Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

Buggies are another thing that have me melted. I have the Silver Cross Wave and we got it for the specific purpose that it can do 2. Yet here we are with a 2yo and soon to be NB and I think I want the Out and About Double Nipper side by side. The SCW is fabulous, but an absolute horsebox its so heavy. And the adapters that come with it have the basinette at the base, with the toddler facing me at the top. To buy new adapters I think is maybe EUR200?! Trying to convince my OH we need to change to a side by side but he's not having a bar of me 😂

longingtobe23 · 06/07/2024 17:22

As I expected … baby girl is breech…. Sideways 😅 head under my ribs and legs off to the side
so the discomfort in my stomach makes total sense

she was so hard to image I was gutted - but they offered for me to come back for free next Wednesday 🤞🏻
placenta still very low on inspection too - so I guess my NHS scan at 32 weeks will say the same who knows 😂 nothing like these troubles with my first but baby is okay and that’s all that matters!

@longingtobe23 the wee face, so cute! Shite about the position and the pain.... you (and me!) still have time for them to turn. Apparently less than 3% are still breech by full term so surely they'll get the memo soon. I'm worn out doing the Spinning Babies exercises and nothing shifting at all!

SpicyMoth · 06/07/2024 17:58

@longingtobe23 what a cutie even so!
I was breech at my midwife appt 2 days ago and measuring small, then head down yesterday at a scan and measuring completely average - Hoping wee one turns for you, there's still a decent amount of time to rotate and seemingly they'll just tumble around at will anyway haha!
__

Wee update on my possible kidney stone problems, still got protein wee samples and never heard back for a kidney scan though I was supposed to get a call with an appointment the week after my trip to A&E -
Got letter in the post today telling me I had an appointment for a scan on the 2nd of July...
Letter was sent 16th of June 2nd class... Fat load of good that was then!
And ofc because it's Saturday, neither the hospital number on the letter is answering, nor is my midwife numbers :')
Then got a stern talking to off my mum for having a panic on about it all because time isn't exactly on my side re; getting this all sorted, and that sent me into a miserable spiral of tears all day.
Decided to try and repaint bedroom today to take my mind off of everything as it came out patchy even after two coats, annnnd I'm still not holding out much hope.

I'm huge, I'm tired, I'm let down, I'm sick of falling through the cracks with anything medical.
I'm also pretty sure I have a cold as my head is pounding, my throat hurt and I have an annoying occasional tickly cough.
Oh, and my partner found out this week that his mum is leaving his dad because she "doesn't want to be a carer for him" despite him giving everything to her to help her out of extreme alcoholism, staying with her through thick and thin and doing everything to make her happy to his own detriment.
It's just one thing after another over here and I. Am. DONE. With it all. 😫

@SpicyMoth @PinkWatermelon88 yes plenty of time hoping sooner just for the comfort factor I feel like I don’t fit at a dinner table because it’s all hard and long under my ribs 🤢
BBhugme helps so much in bed as I can rest on it. I am grateful for the scan it’s just made me rest I wasn’t going loopy and moaning for no reason. It really is uncomfy 😔

so so sorry they’ve been crap with dates ! So annoying they don’t send out text reminders and update the app for scans! Other than your first 12 weeks one…. This is my only moan really is having so many appointments and conflicting info across different trusts as I am out of area pregnant lady so I really feel for you as if we haven’t got enough on our minds, chasing appointments sucks!
hopeful on Monday you get an emergency appointment asap and they apologise. Also re in laws - park it for the mo. It’s you and baby priority let them sort it out and your partner albeit sad and worried probably - can find ways to manage both without you taking on the load for now 🤞🏻💕

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 06/07/2024 18:17

Oh no @SpicyMoth do you have the NHS app? For any future appts you can check on there just so you're not relying on their letters! I've had a physio appt appear on the appt and still not received the letter for it yet!

SC126 · 06/07/2024 18:17

@HRP1990 our fox 5 comes Tuesday and I have no where to put it either. I’m gonna build it up on the day and it will be folded in our kitchen I think 😂😂

@SpicyMoth that all seems so stressful bless you.

SpicyMoth · 06/07/2024 18:53

Tysm all, just venting here has helped pathetic though that probably is - My emotions are all over the place at the best of times honestly.

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I didn't even know that there was an NHS app?!!
Looking into it now, hopefully my phone isn't too poo and old and it'll actually be compatible with any luck! 🙏

I'm sure it costs the NHS money to send out letters/phone calls etc but I just figured they'd at least make sure they get to people before the appointments been and gone?!
Wasn't even expecting a letter it was meant to be a phone call!

Wouldn't be so bad, but the letter always has the guilt-trippy "Every missed appointment costs the NHS xxx amount of money" at the bottom to make you feel horrendous, but there's not exactly much to be done if the letter just... Doesn't show?

Hopefully this new government might get things moving a bit more smoothly all round with any luck x-x

Update from me: I don’t know why I’ve lost like lust for food, I never know what I want to eat and whenever I eat it feels tasteless? My hunger also seems to be delayed.
Last night was the first night I felt like pregnancy discomfort before sleep. It actually prevented me from falling asleep for about an hour and today morning I woke up so tired, I ended up sleeping in for two more hours and I’ve been on low energy all day long. I’ve literally just sat and played video games in my pajamas all day long. I can’t help but to think-is this the new me? Is this what I’m going to be like for the remainder?

@SpicyMoth
awh Im really sorry, it sounds like a lot.
I can empathise about the worries with NHS care.
My friend had her child in for a tonsillectomy in the same hospital I’m supposed to be giving birth at and they failed to provide the child with preventative antibiotics after the surgery which resulted in an infection and they also put the poor child onto a cable and didn’t give him any fluids, they also left him in the assessment unit and sent home weak and with infection en route the following morning. I am now sure I’ll request a change of hospital for giving birth after this.
Also the app changes based on trust. My area uses the badger app, some other hospitals, I know that some hospitals in London use a different app and some use nothing at all. If you’ve not been provided one maybe your area doesn’t use any.

I also never got my letter for my first scan and at the start of pregnancy they had me scheduled for a procedure I’m not allowed to have when pregnant and they ignored my request to be removed from the waiting list for this procedure. And when the day came the hospital called me just to casually remind me that I might end up paying for my care if I’m not a UK resident (even though I am, that was just a xenophobic remark because of my accent). The whole system is vile.

Also really sorry about your parents-in-law. I come from a family of alcoholics, I’m the first to break the cycle and sadly I have to say that it is proven (in terms of medical psychology theory) that alcoholics are unable to be in a devoted, loving and healthy relationship because their only meaningful relationship is with their addiction. I hope that explains the selfishness.

tryingfortwo2 · 06/07/2024 21:30

@longingtobe23 sorry to hear you’re in so much discomfort.. and I know it doesn’t help, but in case misery does love company, I’m right there with you.

My little one is head down, feet under my right ribs. The pain at the top of my bump on the right side is getting worse by the day, it’s not even in my ribs it’s lower, at the top of the bump, and feels like the layer between bump and skin is tender and stingy? Sore to touch, move, lie down, hold my wee girl 💔 I had similar pain the first time but much closer to the end.. can’t believe I’ve got 7+ (up to 9 as I was reminded today 🫠) more weeks of it.

tryingfortwo2 · 06/07/2024 21:30

@SpicyMoth that all sounds like a lot, a really stressful time. Look after yourself ♥️

rupertbear91 · 06/07/2024 21:41

@SpicyMoth sorry you have so much to deal with 😔

I just got home from an evening in mat triage with reduced movements. He did start moving a little once I was hooked up but they aren't totally happy so are arranging a scan within 48 hours to check him over. Hoping he's just in a position I can feel him less

tryingfortwo2 · 07/07/2024 09:16

@rupertbear91 sorry to hear that you’re having a bit of worry, I’m sure little man is just hiding. Hopefully you’ve had some reassuring wiggles between your post last night and now!

rupertbear91 · 07/07/2024 10:25

Thanks @tryingfortwo2 he was super quiet all night but had a bit of movement this morning so know he's still in there! Trying to patiently wait for them to ring with a scan slot to reassure us but no word yet!

TripleESept24 · 07/07/2024 15:54

Is anyone else struggling now with a weak bladder? And I mean if I am stood up and I cough a bit of wee dribbles out 😭😭😭.... Have bought some pads as that would be embarrassing at work!! Happened as I was leaving the house the other morning had to go change!!

Also.... My sex drive has ramped up!! I want sex just as much as other half now!! And last night I got on top which felt fairly easy and it felt great 🙈 I'd been a bit lazy the past few months and let him do all the work.

WinsandSam · 07/07/2024 16:32

Having a super emotional day today and have pretty much cried for about 80% of it. Anyone else struggle occasionally?

I feel really upset about this birthday I was meant to go to for my brother in law. Sister in law invited her sister and nephew who has chicken pox (obviously I didn't go and thanks to everyone who agreed.) Especially as she's a mum of two and would not have put herself in a risky situation. we've had some issues with her over past few months and I feel it's intentional. Sabotaging plans, being boasty and trying to guilt trip us. She's now even moaning to people that she has to pay £15 for my baby shower (it's being arranged by my other lovely SIL.)Maybe I'm being paranoid and hormonal who knows.

Took it out on my parter as he never said anything/requested the child didn't come/made alternative arrangements for us. So I'm the one left out and made to look bad (as per usual) He did feel bad and said he wouldn't go, but it's his brother so I encouraged it. So I've been home alone all day crying 😭

Just needed a space to vent! Sorry

WinsandSam · 07/07/2024 16:34

@TripleESept24 I think I've struggled with my bladder from very early on! Been using pads daily and tbh they often smell of wee 😭 sorry if tmi. I don't wet myself or anything, more must be leaking.

Have been doing pelvic floor exercises etc but still happens

FuppinNora · 07/07/2024 17:02

Yes weak bladder here also! Seems to be more leakage with me but have to be careful when I cough or I throw up as its a whoosh. Didn't have this in previous pregnancy- I'm hoping it clears up!

TripleESept24 · 07/07/2024 17:20

Glad I'm not the only one with the weak bladder! Mine has just come on the last few weeks!

SpicyMoth · 07/07/2024 18:18

No weak bladder here fortunately, though I do find myself needing a wee more lately in general, any time wee man moves atm I need to go for a wee ahahah :')

I think I might have fairly noticeable diastasis recti already however >.<
I noticed trying to sit up from leaning back in the back today that my tummy looked very "pointy" in the middle and I'm fairly sure it's not baby - Is there anything we can do about that or do to help minimise it? Or is it just a post-pregnancy hope and pray kinda thing?

MW and GP haven't mentioned it at all, I only know about it from MNer's, and after looking up what it's meant to look from like a PoV shot, I think I probably have it, and not a small case either! 😬

Lillers · 07/07/2024 18:20

@WinsandSam I had a ranty cry this evening. I was making GD-friendly brownies and cracked eggs everywhere and it led to me taking it out on DH (who has been amazing) about how unfair it is that I have to make all my food from scratch while everyone else can just go to the shops if they want to. Even though he is also making everything from scratch to support me.

My sister had a buffet for my niece’s birthday yesterday and made a real effort to get plenty of things I could eat, which was amazing and I was so grateful, but I hated that I had to decide when I was finished so I could time an hour to then test my blood sugars. I was so jealous of everyone else still being able to pick at the buffet 😔.

It all just feels so unfair at the minute, but I know it’s temporary and it’ll all be worth it in the end. Just right now it feels so hard.

WinsandSam · 07/07/2024 18:25

@Lillers 😭 glad it's not just me having a rough day!

@SpicyMoth I've been a bit freaked out about the same thing this week. The centre of my stomach has felt tender so I googled (unhelpful) whether that could be the cause. I also have a pointy tummy when I sit up. Not sure what you can do?!? Makes me feel a bit funny though

SpicyMoth · 07/07/2024 18:58

It's almost alien looking isn't it @WinsandSam ?! I was sure it was baby at first but now I know where he is and where he's kicking it's almost definitely not!

Was just inspecting in the mirror and I've discovered stretch marks have literally appeared overnight now too!
Just the other day I was thinking to myself;
"Wow, I'm quite shocked no stretch marks yet, I feel huge!"
Lo and behold I seem to have jinxed myself and some small deep purple lines have started to appear all around the dead centre of my tummy below my belly button!!
I thought I was doing so so well with moisturising, but I guess maybe I haven't?
Gutted!
(Edit; Pun not intended at the end there 😂😅)

OP posts:
Babyplease23 · 07/07/2024 19:06

@SpicyMoth I suspect I have this too 😢 I've been so conscious when sitting up etc, not to use ab muscles but I've got a very prominent pointy cone shape when tensing. I've ordered a post partum belly band which is supposed to help (although this is my first pregnancy so who knows..) not sure what else can be done for it though. Already dreading seeing what state my body will be in post partum 😢

Emmaev · 07/07/2024 19:57

Has anyone had jelly like discharge after sex?
I had two tiny amounts , wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t inspect my discharge whenever I wipe haha. I googled and it mentioned it being the mucus plug? Had no pain or bleeding since. Baby is still very active.

We have our 32 week growth scan tomorrow so nervous about that too. Also how am I 32 weeks madness
