BFP after recent loss

Hello!

I know there are quite a few threads like this, but thought I’d start a new one for those of us going through this just now 🙂

I found out about my MMC at what should have been 7.5 weeks (no growth since 5). Had to have a D&C as my body wouldn’t let go. That was back in mid-April.

I’ve had one period since then and it now looks like I’m pregnant again! Can’t believe we’ve been so luckily to fall again so quickly.

Got a vfl yesterday at 10dpo and the line is a bit darker today at 11dpo. Pic attached has 11dpo at the top and 10dpo bottom. What a shock when I saw that line!

Anyway, I’m already feeling nervous about everything so I thought I’d make a space for people in a similar position to join. Maybe we can help to calm each others’ nerves a bit 💜

I’m now 5w5d, feel like it’s been that forever!😫 I’m not having a scan until 12 weeks which is making the wait even longer. It’s probably silly but I only want to do TA scans as when I had my TV scan (during MC) I’d stopped bleeding completely for 2 days but after the scan it started gushing again so I’ve got it in my head that I don’t wanna go prodding around in there and risk anything. Probably mad but yeah I’ve decided to just make myself wait til 12 weeks….

I assume things are progressing though because I threw up yesterday (yay progress but boo being sick😭🤢). Also been feeling sick everyday 7-8am, 4pm and 11-12pm and they say every 8 hours means things are good sooo🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks ladies, I’m 6+6 today. Thing is I had a perfect scan at 6+6 with my MMC and we all know how that turned out 🙄 so I don’t feel like I’ll be totally reassured anyway! I’m definitely going to book a private scan at around 9.5 weeks and then maybe I can get excited.

@Mommabear96 I seriously take my hat off to you for waiting til 12 weeks, I couldn’t do it! I’ve always got to have early scans though because my first pregnancy was ectopic so I guess I don’t know any different. Hope your sickness eases soon for you, that sounds tough

@Mommabear96 I didn't get a scan until 12 weeks in both last pregnancies. The last one though that ended in MMC I felt almost silly etc that I'd been walking around thinking I was pregnant and that baby had died 4 weeks before that. I know it sounds a bit strange but it really knocked me for six so I think I'll get a private one between 8-9 weeks. I'm sure everything will be ok for you this time x

I keep having scanxiety dreams. Dreamt last night I was having a tummy scan and I kept telling the lady I was too early to see anything that way but she wouldn’t listen and all I could see on the screen was black 😖

My easy at home still look quite similar from 2 days ago 😢 I took another one of the 25miu cheap strip tests and there's quite a difference from two days ago. Should be 4 weeks today, this is going to drag in isn't it.

I woke up this morning all symptoms gone, even my bloated belly is flat, and am worried something is wrong. Just had a little cry this morning. I had a mild fever the night before (I need to test for COVID as my throat is killing me) as well, hope that didn't cause any issues. Struggling a bit this morning.

@Lemonbalm8 please don't worry too much. Symptoms fluctuate so much, you'll probably find that later on today your symptoms come back. 😘

Hi ladies, good news from this end 🥰
Little one has grown and has a heartbeat 🥰 they’re measuring 6+3 so a few days behind but they don’t seem worried, they said anything within a week either side is fine.
The black area in the top right is apparently a pocket of bleeding so told me not to be concerned if it comes away. They enclosed a ‘threatened miscarriage’ leaflet which made me feel very concerned..!!!
I think the EPU nurse could sense my anxiety so she has booked me a reassurance scan for 3 weeks time. Was not expecting that so I’m really grateful, she was so lovely

Thank you. In this pregnancy, I have really few symptoms, I have like a really intense day of symptoms followed by a week of nothing. It's really unnerving, but I suppose I have to trust my body as nothing has indicated otherwise. To go from quite bad nausea one day to nothing the next is very scary. With my son, I had 1 week of symptoms followed by 1 week of very mild symptoms and they alternated. I guess everyone has different experiences. I just hope the fever didn't cause any issues.

It's great they could see everything was ok.
Have you had any spotting at all, sorry I can't remember as most of us have spotted including myself? I didn't have my doctor mention that, but she also couldn't see anything on the scan to suggest where it might be coming from. I think it's great that they could locate where it could come from, at least you know the reason! I wouldn't worry at all, if they weren't, they were probably just saying that term to inform you that they found a place the spotting could come from.

I did have spotting for about 5 days in the 4th week but that’s it, nothing since. I’m relieved they were thorough enough to tell me about it because I’d have been catastrophising otherwise!

@MrsB2019x oh this is such good news to hear! And really good that they were able to spot the pocket of bleeding so hopefully if you have any spotting it won't be as scary for you.

Can totally see why the threatened miscarriage leaflet would be scary. It must be protocol for them to include something like that, but you'd think they might have thought twice about giving you it since they seem really happy with the scan.

So cool that you can see your little bean on the scan! 💜

Forgot to mention on my previous post EPU have put me on progesterone now, is anyone else on it?
I think it’s just precautionary because of my previous loss but I’ll take anything to help secure this pregnancy at this point!

@purplecolouroffunk Thank you 🥰 Yeah the leaflet was enclosed in the envelope with my scan picture, they mentioned nothing about it! 😬

@jellyfish2 your latest test is looking great! It's what mine looked like at around 4 weeks too 💜

@Lemonbalm8 I feel you on the symptoms. The only thing that is pretty constant for me is sore boobs, and other than that I really don't feel like I'm pregnant at all (apart from some tiredness). Some days I get slight nausea and other days I just don't at all. I'm trying to keep reminding myself that symptoms don't seem to be related to either successful or unsuccessful pregnancies, so trying not to worry about it too much.

@MrsB2019x I'd definitely be reassured if they didn't mention anything about. I think if there was anything sinister they definitely would have spoken to you about it. Scary to just whack that in there though!!

I totally understand not wanting to go for a scan til 12 weeks. I'd considered the same at one point just because I wanted definitive news. Then I realised that if I was going to have another MMC I'd rather find out early. So we've booked a private scan for 8 weeks.

If you think waiting til 12 weeks is likely to cause you less anxiety than a TV scan, then it sounds like the right option for you 💜 Although saying that I do think TV scans are very safe. Totally understand the hesitation because of last time though.

@purplecolouroffunk thanks that's reassuring. Those easy at home tests are annoying as they haven't got much darker over last few days.

Yes I have also been spotting but they couldn't find anything in the scan to suggest, so I'm assuming it was just breakthrough bleeding around when I'm supposed to get my period. I am annoyed they left you that leaflet, very much out of place! Hope you can relax for a bit.
