I can barely believe I’m posting this but I just this minute got my BFP!! We’ve been ttc #2 for well over two years (we have a toddler already, it took over 18 months to get pregnant with him!) and I just can’t really believe it. I was puking constantly from 4 weeks last time but I’ve not really felt anything this time. I feel suspicious 🤣 I don’t actually know how far along I am as I have incredibly irregular periods, I think I should be between 4 and 6 weeks but I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️

26dX · 10/07/2024 15:14

@msbrightside2 I'm feeling fine at the minute just waiting for an early scan 7 weeks on the 26th July! Oh that's fab you got to see little bub 🥰

@Muffin101 ahhh amazing congrats!! Xx

Superscientist · 10/07/2024 16:44

Congratulations @Muffin101 fingers crossed for you.

My sickness has started to increase but thankfully it's a few hours a day and I'm able to eat in between. The only annoyance is it hitting at random times. Yesterday I was fine until dinner. Today breakfast was the issue.

One of my colleagues has guessed after seeing me being sick another may also know after my midwife phoned and opened the conversation by saying quite loudly "congratulations on your pregnancy" before I managed to step out of the office 🤦🏼‍♀️
My booking appointment in next Thursday and she has already emailed me my exception certificate

ChristmasJumpers · 10/07/2024 16:46

I am completely down and out 🤢 exhausted, still constantly nauseous and now with added guilt as my DH is having to look after me, DD and his full time job. I've signed myself off sick and am just in bed all day

I'm sorry it's so rubbish. Have they offered you any other antiemetics?

Letting yourself be looked after is a difficult skill! You know you have a good'un when they step in and don't complain. Don't feel guilty even with everything he has to do you are still having a worse day than him! He will cope!

26dX · 10/07/2024 14:21

How's everyone getting on? 🥰

I fell asleep on the sofa whilst my toddler napped this lunchtime (usually 12-2pm). Woke with a huge shock at 3.30pm - had just slept through, and so had my little boy! Feeling exhausted so clearly needed it though. I hate this phase where you haven't yet had a scan for reassurance but you can't feel kicks/wriggles for reassurance either!

I'm not bothering to ask for something else as I had to basically refuse to leave the GP last time unless he prescribed me cyclizine - all while he told me i was putting my baby at risk 😢. I have my booking in appointment in 10 days so I'll persevere until I can ask the midwife.

He is a good one, no complaints at all, I'm very lucky.

SummerSun24 · 10/07/2024 17:23

I feel exactly the same @TTC1990 that I'm wishing the time away when it should be exciting and when I should be soaking up time with DC1!

@26dX good so far! Sensitive nipples and crazy sense of smell so far plus bloattttt for days. Guts not been normal for a bit either 😂 was sick every day for 15 week with DC1 so waiting for that megga fatigue to kick in. Desperately eating everything in sight while I can haha.

@ChristmasJumpers so sorry to hear your having such a hard time. I know it's hard to thinking of getting through months of this but you got this and a beautiful little small person at the end 🥰

VLT36 · 10/07/2024 17:27

Congratulations to all the newbies! Wishing you all a healthy 9 months! I've booked an early scan for Sunday where I will be 6+5 so hopefully will be able to see a heartbeat! I did at the same time with my previous pregnancies. Will then refer to midwives if everything is looking okay. Still not feeling massively pregnant though, nausea occasionally and mild sore boobs but otherwise I'm feeling OK.

SharingEasesWorries · 10/07/2024 18:09

Hello everyone! I wanted to join this thread because today I've been feeling incredibly anxious. :( Reading through this discussion has been comforting, knowing that many of you are on the same journey.

I'm currently 4 weeks and 3 days along and got my BFP on July 5th. Since then, I haven't stopped testing. I officially missed my period today, which was due yesterday, and I'm really hoping I won't see it for the next 1-1.5 years! This is my second pregnancy; I was pregnant once before in 2018 and result of that one is my nearly 6-year-old toddler (boy) running around. I think my due date as per my cycles and last period is coming out to be 18th March 2025.

I've been feeling very anxious because of reading many unfortunate stories, and I'm trying hard to stay positive. I didn't realise that it would be this stressful the second time around.😅

How is everyone else doing? Anyone doing any early scans? Wishing you all a happy and healthy next 9 months! :)

ninaballerina12 · 10/07/2024 18:37

@26dX I am 6+4 today and given my last MC had an early scan at EPU today - we saw a little heartbeat which was amazing after everything.

I am really struggling with the nausea as it’s 24/7 - I am managing to eat luckily but only very plain foods. This definitely feels like a design flaw of pregnancy!

How are you feeling?

@msbrightside2 congrats on your scan and so sorry to hear you had an ectopic, that must have been so tough but made it feel even sweeter seeing that heartbeat today! 🩷

ninaballerina12 · 10/07/2024 18:41

@ChristmasJumpers i feel you, I could’ve wrote your post myself! It’s so tough! I’m sorry you’re going through it too.

I feel like I need to get signed off but agreed to a new internal role which starts on Monday (agreed to it a few weeks before finding out I was pregnant)! Feeling really worried about it all and not being able to handle it.

SprinGarden · 10/07/2024 19:50

Heya just seeing some of you doing early scans. When s the best week for an early scan please? Is week 7 gd? I may try and get one too as I m really anxious... Just need to see it s there and growing.

Melusina123 · 10/07/2024 20:03

@SprinGarden imo 6 is a bit early, if you're slightly off on dates there might not be a heartbeat yet, and the risk of miscarriage after 6wks is still quite high. 7wks is good, 8wks is better if you can hold out. If you see a heartbeat at 8wks odds of miscarriage go down to around 5%.

I'm sorry you're going through it too. I keep thinking I'm being too dramatic about it but then I bathed DD today and have felt absolutely awful since then from that tiny bit of exertion!
You're doing well to be working through it, I hate calling in sick, especially as my manager wants daily updates!!

Congratulations! I'll be honest I was the same! I was testing like every day until I had my epu scan today and saw a heartbeat. I'd definitely book a scan for reassurance if you can! Xx

SharingEasesWorries · 10/07/2024 22:59

It so is @Beth06 !! Anybody else having their early scan this month?

ButItHasCheese · 11/07/2024 05:22

I had an early scan at almost 6 weeks - I'm not in the U.K. so it's a bit different here... they just wanted to establish that I was pregnant, and check how many sacks there were (apparently I ovulated on both sides, so it was almost twins...)

Other than that I just want to moan about how nauseous I feel. I'm on medication which has stopped the vomiting, but I'm definitely being a miserable cow to DH and DC1 😭

TTC1990 · 11/07/2024 06:43

Morning everyone,

Just after a bit of advice. At how many days DPO, or weeks pregnant, did you all get your dye stealers? I found out at 9DPO so the line was very faint, it is getting darker but I wondered when I should expect the test line to be the same as the control? I’m now 4 weeks (12 DPO) today.

Also recommendations whether to book the early scan for 6, 7 or 8 weeks? I can only really afford to do one early one!

Thanks guys! X

Morning!! Mine started very light which was 4 days before missed period. It's been getting darker but not exactly same as control line which I am hoping should be in the next couple weeks. I am 4 week + 4 days. CB said 2-3 weeks on 9th which was the day of period.

As for the scan I have booked for 6+4 which was around same time when I was pregnant with my first one. However 7/8 weeks should be good if you are happy to wait?

SharingEasesWorries · 11/07/2024 07:18

@ButItHasCheese oh wow!! That's interesting. Did you see a heartbeat then? I guess it might be too early isn't it @6 weeks. Oh dear really hope your nausea eases soon

I had a private scan over the weekend at what I thought was 7/8 weeks, but because of my long cycles, it turned out I was only 6+2 weeks along. We saw a strong heartbeat but the sonographer did say had we gone in a couple of days sooner it might have been too early. I'd go for 7 weeks to be sure, just in case you're not as far as you think
