Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

We had a lovely private scan yesterday and took the children. They were so happy and excited 😍.

Gorgeous pic @MrsM89!

I’m 30 weeks today and my mind is blown that I’m now counting down in single figures. Baby is super active which is quite fun, but my heartburn is also super active which is less good! We’re on holiday for a few more days but my husband is excited to get our nursery furniture ordered so it’s there when we get back, and we can start getting baby’s room set up (not that he’ll be in there for a while!). We’re also picking our pram and car seat up in a couple of weeks time. All starting to feel very real!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 05/07/2024 18:29

@MrsM89 That is such an amazing picture!

Xur · 05/07/2024 18:55

@MrsM89 little cutie pie 🥰 👼💜

longingtobe23 · 05/07/2024 19:22

I feel absolute huge tonight !? We did go out for dinner but my skin feels ruined 😬😂
I used a bump mask from boots last night and that was lovely but I feel like I cannot stretch anymore and I have 10 weeks left what the heck 🙈 hope it was a growth spurt and it’ll calm down for a week or two!

We are due date buddies then! Also 30 weeks today! We still need to buy our pram 😬 but have whittled it down to two

MudandMoet · 05/07/2024 20:13

@BeautyAndTheBump1 thank you but wow that's a huge difference! Way more than I thought. Definitely worth stocking up when I pass an Aldi at that.

Feeling heavy now here too, they've said I'm measuring slightly small but bump feels so tight and achey when I've been walking or stood a while.

Had a rescan from the other day, her face was covered by her hand 99% of the time today but the sonographer managed these few photos quickly. The one with the tongue out makes me chuckle 🤭 (32+2 weeks today)

@HRP1990 do we all get one of the red books? I've not heard it mentioned before.

@MrsM89 lovely pic of your little one. It's lovely to see them and nice to see they're filling out with their little chubby cheeks! Makes me even more excited to meet her, did it you too?

@mrsbgb I'm the same, loads and loads of movement now, she gets hiccups at least twice per day sometimes 3 times but my heartburn is another level now too.

HRP1990 · 05/07/2024 20:28

@MrsM89 @MudandMoet aw what beautiful scan pictures! It’s nice to get an idea of how fully developed they are in there too!

@MudandMoet yes I’m pretty sure everyone gets one! It came with a letter from the midwife to say they’ll be over when the baby is 10-14 days old 🤷🏻‍♀️ I thought it was earlier than that for some reason.

@longingtobe23 Yes I feel huge! I actually thought baby changed position as my belly looked lower today. I picked my daughter up from nursery and the manager was like “oh wow where did that come from!? And you’ve got 10 weeks left!?” Cheers love 🥹🙄

PinkWatermelon88 · 05/07/2024 20:54

@MrsM89 @MudandMoet fab pics! Makes it all feel very real I'm sure :)

I'm SO uncomfortable the last week or so, a constant ache under my ribs on the left. Baba is breech according to the midwives last week so I'd say its the head. I'm doing Spinning Babies twice/three times daily but still feel kicks down low so don't think they've turned :( Back to Doc on Wednesday so will know for sure then.
I've 10 weeks left... how on earth will I survive with so much discomfort while running after a toddler who has suddenly decided to stop sleeping...! OUCH!

WinsandSam · 05/07/2024 20:55

Advice please-

I'm invited to a family birthday bbq Sunday. They've just text to say one of the kids attending has chicken pox. Would you go?
I'm reluctant as older and higher risk. Know I've had chicken pox as a child but it's way more risky this far on in pregnancy

LSW82 · 05/07/2024 21:04

@HRP1990 the midwife came out to the house the day after I got out hospital with my son, & a few more visits after that! As everything was ok I think after about day 10 they signed me over to HV care , but I def saw midwife's in those first couple weeks - they need to weigh baby etc to make sure they're not losing too much weight, they also check any stitches you may have & check you're mental health etc , I'd be surprised if they now don't see you for the first 10 days , it seems a long time!

malimoon · 05/07/2024 21:04

@WinsandSam I might skip it. If you're worrying about catching something you won't enjoy it as much anyway and if you did get it, it would be stressful even if everything was ultimately okay. I guess it might depend on how often you see these family members and how long you've been planning it for, but that's my initial feeling. (Also... why is the kid coming to a group social event if they have chicken pox?!)

Lillers · 05/07/2024 21:11

@WinsandSam I wouldn’t go - I had chicken pox 3 times as a child (even though you’re meant to only to get it once) so I know it’s a virus my body doesn’t like. I have to say I agree with @malimoon - why on earth is a child with chicken pox going?!

I was meant to be going to a bbq tomorrow for my friend’s birthday but she has covid so has had to cancel. I was going to be stopping by there on the way to my niece’s birthday party, so it does make my day a bit simpler.

LSW82 · 05/07/2024 21:11

@malimoon that's my thoughts too, surely if the spots haven't scabbed yet the parent should be keeping the child at home, it's easily spread just by being in the same room & people will have underlying health problems & weakened immune symptoms that you might not know about that could then be dangerous to get chickenpox
As far as I know if you've already had chickenpox you should be fine but obviously it's an added worry you prob don't need right now!

WinsandSam · 05/07/2024 21:23

@malimoon it's my partners brothers birthday. I'm not too fussed if I don't go to be honest. My thoughts is that the child should be told not to come! There are other vulnerable adults going too

WinsandSam · 05/07/2024 21:26

@Lillers

that's the thing. You can catch it again!
@LSW82
Apparently they've just scabbed over but still feel a bit uncomfortable 😣 like I say there are elderly people going who have health conditions and very vulnerable

Sure I'm being dramatic but I'll worry about it after

tryingfortwo2 · 05/07/2024 21:53

@WinsandSam I’d skip it too, absolutely not worth the risk/mental toll the worrying would cause.

We had a 3D/4D (what even is 4D?!) scan yesterday too, made it feel very real! Our pram was delivered tonight too, and I got a text to say the babybox (I’m in Scotland) is coming in the next few days. Ending the week feeling like there’s actually a baby coming soon 😂

Xur · 05/07/2024 22:11

@MudandMoet lovely pictures 😍 Love the 😝 Little tongue moment!

@WinsandSam I would not go, always trust your gut. If you have a doubt that’s probably intuition and I’d listen to that.
If there’s going to be one sick kid, there might be 3 other sick ones, all with different stuff. Last year I saw a 1 year old end up in hospital with an oxygen mask on and almost choking on their own vomit because someone brought their very sick kid to a birthday party.

@HRP1990 they come like 2 days after you’re home from the hospital and after that like a week later as far as I know from my friends. Officially I think the visits are supposed to take place in the first 3 weeks. (I remember reading about the 3 week mark somewhere).

WinsandSam · 05/07/2024 22:12

Thanks all for your opinions! I don't feel comfy going so glad you all agree. Be different if a lovely day and can be outside but it's going to be raining. They live in a tiny house so will all be squashed in

longingtobe23 · 05/07/2024 23:21

@HRP1990 gosh yes I think baby shifted over here too it was so uncomfortable and look 2x as big as last week!?!

I didn't feel her move for what felt like forever I tried all tricks in the book I had a nice bath washed hair and as I was about to cry/call triage for advice or to go in.... I dried my hair and she kicked to the noise of the hairdryer ... Little monster!!
I've booked a scan for tomorrow to see what position she is in as I'm sure it's gone from breech to transverse the discomfort and the change in movement pattern has me all flappy 😞

WinsandSam · 06/07/2024 10:17

Like others, starting to feel really big in the belly area and like skin can't stretch anymore.

Baby had been head down for weeks but decided to turn and is now breach. Could literally see and feel her spine near my belly button. Was uncomfortable and pretty gross 🤪 I can cope with the kicks and punches but the turning is not for me

HRP1990 · 06/07/2024 11:54

Our double buggy has just arrived (we went for the Bugaboo Donkey in Forest Green! Thanks for the input on colour!) and oh my god the boxes are huge 😂 where the hell am I going to store it for ..🤞🏻 10 weeks!? I hope it’s smaller once put together lol

tryingfortwo2 · 06/07/2024 13:50

@HRP1990 our double pram (went for the Orange 4) was supposed to be on pre-order, arriving late August, which was fine because I’m due 27th Aug and likely won’t use it for a week or two anyway.. but it arrived out of the blue last night!

We have literally nowhere to put it as our garage is in the middle of a conversion and there’s no spare room until it’s finished.. so it’ll be living in the hall where the delivery man left it! 🤦🏼‍♀️

😂😂 same! The delivery guy knocked and I said to him “oh one second, let me just put the dog away” and when I came back he was about to get back in the van! He saw how pregnant I was and came back to the house to put it in the hallway for me lol. Where it will stay.. for 10 weeks 😂
