometimes centrally sometimes focused on the left side I know I ovulated from. Are others having pelvic pains like this? I realise some will be normal but don't know how common/ at what point it's a sign of a problem. No actual blood.

PregnantNowScrewed · 18/07/2024 13:18

Yes @Superscientist I know it’s super common. My previous losses were all caused by immune issues which are now treated so I had naively expected this one to be fine, forgetting that it is obviously possible to have a “normal” miscarriage as well, where the egg or sperm is just a bit dodge!

Fortunately I conceived this one on first attempt so feeling hopeful that despite my age (37) we will get there. And obviously feeling very grateful for my 2 lovely children. I will probably bow out of this thread now but wishing everyone very successful pregnancies!

My cousin had the same. I think she still has a couple of miscarriages after starting treatment but she does have two children now. She got pregnant easily but struggled with staying pregnant. In addition to the auto immune issue she her uterus wasn't the normal shape and if the embryo implanted into the wrong bit it didn't take. Sometimes when you think of it is, it's a wonder any babies are born!

I was tested for APS prior to ttc my daughter as they thought my dad had it for a while by he has since been undiagnosed with it.

Cariad90 · 18/07/2024 13:49

Hi everyone, can I join? Tested positive at 10 dpo and currently 12dpo, so still very early. Had two MMC before my daughter was born so trying not to get my hopes up too soon. Feeling a bit nauseous but that’s it so far

Confusssed1 · 18/07/2024 14:59

Hi everyone! I thought I was 8 or 9 weeks but turns out I'm 6+6 today due to irregular periods/breastfeeding so due in March not Feb. Saw a lovely little heartbeat today after a couple miscarriages between baby no1 and now so very pleased.

Joleyjojo · 18/07/2024 16:34

Hi everyone. Lots of BFP which is amazing.

I am officially stepping away from the tests ! They have been spot on to the day for me.

Hope everyone is feeling ok, or coping. I don’t have any symptoms to write home about at all. Xxx

Hello guys. Little update from me. I had bad cramping on the right side since yesterday. So they sent me for an early scan. I was supposed to be nearly 5 week 5 days as per Flo app. They did a scan and only saw gestational sac and yolk sac. Fetal pole wasn't visible on the scan yet. The measured the MSF - 0.8 cm with me being just less than 5 weeks :(. The sonography said it's normal at this stage to not see as baby might be too small. Ofcourse at this point, feeling worried now. Or should I be? Had scheduled a paid early scan for next week. Wonder if I should delay it or rather just go with it to see if any progress at all. It's scheduled on Thursday. It's going to be a long weeeek for me

maybe you ovulated late ? I had this happen to me about 3 years ago and went back a week later and the heartbeat was there all was well his a happy bouncing 3 year old but I understand how stressful it is I would go to the private scan that’s about a week away and babies grow at a super fast rate at this stage

SharingEasesWorries · 18/07/2024 18:15

sorry typo above ^^ MSD* (Mean Sac Diameter) - 0.8 centimetres

just checked on few other apps (baby centre, what to expect, ovia and pregnancy +) and they all say I am 5 weeks 2 days.. a bit confused now.. and . has anybody had this experience? my LMP was on 9th June..with about 30-31 days cycle.. I thought Flo was being accurate.. just hoping to have some positive news in next week.. or two. 🙏

thank you so much for your reply. definitely reassuring.. I am just hoping that's what it is for me 🙏

Hey all

Sorry to read that scans haven't been what you are expecting, sometimes I do wonder if there is any benefit to them before 8-weeks? As measurements can be so far out.

Sorry cannot remember the poster's name with the line progression - hcg roughly doubles every 24 to 72 hrs so your progression looks good.

I had my scan this morning by a lovely midwife that was training, so took a little longer than normal to get to the detail. Both my ovaries ovulated last month 😬 currently there is one pregnancy, measuring around 6-weeks (they wouldn't confirm any further, or confirm measurements) and strong fetal pole was seen. As soon as I heard double ovulation, I did start to panic a little.

Hey that is absolutely a great news. Congrats. Did they confirm the heartbeat too. However since they have strong fetal pole, it must be so reassuring.

I agree early scan definitely does add to worries. They I think wanted to rule out any non uterine pregnancy I guess given one side cramps I have been getting and hence gave me the scan.

SharingEasesWorries · 18/07/2024 19:37

@Saim86 that is lovely. Thanks a lot. 🙂

AdventuresInMothering · 18/07/2024 20:30

@sirensong I'm having a lot of cramping too (but no bleeding, only the tiniest bit of spotting). Hoping it's normal, just implantation/everything starting to grow and stretch! It's making me quite anxious though. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I don't remember this much cramping first time round!

Livingonhope · 18/07/2024 21:09

Tentatively joining after getting a positive today following etopic pregnancy in april and tube removal very scared to get excited but reassurance scan booked for 5th August and due date in March!!

sirensong · 18/07/2024 21:13

@Livingonhope congratulations! Really sorry about your previous ectopic. Do you mind me asking when your symptoms first appeared and what they first were?

no I don't mind at all! Although in short I had no symptoms at all It was pure luck/bad luck I went for a scan and it was picked up!!

Melusina123 · 19/07/2024 10:52

Had an early scan at EPAU today. By dates I'm 8+3, by my reckoning of when I ovulated 7+3 and by the scan 7+0. Heartbeat seen and nurse not at all concerned... but they have offered me another scan in two weeks. So a bit concerned, maybe...

So idk how to feel about it all, it is definitely more "reassuring" when you're measuring ahead at these early scans...

Mrbay · 19/07/2024 11:27

@SharingEasesWorries - thank you. Yeah that did confirm a heartbeat 🙂
Did they confirm the pregnancy was in the correct place?

@AdventuresInMothering - I've had a bit of cramping but very mild.

@Melusina123 - that's great news! It can take a few days for the egg and sperm to find each other and then implant.

I'm currently at work, hiding as my sickness is here with bells on!

HRHXO · 19/07/2024 13:58

Did anyone else find that with their second pregnancy that symptoms showed sooner? I found out super early with BFP at 8dpo (pm) and now I'm 11dpo and I feel crampy, lower back ache, sometimes boobs feel a bit sore too. I remember feeling cramps around 5 weeks in my first pregnancy but I can't really remember now!

SprinGarden · 19/07/2024 14:34

Heya all... Those of you having 7/8week scans on epu, did you just request it? Or does it need to be specific circumstances please?

me too I think it’s because the more babies you have the more you know about your body and what to expect IMO

I found something on my EPAU's website that said they would do a scan around 7 weeks if you have "a history of miscarriage", so I self-referred. EPAUs seem to vary a lot in how willing they are to do early scans but in general it tends to be triggered by either something adverse in the current pregnancy (bleeding, cramping) or some kind of history of pregnancy loss. In a previous pregnancy I had bleeding so went to A&E and they referred me to EPAU for a scan. However there's no harm in ringing your local EPAU and asking.

@HRHXO I'd say symptoms have been a smidge later/lighter this time for me, which I think is unusual and tbh I am a bit unsettled by it. Just repeating the "every pregnancy is different" mantra to myself.

My lines looked noticeably darker today but the amount of spotting has increased and I have left focused cramps so I've come to an EPU walk in for a scan. UCLH in case anyone London based finds themselves needing reassurance fast.
