Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

Thanks all, I did request it but she said as my bump is measuring on about 60th percentile it is unlikely they’d agree it but she would email the consultant to ask.

Anyway, all good with the midwife, he has moved from transverse to breech!

Just a shame I now have to go to work 😂 Happy Monday all!

HRP1990 · 01/07/2024 10:08

This is my second pregnancy, so the antenatal classes didn’t really make sense to cover things I already know. However the friendships I made were invaluable - I spoke to the girls daily, at 3am during night feeds, and we still meet up regularly now we have toddlers! I know everyone isn’t as lucky, but I hope you find the same from your groups 🫶🏼

rupertbear91 · 01/07/2024 10:58

We are doing NCT classes starting in 2 weeks mainly to meet other parents in the area although found out last week a girl I danced with from age of 3 - 18 is in the class too and due 3 days after me which will be nice.

Had my 28 week appointment today bump measuring just below the 50% so they are happy but can't tell if he's upside down or not so said if she can't tell properly by my 31 week appointment she will send me for a scan.

I have a million appointments coming up over the next few weeks though with heart scans, obstetrics consultant, anaesthetist consultant review.... it's certainly going to pass the time!

Emmaev · 01/07/2024 11:31

The days are flying by, I’m still like many very unorganised and have next to nothing ready. I think her being a second child were so much more laid back and our thinking is we can just get it all sorted in a day.

Would like to get a hospital bag started though as I’m 31 weeks today and daughter came at 33+6 (although little missy looks like she’ll be staying put much longer) What are everyone’s essentials? I didn’t even manage a bag last time and my partner ended up putting thongs into an Aldi bag for me haha.

It’s a quiet week this week. Then next week I’ve got 3 appointments. Anxious about our 32 week growth scan, do scans get any easier?

Baby girl is head down and kicking into my ribs constantly, but my midwife said not to worry about position until 36 weeks.

Only 5 more shifts left at work and I’m most definitely wishing them away, the heat is insane!

I really wish I’d kept in contact with those I met with my first in Dec/Jan 2020 😞 I often think about them and how they got on! I’m so gutted I just walked straight out of the last class without exchanging numbers. We even bumped into a few of the couples on the labour ward when I was in getting induced. So to anyone going to one, definitely exchange numbers! I’m 4 years on without doing it and I’m still gutted ☹️

Honeyandsunshine1 · 01/07/2024 15:27

For my hospital bag I’ve only got mini toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/toothbrushes and pastes etc) a nightie, new pjs to lounge in and a huge pack of maternity pads 😂😂

I did really enjoy the spritz for bitz with my first pregnancy, but I survived alright going for a wee after giving birth to my second so might just skip that one this time.

I just need to get a pack of parachute pants, some socks, and just pack some baby nappies, wipes and outfits.

Eager to read everyone else’s lists to get some inspo for stuff I’ve probably forgotten. I feel like the more kids I spawn, the less I bring to the hospital. If we have a fourth, I might just bring a coat and a snickers 🤣

WinsandSam · 01/07/2024 17:56

Later in the month over here, but today marks the 3rd trimester for me!' Sh*t the bed, it's actually happening now 😬

@MudandMoet you sound like me 😂 this baby is going to come out loving crisps, chips and bread! With a few pieces of fruit each day.
I also never started on the stretch mark cream as read it's all genetics so seemed like another money maker with "pregnancy or baby" written on the tub.

@Emmaev that's amazing! 5 shifts will fly by.. I'm counting down 3.5 weeks 🥂

SC126 · 01/07/2024 18:11

@MudandMoet refreshing to hear that I’m not the only one with a terrible diet during pregnancy. I’ll eat an apple or something to make myself feel better but this baby likes carbs and sweets and maccies!

for hospital bag so I’ve got x2 pairs of nighties (better for c section), breast pads, adult diapers and maternity pads, comfy big knickers and hand sanitiser. I need to buy some little shampoos etc and pack stuff for baby but I won’t overdo it as husband can always bring stuff to hospital if I need more. I’m going to buy the ready made formula with the teats attached for hospital too as I don’t plan on breastfeeding.

Emmaev · 01/07/2024 18:19

My friend also suggested puppy pads to use in the car for the journey home. Ill be getting some of those big incontinence pads, they sell them in home bargains for about £5.

Anyone else feeling swollen? My legs, ankles and feet definitely look puffed up.

Aww! Are you doing anything this time? I’ve got to be honest, if the organisers hadn’t of organised a WhatsApp group, I probably would have bothered. But I’m so glad they did! Now if anyone messages me on social media and they’re pregnant I’m like - where are you based and when are you due!? I’d love another group of mum friends 🥹

Also, on the hospital bag list.. what are we thinking for September weather to dress baby in? Sometimes it’s lovely in Sept and sometimes it’s not!? Long sleeve vests and sleepsuits? Short sleeve vest!? Pack both to be safe?

SC126 · 01/07/2024 18:45

@HRP1990 im going with short sleeve vests and babygrow. And an extra cardigan or something if needed.

tryingfortwo2 · 01/07/2024 20:27

Had my 31 week midwife appt today (I’m 31+6) and my bump growth has stalled so I’ve been referred for a scan tomorrow to make sure all is okay. I assume there will be a follow up scan too, how else would they know if her growth had actually stalled..?

Bumped measured the same today as 3 weeks ago but I’m so sure that first measurement was wrong, I even said it to DH at the time, and I’ve 100% grown in the last 3 weeks. So feeling v laidback about it* but will be lovely to see her again tomorrow.

*disclaimer: if this was my first pregnancy I’d be losing my mind and googling everything under the sun. Crazy how much more laidback I am this time round, poor neglected baby 😂

Lillers · 01/07/2024 20:46

Does anyone else’s DH have an annoying delayed reaction when you tell him to look/feel when the baby’s moving? She’ll be visibly moving and I’ll say, “Look!” And he’ll spend a second or so still looking at his phone/the tv before looking over, by which time she’s stopped. When I say “look” I mean literally right this moment! Then he gets annoyed that he missed it 😂

MudandMoet · 01/07/2024 21:02

@SC126 @WinsandSam ahhh I'm sooo relieved you're the same girls! Was thinking I was the only one not watching what I'm eating.

@SC126 also not BF. I've just got the actimil ready made little bottles but wasn't aware of any that had teats too, I think I assumed they'd bring me a sterilised bottle in the hospital to put it in but I've no idea 🤪 will Google them.

WinsandSam · 01/07/2024 21:20

@Lillers men have ZERO sense of urgency!! I find the same. Then he does look for only a second or two and turn around, that's when she starts to party again

@MudandMoet not at all! Back from a weekend in London today and I consumed a fry up, double decka, crisps, melon, sweets. Jacket potato and a huge pastry from Eataly 😂 plus a bottle of sprite

SpicyMoth · 01/07/2024 21:30

I'm sure I've had another growth spurt after my birthday weekend - At first I thought it was just the carvery I had, but 2 days later I feel like I've gone from absolutely massive, to positively enormous! Anyone else had another big growth moment bump wise?

Kind of embarrassing, but tbh I'm just glad they seem to actually work - Boob leakage has finally happened! Lol

I'd been worried since BadgerNotes had been telling me to expect it for months and months now and nothing was happening, but coming up to week 31 they've finally decided to gear themselves up.
I'd spent all morning thinking "god why are my nipps so itchy?!" I guess now I know! 🙈

OP posts:
Lillers · 01/07/2024 21:39

@WinsandSam Yes! Literally just glances over, nothing happens immediately so looks away again 😂. It’s so annoying!

WinsandSam · 01/07/2024 21:40

@Lillers this is why Ive always worried about my life in an emergency.. not sure he'd see the urgency and ring an ambulance. This is a concern I've had for over 10 years 🥂

Cat2022 · 01/07/2024 21:49

@SpicyMoth my nips have been so itchy too and I woke up this morning to a little wet patch on one side so I guess leaking has started here too.

Xur · 01/07/2024 22:13

@Lillers mine will look/touch instantly but he has no patience to wait. This is what the baby does, he’ll be putting on a show then he would put his hand on and baby stops moving like “haha gotcha!”

I realised today morning that I must’ve outgrow my second pair of maternity jeans. Surprisingly on the belly! I noticed the edge of the waist which is high and doesn’t have any rubber on the end was curving into my belly. So I guess my belly has grown!

Sadly I am still sickish, I have an itchy cough now 🤧😕

TripleESept24 · 01/07/2024 22:21

I am getting overwhelmed with excitement to meet my baby girl now!! It feels like time has slowed down!! I still have 9 weeks at work 😭🤣 and I'm so over it!

longingtobe23 · 01/07/2024 22:24

Bump was just under 50th at first measure and already excited to see what it is at 31 weeks purely because I paid no attention to it first pregnancy and had a big baby 😂

I feel large but I think I’m doing okay for nearly 29 weeks I haven’t bought anything maternity yet (and hopefully won’t!) because I’m off work for the summer so leggings and shorts in a size up for me 🤞🏻
I am however SO uncomfortable on the sofa at night just can’t get in a position that feels nice on my bump I’d rather just be in bed lying down 😩
probably more the sofa than anything 😂

WinsandSam · 02/07/2024 09:30

@longingtobe23 I agree about the sofa, I can't rest on there and only find sitting in bed is comfy. I get aches and belly in the way on the sofa, no fun! 🤩

RosiePH · 02/07/2024 09:47

Sleep feels like such a luxury right now! I’m waking up with really bad heartburn (proper acid in mouth heartburn). But gaviscon then makes me bloated the next day, so I end up choosing between one problem or another. Such bad bloating I feel completely swollen too!

I am so tired today.

tryingfortwo2 · 02/07/2024 11:18

@RosiePH I’m having similar issues, I was getting really bad night cramps in my legs and discovered a glass of tonic before bed really helps.. but now I’m waking with awful reflux/heartburn and having to reach for the gaviscon. Feeling really heavy and bloated today and hadn’t considered that could be the culprit!
