Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

@TripleESept24 I sneezed and dribbled a little wee the other day! I'm hoping it's pressure of babies head down there and that it won't happen when she's here! Luckily I'd got a daily liner in. Also very high sex drive here too.

@Emmaev I had this last week and also googled which got me to the mucus plug answer too. It went after a few wipes and baby was moving fine so I left it. Have just had sex this evening so will see if it happens again.

Babyplease23 · 07/07/2024 20:14

@Emmaev I had this about a week ago! Like you I inspect the tissue every time I wipe otherwise probably wouldn't have noticed it haha. I kept an eye on it and have been fine since so I'm assuming it's normal?!

Emmaev · 07/07/2024 20:23

@MudandMoet @Babyplease23
im assuming it’s normal, I mean if you’re going at it , surely it’s gonna dislodge something haha. It happened a couple days ago now and theres not been any sign since

SpicyMoth · 07/07/2024 21:37

Babyplease23 · 07/07/2024 19:06

@SpicyMoth I suspect I have this too 😢 I've been so conscious when sitting up etc, not to use ab muscles but I've got a very prominent pointy cone shape when tensing. I've ordered a post partum belly band which is supposed to help (although this is my first pregnancy so who knows..) not sure what else can be done for it though. Already dreading seeing what state my body will be in post partum 😢

I've heard belly bands help too, but like you this is my first so I have absolutely no idea if they actually work and if they're worth getting, or if it's yet another marketing thing to squeeze as much money out of pregnant women as possible!

From my research this evening apparently moisturising isn't even supposed to stop or help stretch marks appearance wise, but just help the itchiness from stretching in general? - I feel both conned and naïve >.<

malimoon · 07/07/2024 21:43

@SpicyMoth yeah from what I've heard stretch marks are kind of, you will get them or you won't and it's mostly genetic. But still nice to moisturise the bump and do a bit of self care!

tryingfortwo2 · 07/07/2024 21:54

@SpicyMoth I had the coning pretty severely the first time round, you can have coning without diastasis recti, which was what happened to me. You wouldn’t have believed it wasn’t DR if you had seen the toblerone triangle sticking out of my tummy but doctor, midwife and physio all agreed no DR, normal 2cm gap, and everything returned to normal after birth.

I was maybe just lucky, but just wanted to say that coning doesn’t 100% mean disaster! I would just mention it at your next appointment 🤞🏻x

TripleESept24 · 07/07/2024 22:12

Nice to see others have the high sex drive too!! 🙈😂

I haven't had any discharge or anything that sounds like that though!!

Told my other half we are going to keep at it now especially around the due date!! It made me go into labour 20 years ago with my daughter 🤣

cd24x · 07/07/2024 22:25

@Lillers just wanted to say I completely understand and empathise! It's so bloody hard. DH and I had a weekend away to Bath and I felt like I had to be on top of everything GD wise - making the right restaurant choices, ensuring that I could be somewhere to do bloods an hour after eating, planning everything around timing of food so glucose levels didn't spike, carrying round snacks constantly. It's added so much to the mental load that I feel like I can't enjoy the day to day sometimes. I saw you posted on the GD FB group and good to know there is so much support there too. Give me a shout if you ever want to vent. And I hope the brownies were good! Xx

Lillers · 07/07/2024 22:32

@cd24x The mental load is so real, and probably the worst thing about it. My brain just never switches off from thinking about GD, whether it’s meal planning, thinking about snacks, working out what food to take to work, thinking about the timing of food and testing… I can’t believe we’re managing this on top of just being pregnant! I hope you still managed to enjoy some of your weekend. I’m also here if you ever feel you need a rant.

Lillers · 08/07/2024 06:40

Morning everyone!
After several people had a pretty crappy weekend, I’m starting Monday off with a reminder of what we’re all here for: bump photo! Me this morning at 28+5.

bump coming to you from a nearly finished nursery…. 🫣 starting to feel like I need to have ducks in a row if I’m going to be c section and earlier due to placenta previa! But 🤞🏻 I’ll have my answer in 2 weeks and as long as some clothes are washed It’ll be fine!
I am 29+5

Love the bumpdates this morning girls 🫶🏼 here’s mine at 30+5! Not sure the tight maternity top is doing much to minimise how large I feel lol

PoppingUp · 08/07/2024 08:49

Lovely bumps all! I'm now at the stage where I get random people on the street asking when i'm due, but I think that's from the huffing and puffing and sighing that I'm constantly doing rather than the size of the bump itself 😂

I'm at my (delayed because of holidays) blood glucose test this morning. At least it's a nice sunny day so I'm sat outside for my wait but my gosh I can't wait to down a nice big cold glass of water in a couple of hours!

WinsandSam · 08/07/2024 09:12

Lovely bump pictures!
29 weeks today... and I'm going to be having her at 39 weeks, so only 10 to go 😬😳

Honeyandsunshine1 · 08/07/2024 10:55

Sorry to read your post the other day @WinsandSam 🩷 (I’m only just catching up). How you feeling today?

Anyone else here have in-law troubles or is it just me? 🙃🙃🙃 We’ve been having issues for around 4 years and I try so hard to remain neutral and peaceful for the sake of my kids as they love spending time with them, but Christ they make it hard. Unsolicited advice about our parenting choices, never EVER apologising when we bring up a small grievance, in fact my MIL just ignores any texts where my partner says “hey, that thing you did wasn’t cool” never once a “oh sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel like that”. It’s just so jarring. They have another family birthday coming up and I honestly cba to go and use the opportunity to relax whilst I’m home alone but I know it’ll just cause more drama. they would much rather pretend everything is ok and nothing ever gets sorted as they refuse to deal with the problem.

I’m too hormonal and tired for it. I hate the “fake harmony” 😂🥲

MudandMoet · 08/07/2024 10:58

😍😍 lovely pics girls!!! I am so jumping on this bump pic wagon - this was a couple of days ago at my 32 week milestone! 7 to go 🤭

MudandMoet · 08/07/2024 10:58

🙄 forgot this bit 😂

September 2024 - Thread 8!
MudandMoet · 08/07/2024 11:06

@Honeyandsunshine1 I'm not down for any 'fake harmony' either as you call it.
I don't have anything to do with anyone that doesn't bring peace to my table so my circle is damn small. I love it though because I am incredibly close with those that are in it. I literally don't tolerate any bull shit because I hate drama and pretending alls well gets tiring. My MiL is, mildly put, a handful, hence I have zero contact with the woman 🤷🏼‍♀️😬 xx

longingtobe23 · 08/07/2024 11:42

@Honeyandsunshine1 yup and sis in law added so I guess that’s included
for the most part I try to ignore them - my son is older now so it stings less, we all get on for National trusts walks and cups of tea
but I have accepted we’re lucky to have them enough and ignore the rest of the rubbish 😂☠️

sis in law got pregnant immediately after we announced and I am already anxious about the competition they’ll inevitably push on the babies so close in age and I know I need to brace myself for the comments and remarks that’ll no doubt piss me off when I am PP, mama bear mode 🙈😳

WinsandSam · 08/07/2024 13:09

@Honeyandsunshine1 thanks, definitely feeling a bit better today. No tears and just a bit flat.

I think families are bloody hard work! And more annoying when it's your partners family. Like his SIL.. 🤬 luckily the parents are lovely. Sounds equally as stressful for you too

Decaffe · 08/07/2024 13:34

Love that dress @MudandMoet, where’s it from?

Emmaev · 08/07/2024 14:58

Loving the bump pics, everyone is blossoming 🥰

Heres mine at 32 weeks exactly. We also had our growth scan today and baby girl is growing nicely currently weighing approx 4lb 3oz. So she’s already weighing more than her big sis who was born almost 2 weeks later. So very happy!

Love all the bump photos!! X

HRP1990 · 08/07/2024 17:35

Is anyone having what feelings like period pains? Not cramps, just a dull ache. Baby was breech at my 28 week midwife appointment 3 weeks ago.. assuming it’s babies feet/position? Or perhaps I’ve done too much around the house/with my toddler/at Pilates? Can’t remember if I had this with her or not! It’s not painful, it’s just there
